We noticed a lot of water on the drivers side floorboard after receiving the car back from receiving hail damage repair. we contacted the auto repairman assuming that the water was associated with the repair. we were told that it was not that the mitsubishi endeavor has a design defect with the heater core and ac drainage. a second mechanical opinion confirmed this. we vacuumed the car using a shop vac and documented 4 inches of water removed from the car on two seperate vacuuming sessions. a member of the family is allergic to mold and has found the resulting mold to be a health hazard. this is the only mode of transportation for the family and the quoted cost of repairs is in a range of $400-$900. the wet floor presents a potential for physical harm as it is extremely wet.

Like many, many reports the drivers side floor mat is saturated and pooled with water from the ac/hvac system drainage failure. the manufacture has tsb's on on the issue with foam gasket replacement or initially drilling a hole cleaning it out and installing a rubber plug tsb-08-55-007. now installation of a hose used for radiator oveflow on an eclipe now being suggested no: tsb-11-55-003. how is this not a design flaw and how is the mold and moisture issue not a safety concern. the internal cab parts are not coated or treated to inhibit rust from this excessive moisture. the excessive moisture inside the vehicle also accumulates on the inside windshield of the vehicle as it removed thru the system but re-enters thru the firewall into the floor.

For sometime i have notice that my mat on the driver side is always wet. i'm afraid that the floor is going to give out. also, my latch on the back just stop working.

The h-vac system does not work. when air conditioning is used water seeps into the floorboard and completely soaks the floor and mat, which creates a very rank odor. to correct this problem it will cost the consumer approximately $800.00. this is clearly an engineer defect/flaw. we were told by an mitsubishi service rep that the following year (2005) it was corrected. obviously mitsubishi was aware of this problem. why wasn't a recall done on this problem? i think it certainly warrants one. how many other people have been affected by this? why should the consumer assume costs for something that was not made correctly? i am baffled, as to why a car corporation would not take care of their customers?

Bought this 2004 mitsubishi endeavor used with 64k miles in january. started using the air this summer and noticed driver's side floor is soaking wet after each use. found online that multiple people are having this same issue. called the dealership and they confirmed that mitsubishi is aware of it and have put together a fix between $220-$350 but there is no re-call. i was told the problem is a failed seal in the a/c unit. also, had to have the egr sensor replaced twice. called mitsubishi and they said nothing they can do because the car is out of warranty. it ran $400-$500 each time at the dealership.

After driving on a long trip, found the driver's side floor carpet and mat soaked with water. ac drain tube is blocked causing mold and odor. the drain tube is too short and located inside the firewall and needs to be lengthened out of the firewall (per mitsubishi tsb-11-55-003). the flooring continues to be soaked with water even when the ac is not in operation. this is an unsafe condition due to the stepping on the wet floor mat and causing the break pedal and gas pedal to become wet, causing your foot to slip off the pedals when wet. not to mention the breathing in the mold caused by the wetness.

Drivers side has wet floor mats, as ac is backed up causing mildew and an unpleasant odor. the whole floor is wet, stretching back to the passangers side. dealer says they will drill a hole and blow out ac, but not guarantee a permanent fix. this is unsafe because the stepping on wet floor mats make the break and gas pedals wet.

1.) the driver's side floor in both the front and back are soaking wet. the water is coming from inside the car. my research indicates this is caused by the air conditioner leaking into the car due to a blockage. 2.) i am having to replace another plastic door handle which has come off within the past three months. these plastic handles are cheap and create a danger as ingress into the car is hampered. door handles should be metal and should not be able to come off!

Water is leaking onto the driverside front floor everytime the air conditioning runs. mold is growing and the odor is horrible. i must have read at least 300 complaints of this online by other owners of a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor, and it is without a question, a design flaw and mitsubishi will not admitt to this. rather, they are asking for more than $1200 to fix it. this problem is more than a major inconvenience, it is a health hazard allowing people to inhale mold while driving, not mentioning the other problems that the water is probably causing, such as rust, and potential electrical problems. mitsubishi should be forced to fix this free of charge, since literally hundreds of endeavor owners are reporting the very same problem with water on their driver-side floors. please contact me at danjcat@comcast.net if anyone has this problem, as well as how we might be able to all get together to force mitsubishi to take action. thank you.

It looks like that the mitsubishi endeavor has design defects where the a/c water leaks inside the car. i started to notice water under driver and rear seats. i thought that this is due to rain but when i took it for repair the mechanic told me that this is due to the a/c and the water is not draining out instead it is draining inside. i also went to the dealership here in jacksonville, fl and they also told me that this is a know problem and happens with this model. they told me that i have to either replace the compressor for $800 or they can clean and do something that will temporarily fix the problem costing $189. they also told me that there is no recall even though they know that this is a manufacturing defect. there is no guarantee that this problem will not happen even if i replace the compressor. which is insane!!! searching the internet reviled that a lot of people are having the same issue. so far i drained more than 3 gallons of water from under the driver and rear passenger seats. i cannot use a/c in hot florida weather. so much water inside the car can also cause short circuit even fire. i believe this is a serious problem which mitsubishi should recall and fix.

I noticed water dropping from under the drivers dashboard occasionally and thought it was condensation/sweating in july 2010. this year on vacation i noticed the carpet was full of water on the drivers side including the rear floorboard with mildew growing every where. this is my wife's vehicle , so i don't drive it very often. she had bronchitis for two and a half months this spring that could not be explained that three different kinds of antibiotics, steroids, and a nebulizer machine couldn't make her better. now i know what caused her prolonged illness, driving her car every day with mildew under the floor mats and in the air. my whole family has either allergies, asthma or both. after we returned from vacation i googled for a answer to find where the condensation tube was located to clear it and possibly stop it from leaking inside.much to my surprise the internet search resulted with a bevy of complaints about the very same problem ! i read forums, articles, and complaints with the end result that mitsubishi was charging $1000.00 to fix. since then they issued a service bulletin on how to repair the problem with out taking the whole a/c unit out. there is a tsb report # 09-55-002 on the problem with the findings that insulation used in the housing falls apart and clogs the drain inside the housing.the design of the a/c condenser inside the vehicle is asking for leaks and problems. i can't expose my family to mold and mildew every time the a/c is used. the water in the carpet smells very bad and will rust the floorboards and the frame of the truck! this makes the problem two fold. the rust is a safety issue and the mold is a severe health issue for people especially with respiratory problems. i am very upset and will be contacting the mitsubishi regional service rep. for the washington d.c. area. please recall! many more can't or won't complain! thank you.....

Due to a faulty a.c. filter material, the air condition drain duct is obstructed. the fauilty material breaks down and hinders the ability of the condensation to drain outside of the suv. the water has no where to go and leaks into the interior floor board and saturates the carpet and interior components of the car. the water also becomes trapped in a pocket or area of the floorboard and cant drain outside. this problem results in a mold developing and can or will be harmful when exposed to prolong periods! we have had the drain line cleaned out on three seperate occasions, at our own expense and the issue keeps reoccuring? the repair shop states the deteriorated filter material continues to break apart and become lodged in the drain line. mitsubishi has yet to have a recall on this issue and their remedy is to bring it in to the dealership for a repair charge that is expensive, unaffordable and unreasonable! we are having breathing difficulties due to the obnoxious and possibly toxic mold smell. we need the car for transportation back and forth to our jobs and have no choice as we need to pay our bills! surely if this was a minor repair cost we would have corrected it due to the possibly harmful nature, however the repair cost is unaffordable. considering this is a possible safety issue, we would appreciate and feel it necessary to investigate this issue and have the manufacturer correct it. we are aware of the economic hardship that is effecting everyone and are concerned, however insurance and safety of occupants should be upheld above any circumstance! certain molds are proven to be harmful or fatal. thank you

My 2004 mitsubishi endeavor has some sort of problem that seems to be the same to many others. the floorboards are soaking wet and are causing our feet to slip when pressing on the brake and gas pedals. the carpet is constantly covered in mold because of all the moisture and the smell is misty and sometimes unbearable. my entire family suffers from severe allergies and the mold just makes them worse. i also have a newborn and the air in the car is just horrible to breathe. my windows also are full with condensation in the mornings and it is sometimes impossible to remove all the water from my windows which causes some trouble while i'm driving. i have not fixed the problem because there is not a dealership near by and i also do not have the funds to pay for someone to fix it.

2004 mitsubishi endevor's paint is deteriorating. *nj after about 3 years of owning the vehicle, the clear coat over the paint started to deteriorate on several parts of the vehicle. the consumer contacted mitsubishi and was informed they were aware of the problem and they would take care of it. the consumer asked them to re-paint the entire vehicle, but they refused and only painted the areas that were damaged. a year later, more parts of the paint started to deteriorate, and again they refused to paint the entire vehicle. *jb
