| 2002 black mitsubishi galant, it seems that all the galants for several years have problems with the paint..the paint its like disappearing if you look around and pay attention you will find a white coating coming from the primer used... i would like to know why a recall have not been issue yet. *tr | |||

| The car started fading on the side doors. was told by dealer that it was a complaint to the manufacturer. after the summer of last year the roof started to fade all over. there has been many complaints with this type of car owners. my father and i tried washing and waxing the car to keep from fading, but its damaged to the point where the car will need to be strip and sanded. *tr | |||

| I bought my car brand new (02 mits. galant - black) and the paint and clear coat has been fading. it started on the trunk in a small spot and now has spread to the roof and hood. i was told by mits. that there are no recalls, therefore they aren't able to assist me since i now have over 100,000 miles on the car. i was advised by cheryl (customer service rep) that they have a business to run and that since i'm outside of the warranty parameters they aren't able to help me. after searching the internet i've noticed that there are several consumers with the same problem. it seems that mits. is aware of the problem, but they aren't willing to acknowledge it. *tr | |||

| My mitsubishi g is a 2002. i bought it 2/2004 from carmax! not even 3 months into driving my car, i've had brake problems which began squeaking, then grinding. carmax changed the pads and i still had the same problem at least 3 months later! i bought 4 new tires from sears! this is not my 1st car and i know brakes should not be changed that often. i went back to the dealer 3 times since i bought my car. they are good for saying the complaints are not listed on the warranty. oh and everytime it rains, my entire left side is drenched only on the floor! the dealer i purchased says they can't find anything wrong. now my inside floors are getting worse. every time it rains heavy! the mitsubishi hub caps never stay on the tires! the heating system makes noise when you turn temperature from hot to cold???? i've always thought this make car were a satisfying company. blue book car value should really investigate the cars made by mitsubishi during the entire 2000 years! not to mention people like myself are making car payments. *jb | |||

| I have 2 complaints. i have a 2002 black mitsubishi galant es and like many others i see on the road and have read about on the internet. oxydization has occurred all over my car, it started about 2 years ago and buffing and waxing does not help. also, another problem that started about 2 years ago: when turning from air to heat or vice versa, there is a loud clicking noise and then it will turn over when it feels like. i think recently it has just given out and completely broke. i just paid this car off and am embarrassed to drive it. *tr | |||

| 2002 mitsubishi galant has a paint defect that is seen in every black galant that is seen on the road. the manufacturer denies any responsibility. in addition the vehicle loses hub caps constantly. this can also be seen in almost every galant on the road manufactured around those years. *tr | |||

| My 2002 silver mitsubishi galant gtz looks horrible. noticing after the car was purchased that the car did not have any real shine to it. tried waxing and still looked bad. even running you hands over it does not feel smooth. well in 2007 i noticed blotchy spots all over it no looks like the paint is gone completely. i actually paid extra for the clear coat protection and undercoating innercoating when purchased new. it's as if it showed up as soon as the warranty expired. no one can give me any information and i think i may get a lawyer too. as i read more complaints about this problem, the more and more ticked i am! *tr | |||

| I am owner of 2002 black mitsubishi galant with a very badly fading paint job. i am a second owner of this car(since 2006) and for the couple years the fading process has been rather dramatic and the car just looks ugly, inspite of me never having any issues with the performance of the car itself engine or otherwise. i know that there a similar black mitsubishi owners(galant, eclipse, endeavor) suffering from this issue. hence filing my complaint requesting for some action against mitsubishi america to repair the shoddy paint job. *tr | |||

| I bought a 2002 mitsubishi galant i took care of it by keeping it washed and waxed and after 6 months i had the car i started to see some spots on my car starting to fade,a year later it looked as if i had my car for about 8 years because the paint job is really bad. i see alot of cars daily that looks like mine and i know that there was a problem with the paint that mitsubishi used to paint these cars but they aren't doing anything about it and i think that that is wrong. there are hundreds of galants out there maybe more and they act as if nothings wrong, i feel like there wrong and they know it they just don't want to do anything about it and i'm clearly tired of it and think someone should do something about it. it doesn't make any sense to me because i can understand maybe 1 or 10 cars but we are talking about a whole lot more then that and if they're not going to own it to there responsibility than i think i need to get me a lawyer and let him take over mine and everyone else's case. *tr | |||

| Clicking noise when turning the air from hot to cold or cold to hot. clicking noise stopped and heat no longer works. i have no defrost/defog which causes problems with visibility. i am taking the car in for repairs this week. paint faded and corroded on the hood, trunk, roof, quarter panels, and door panels in 2004. i took it to the dealership and was told they couldn't do anything about it. i have recently taken it to a body shop and had it repainted. *tr | |||

| Car is exceptionally aerodynamically unstable. the vehicle drifts or wavers back and forth at highway speed. even light, gusty wind pulls the vehicle hard necessitating abrupt corrective maneuvers to prevent side collisions on the highway. on windy days, a gust will cause vehicle to swerve into neighboring lane without correction. *nm | |||

| The drivers side floor is constantly wet in my 2001 galant. it started happening in the last 3 months. i checked the underside of the car and do not see any holes; the undercarriage coating looks fine. there is a little support beam under the floor board of the car that i can not peer into. the fluid does not appear to be coolant. it does not look or smell like coolant. | |||
