We noticed a lot of water on the drivers side floorboard after receiving the car back from receiving hail damage repair. we contacted the auto repairman assuming that the water was associated with the repair. we were told that it was not that the mitsubishi endeavor has a design defect with the heater core and ac drainage. a second mechanical opinion confirmed this. we vacuumed the car using a shop vac and documented 4 inches of water removed from the car on two seperate vacuuming sessions. a member of the family is allergic to mold and has found the resulting mold to be a health hazard. this is the only mode of transportation for the family and the quoted cost of repairs is in a range of $400-$900. the wet floor presents a potential for physical harm as it is extremely wet. *tr

Like many, many reports the drivers side floor mat is saturated and pooled with water from the ac/hvac system drainage failure. the manufacture has tsb's on on the issue with foam gasket replacement or initially drilling a hole cleaning it out and installing a rubber plug tsb-08-55-007. now installation of a hose used for radiator overflow on an eclipse now being suggested no: tsb-11-55-003. how is this not a design flaw and how is the mold and moisture issue not a safety concern. the internal cab parts are not coated or treated to inhibit rust from this excessive moisture. the excessive moisture inside the vehicle also accumulates on the inside windshield of the vehicle as it removed thru the system but re-enters thru the firewall into the floor. *tr

The h-vac system does not work. when air conditioning is used water seeps into the floorboard and completely soaks the floor and mat, which creates a very rank odor. to correct this problem it will cost the consumer approximately $800.00. this is clearly an engineer defect/flaw. we were told by an mitsubishi service rep that the following year (2005) it was corrected. obviously mitsubishi was aware of this problem. why wasn't a recall done on this problem? i think it certainly warrants one. how many other people have been affected by this? why should the consumer assume costs for something that was not made correctly? i am baffled, as to why a car corporation would not take care of their customers? *tr

I have owned my 04 endeavor unlimited when it came out, drove it off the lot. i continue to own it to present date 09/09. i noticed the paint job at the top of vehicle and lg areas on the hood as well as areas at top of the brake light at rear of car are wearing down to the primer. i feel the paint job was not done properly and feel mitsubishi should be held responsible for repainting. it was declined saying it exceeded the mileage specification. 3yrs or 36,000 miles would warrant a new paint job. what happened to bumper to bumper warranty which is what was understood at the time of purchase? *tr

Serious safety issue that will result in slippery floor carpeting, brake, and acceleration pedals due to design flaw. water from a/c unit entering driver side drivers floor area. wetting floor panel and carpeting. possibly a grommet it seems to be a common problem in many endeavors . *tr

2004 mitsubishi endeavor, over the pass year are so the black paint has been fading away and they only paint the spots that has faded (why not repaint the hold thing and same time they agree it is a defect). this next problem is current, 12-1-2008 i can not remove the key from the ignition after i put it in park and just rotate the key to turn off the suv the rotation stop and i can not remove it or began to force it to home position my key as of today 12-2-2008 is still in the ignition it will just rotate enough to turn the motor off and that is it, will this fall under the current recall of the electrical ignition problem. *tr

Dear sir/madam, i have a black 2004 mitsubishi endeavor which has serious paint issues on the hood and the top of the car. the paint is deteriorating rapidly on surfaces that are most exposed to sunlight. the paint has premature aging and turns a white color. the car looks like 10 years old. tried to solve the problem with the service managers but they are telling that my warranty is not covered this problem. according to the research that i made on the internet, there are hundreds of mitsubishi owners that have the same problems with mitsibushi endeavor. also, it looks like it is a standing policy at mitsubishi motors to intentionally thin the clear-coat on their automobiles in an attempt to save money up front. i hope you can help us to solve this. thank you. *tr

2004 mitsubishi endeavor 4x4, at the time i reported the rusting problem i had under 20,000 miles on my vehicle. it has heavy rust under the back seats, on the hinges that operate the seats, the coil construction of the seat, the area where the jack is stored and the jack itself. i notified the company and there response was that this was normal. i can find no one else who agrees with this statement. i have pictures available and would like help in this matter. my daughter and i both have allergies and if there is that much moisture in this vehicle i am afraid that there may also be unseen mold that could be harmful as well. i feel i have tried to resolve this nicely, but they are not willing to do anything about it. *nm

Paint delaminates from vehicle surface. exterior paint starts to degrade then delaminates from the vehicle's surface until eventually the entire vehicle is exposed to the metal. this occurred in less than 2 years and continued throughout my ownership of the vehicle, which was a lease that i was charged for the damage. this is clearly problem. after a short internet search, thousands of exact complaints can be found. *tr

Rolling down the rear windows causes an air vibration that is so loud and pulsing that it hurts your ears. opening all the windows helps a little, but is still unacceptable. opening just the rear windows is extremely painful. this problem has been noted by many mitsubishi endeavor owners. this is not the type of issue that can be identified, prior to purchasing the vehicle, when one buys the vehicle in the winter. why would you ever roll the rear windows down? it is expected that you should be able to do so, without serious discomfort. *tr

I am the first owner of a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. it is black in color. the paint is fading terribly and turning white. this is happening all over the hood and roof of the vehicle. i have discovered on the internet that this is a recurring and common complaint about these black colored mitsubishi vehicles. it has something to do with the clear-coat and the paint being defective. *tr

The paint on my mitsubishi endeavor 04, has all this oxidation going on on the roof and the window panels. i investigated this after taking my car back to dennis mitsubishi and having them tell me they will paint the spots that are bad but not my whole car. i found out that there are thousands of people with mitsubishi's that are having the exact same problem and the corporate office is just ignoring the problem that they know is the car makers error. they used bad paint coating on all the vehicles and they will not come out and admit that they are wrong. it is so awful to treat their customers this way and i can not believe they are allowed to just get away with it. something should be done, they should have to recall these cars. i am not the only one sitting around shaking my head at this. if anyone types in mitsubishi paint in there search engine you will see the number of incidents on many different web sites. this is just so wrong.

2004 mitsubishi endeavor - manufacturer used plastic covers on the underside of the car to protect engine. i believe it is a poor design, that has broken on my car, and with any type of road debris will continue to break. while this may not be a safety item, a safer method with be some type of light metal panel. *la
