Defect SummaryOn certain class a motor homes built on ford chassis, the speed control deactivation switch may, under certain conditions, leak internally and then overheat, smoke, or burn.

TIRES

 Left front tire blowout on national rv motorhome with a country coach (cci) chassis. (see your ea05011 odi) the chassis was manufactured by cci in 1999 and national rv manufactured a coach body for it and sold it as an islander for several years. mine is listed as a 2001 model when purchased new from the dealer. however, never was there any recall bulletins. rv has only 22,500 miles on and sunday, april 2, 2006, while going 55 mph on freeway, tire failed and blew out. damaged left front fender and wiring in fender well. right side shows wear patterns consistent with overweight for the tire size. air pressure in tire has been checked regularly and kept a manufacturer's suggested rating.*jb

 1) towing fifth wheel trailer on freeway. ) three tire failures, tread peeled off tires. all tires low milage maybe around 3 or 4 thousand miles. goodyear st 205-75r15. all tire pressures checked prior to each trip. one failure on trip in july after 60 miles of travel, two failures in august after 180 miles of travel. tires disinigrated, minor damage to trailer.*ak 3) purchased three new tires. national rv claims tires are just fine, goodyear no recall on tires. do not have damaged tires still have two of the origianl tires left.
