While making a normal left turn through an intersection my car began to spin. after a complete 360 degree spin and smack into a curb, there was slight damage to left rear exterior wheel well. this alignment issue and premature tire wear problem needs to be rectified. someone has to do something. under normal driving conditions to do a complete 360 spin out is ridiculous. i am lucky no one smacked into me after i stopped. i have had my tires replaced twice on the right rear and once on the left rear because of the inner tire wear. i have had an alignment done also. all this was prior to my spin out. something is not right with this car. any answers, solutions, recommendations? i have read numerous complaints on this site about the same problem i am having. are you even doing anything with these complaints? from what everyone else has written, no one has done a thing. there are no recalls or anything for this issue. please address this problem immediately before someone winds up getting hurt from this. obviously the dealership wont do a thing it will be way too costly for them. but for mine and the rest of the drivers on the roads safety, make something happen. give us a recall to fix this ongoing problem. its been almost 6 years and still no solution. come on guys, i know your better than that. our safety is now in your hands. *tr

I have an 2004 350z touring. i bought the car with 16,,000 miles on it. now, it has 30000 miles on it. in the 14000 mile range the tires on the front feathered completely due to sever negative camber. took vehicle to victory nissan of richmond several times, and they only aligned the car and charge me for it. i have an appointment on 6/20/2007 to go to dealer and will demand new tires as the problem has not been fixed. *ak

Uneven tire wear in front, leading to repeated unsafe driving conditions unnoticed by driver because it is inside front tires. nissan admitted problem, performed an alignment that did not remedy the problem and now will no longer return my calls. *jb

I own a nissan 350z 2004 roadster touring edition and the tires on the front have been replaced at 16,000+ because the inside tread became extremely worn. while in the dealership they told me about an alignment problem that nissan was reviewing. they claimed to have fixed the alignment problem, free of charge, but i had to replace the tires. i'm now at 31,115 and the same problem has occurred again. the front and back tires look new from the outside, but on the inside tread the tires were showing severe signs of wear. i believe there is a serious alignment issue...if i would not have fish tail my car i might not have had the car looked at. a potential accident waiting to happen with this car. *jb

Mechanical defect in the design of the front end cause the tires to have recurring premature uneven wear which the manufacturer refuses to fix correctly. in each occurrence the manufacturer suggests changing the tires and realigning the front end instead of fixing the real underlying mechanical defect. *nm

The nissan 350z has a history of tire failure (feathering) due to poor alignment of the vehicle. it appears this problem is with both the 2003 and 2004 production run. even after repeated tire replacements and alignments, tire feathering returns, creating a safety problem for the operator. nissan refuses to repair the problem.*ak

My 2004 roadster has been making brake noise after the first 1000 miles, the tip tronic shifter does not down shift all the time and the dealer insists this is normal and refuses to even investigate the problems. i also heard about a class action suit against nissan for faulty suspension and brakes, is this true?*ak

Front end mis-aligned at factory causing severe cupping of front tires at 13,000 miles. friend had same problem. i had car into dealer 2 weeks before. dealer did not say anything in spite of safety check. matter of time before a blowout. after i found the problem, dealer aligned front end and pro-rated replacement tires. i wrote a letter to nissan. customer service says no recall planned. very dangerous. *tr

I have a 2004 nissan 350z which has had repeated feathering of the front tires. i have responded to the april 2004 tba now three (3) times. the first two times, nissan claimed to have resolve the problem and replaced the front tires. the last time (which was less than 5000 miles ago), nissan again claimed to have aligned the front end of the vehicle. the problem has now returned. there is no specific date for this incident since, evidently, it is occurring continuously. *jb

Severe tire noise/cupping from front tires. there is feathering also. the front tires started making noise around 13,000 miles. there is now 20,000 and is almost undriveable because of the noise. the noise happens loudest when the car is braking.

Dt: contact states for the last 4 months the front end became very loud. it has a roaring noise in the front tire area. he talked to the dealer, and they told him the front end needed to be aligned, and he needed 2 new front tires because the inside of the tire was worn out. there were 11, 961 miles on the two front tires. contact found a tsb on 4-04 about this problem. he did not consult the manufacturer. the dealer did not give consumer any idea why he was having this problem. it was a 2004 350z convertible nissan.*ak

In april 2005 i purchased a nissan 350zx from david mcdavid nissan in houston texas. i'm extremely disappointed the fact that the pre owned vehicle i purchase had previously been in a wreck. i wouldn't of known of this situation. i not taken the car in for service during memorial weekend, reason being the front suspension is making pop noise it seems it comes from motor mounts or joints, cracking noise in the rear right tire and the back right brake also squeaks. had dan aldrich of the your service department not mention the car was in a wreck i would of never known. i told him how could that be if i just purchase the car back in april. i could not believe david mcdavid could sell pre owned vehicle under these conditions. i have sent the dealer customer service email with no reply

Oem tires (bridgestone potenza re040) on my nissan 350z started feathering on the inside of both front tires around 6000 miles. noticed the sound had gotten more noticable around 11000 miles. took vehicle into nissan at 12548 miles and was told that nissan had a problem with the front end on the 2003 model, but that it had been corrected. heard from another source that there were several 2004 350z cars that had the same problem.

I have a 2004 350z roadster with the feathering problem. at first, it appears to be a break problem. the nissan dealer did not cover this under warrenty even though it is covered until 12,000 miles. the stated that. the right front may be damaged and that i needed to take it to a body shop and have the frame bent. i took it to a tire dealer and they told me it was out of alignment. my front tires were replaced and a front end alignment done at 11,000 miles. only six months later at 16,500 the noise is still there. i took it to a differerent nissan dealer and they stated the alignment was wayyyy off. they did a 4 wheel alignment. i was again charged $70.00. i called nissan northamerica and althought they were responsive and talked to the dealer...... they ( nissan ) calm this is not a problem with the 2004. i took the car back a week later stating that it pulled to the right a little ( there is a tsb on this ). the dealer said it was do the low tire pressure. hmm they just had it in last week and this week the tires are already low? the checked the alignment and stated it was ok. the car drives ok... but the noise is still there especially at 20 to 30 when breaking. only time will tell but i am not satisfied nissan is doing what is needed to fix this problem. tires don't wear out with 11,000 miles.

Nissan 350z vin # jn1az34d94t152729 at approx. 7700 miles car displayed roaring noise when braked. noise became louder and consistant at low speed as milage increased. dealer (troy nissan in trot, al.) showed me cupping/uneven wear on inside of front tires. as previous owner of 2003 nissan 350z, i recognized the problem. repeated calls to nissan corporate met with response that nissan does not admit problem exists in 2004 model and refuses to replace tires as the was the practice with 2003 model. believe this will constitute safety hazard as these cars get older and that nissan must step up to the problem.

I have taken my 2004 350z into the irvine nissan dealership twice about the front tire noise making growling sounds. the work report only lists that there is tire ware, but no mention of my complaint about the tires. documented oil change, tire wear, and suggest allignment (but would charge me for it). took the car in a second time, and describbed the issue again. they refused to acknowledge the tires as an issue on 2004 vehicles, and stated on the vehicle work order order that they advised me about the tsb for 2003, and the condition does not exist on 2004. argued with the manager who says they took the car for a drive to test the noise, but would still not do anything. manager hung up on me. the vehicle still has the noise.

 1. purchased 2004 nissan 350z march 2004. by september 2004 and with only 9,000 miles, the car was experiencing a loud grinding sound upon application of the brake. the local dealership determined this was a suspension problem causing the tires to cup or feather and wear prematurely. the local dealership replaced both front tires and did an alignment. i was told the 2003 model 350z had this problem but that it had been remedied. obviously this problem has not been addressed properly as the same problem continues with the 2004 model. my car now has only 18,000 miles with only 9,000 of those miles on my new front tires, and the same problem has reoccurred. customer service with nissan's 800 number says my car is beyond the 12 month/12,000 mile warranty and they won't do anything. what should my next step be?

I purchased a 2004 nissan 350z in august of 2003. after about 24000 miles i complained of excessive road noise comming for the tires. i was informed by the dealer that the front tire were cupping and had to be replaced. this seems to be a known problem with this car and nissan acknowledged it on their 2003 model but continues to ignore it on their 2004 model claining that it has been addressed although they are not clear on how they addressed it. i fear that this problem if not addressed by nissan will result in an unfortunate accident for someone unaware of the problem. it is suprising to me that auto manufacturers are not obligated to disclose these kind of known issues with their products. it seems that the dealers are notified but not the consumers who have bought their products.*ak

The front tires on my 04 nissan 350z are cupping every 3,000 miles nissan will not repair my vehicle. they replaced one set of front tires after 8,000 miles. at 13,000 miles they refused to repair the vehicle again because it was out of an adjustment period of 12,000 miles. i would like nissan to be required to honor there 3 year 36,000 mile warranty and repair my vehicle as well as replace my front tires.

Car has progressively gotten worse, first starting having tire noise at 10,000 miles finally was able to take to dealer around 14,000 mile and dealer stated that it was just needing an alignment and tire rotation, dealer performed repair and the noise was a little better, after 1000 more miles noise got louder than before and dealer says there is nothing else they can do. there are reports of this problem everywhere yet nissan chooses to ignore it, what am i able to do to get this fixed, it is not right that i buy a 30,000 dollar car and have to live with a problem like this. the vibrations from the tires are causing the dash and door to rattle now.*ak

First noticed by vehicle owner at approximately 10000 miles, dealer confirmed at 12000 miles, my 2004 nissan 350z touring model has developed abnormal wear of inner edges of front tires--front tires forming a cupping shape. the result of this abnormal wear has created unstable handling and ride, but most importantly a safety concern with regard to tire performance and handling. nissan has issued a service advisory bulletin acknowledging this very problem for the 2003 350z mode, but not for the 2004 model. nissan has indicated that the suspension is the primary problem for causing the abnormal tire wear and has authorized a partial fix to the problem. nissan refuses to acknowledge this problem with the 2004 model--request investigation for safety concerns and consumer protection.*ak

Front tires worn on inside due to faulty alignnment from factory. car was purchased new in december 2003. during second service ( 7,400 miles) at purchasing dealership tires were balanced and inspected. service department said nothing was abnormal with the tires. now 5 months later ( 13,000 miles) purchasing dealer refused to even look at auto when i told them there was noise coming from front end and that tires were wearing on the inside. i was told by purchasing dealers service department to call nissan north america or to call bridgestone tire company to have it fixed. i in turn called nissan north america and was told by them to take the car in to another dealership for inspection. i took the car in yesterday and was told i needed new tires for the front and that the alignment would be adjusted when the new tires were installed. i was also told that it would be up to nissan north america to approve this request for tires and service. i am afraid the bad alignment may cause tire failure due to the excessive wear on the inside. i check my tires weekly to ensure no cords are showing on the inside and that they are properly inflated. all 2003 350 z's have a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty on the alignment and tire replacements due to the same problems, yet nissan north america has not addressed the 2004 issues even though they are the same as the 2003. you can't expect consumers to purchase 2 new tires once a year because nissan can't repair an alignment problem on their flagship 350z.
SUSPENSION - MULTIPLE AXLE

At approximately 8,000 miles, the car started growling and vibrating during breaking. the nissan service manager stated that the alignment had not been set correctly at the factory. the alignment was set correctly and i was given 4 new tires since the car was under warranty. the nissan service manager stated that this had been as issue with the 2003 350z as well. nissan had extended the warranty to 3 years or 36,000 miles for the 2003 models. at approximately 15,000 miles the car once again started to growl and vibrate during breaking. the car was taken into nissan for service. the nissan service manager stated that the tires are starting to cup. the nissan service manager had the alignment checked and it is still set correctly. the nissan service manager stated that this is a design flaw and nothing could be done to solve the problem. the service manager stated that she had called nissan and there is nothing they would do since the car was past the 12,000 warranty restriction - even though they had realigned the car and replaced all the tires at 8,000 miles. the only action that could be taken to slow down the destruction of the tires, since the front tires are a different size than the back tires, is to switch position of the two front tires as well as the two back tires. please note that does not fix the problem - it only delays the problem.
