Corrective SummaryMonaco is working with cummins to recalibrate the engine control module and enhance the engine protection system enabling it to provide early detection of the failure mode and avoid more serious engine damage and resultant safety hazard. cummins will also install a new valve cover with a crankcase pressure sensor free of charge (please see 07e033). owners may contact cummins at 800-343-7357 or monaco at 1-800-685-6545.

While traveling in my motor home with a cummins isl-400 diesel engine a high pressure fuel line feeding the common rail injector system cracked and leaked fuel throughout the engine compartment including the exhaust system. when repaired at the cummins service center in el cajon, ca, they said that this was a problem with the isl engine and that there was a fix to the problem. after replacing the cracked fuel line they also installed a support bracket for the fuel lime that should prevent vibrations thus eliminating cracking of the line. my question is, if they know about the problem why hasn't a recall been issued to install the support bracket to prevent cracking and fuel leaks which could lead to possible fires in the engine compartment??? i was really surprised that there wasn't a fire with all the fuel that leaked over the hot exhaust system. *jb
