| I was involved in an accident which was very similar to one i had 2 years ago in the same car, only i do not remember as much as i do from the first one. the first accident occurred approximately august of 2006. i was driving on the freeway in very light traffic, when all of a sudden my car started to fish-tail. i was on the fast lane and hit the center divider and spun and hit it again. i managed to get over to the shoulder without hitting anyone or anyone hitting me. my car was crashed on the left side mainly near left tire and the bumper, some damage was on the left rear tire as well. i had the car repaired and the tires were changed. the second accident i do not remember as much because the impact was stronger and it knocked me unconscious and it was raining. the damage on the car was very similar to the first accident only there is alot more body damage. the highway patrol said that i had hit the center divider and spun. the car is not safe at all and there is a no reason that a sports car should be fish-tailing or lose treading in the rain. these cars should be made resistant to such weather and should tires should not be balding so quickly. the 2003 and 2004 nissans have had recalls for premature feathering/weathering of the tires. the tires tend to start balding too soon, thus causing not enough traction. this clearly would cause the car to fish-tail. *tr | |||

| Tire feathering problem which nissan is aware of but will do nothing to correct only a band-air. they say have the car realigned to there specs which i did at 17,0000 miles and the problem is back after 500 miles. i 'm now told the front tires are worn out. nissan or dealership will not replace my tires because of the in service date of my car as to when the service bulletin came out. it was 36 months i was told it was up in sept. nissan has got to tell the real problem with this tire feathering it is more then just and alignment it's mechanical. *tr | |||

| I own a 2004 nissan 350z and received a recall notice for front tire roar which eventually will damage the tires and misalign the front end. the warranty had been extended to oct 30 2005 and i had taken it back to the dealer on oct 28th. after the car was checked the tires were found defective and the service manager said he would order new tires. after two weeks had passed and i did not here from the dealer, i called to inquire. it seemed as though the parts were never ordered and they would order them and call me when they were in. finally on nov 21st i had the car serviced. when i took the car to the dealer they told me at this time that i had to pay for the tires. this was a surprise to me because nothing was said to me at the original date of service. i agreed to have the tires replaced because of the mis-handling of the car and a potential safety problem. after waiting approximately 3 hours for my car a fee of $449.00 was paid. do to the fact that this was a recall by the manufacturer and the notice stated that the tires will be replaced at no charge, i feel that i am do a refund by nissan. i have all pertinent documentation for your review. *jb | |||

| I bought a 2004 350z convertible in september, 2004 from marion dinwiddie at hudiburg oklahoma city. i have another car with front wheel drive which i drove when the roads were bad recently i got a letter stating there was a recall on the alignment. i starting checking on the tires and found out that the tires, bridgestone potenza re040. are summer tires and are not to be driven on snow and ice. i got this information from tirerack.com, which gives ratings on all the tires available in the united states. there were numerous complaints about these tires in customer reviews. when i bought the nissan i was not told that these were summer only tires. i consider this criminal! by not telling people this information i am sure that there have been a lot of wrecks and possibly fatalities due to someone driving in winter conditions. if i had known the nissan had summer tires on it i would have insisted they replace them with all season performance tires. by not telling the consumer about this is putting lives at risk and if i had not owned another car, i probably would have been in a wreck or been killed myself and others! this is an outright criminal act and nissan should be held responsible. i called eric at the main nissan office and filed a complaint and he told me that the dealer was responsible for putting on the tires. the dealer denies this. i am not going to play games and i hope you can help me and everyone else who is driving these cars . from all the reviews i read, these tires fall apart at about 10-15,000 miles. when i buy a $40,000 dollar car, i expect high performance all season tires and they had better last more than 15,000 miles! i feel ripped off and more importantly nissan has put my life and the lives of others in great danger. i think they deserve more that a slap on the hand, don't you agree? winter is just around the corner and for some it has already started! please do something quickly, lives are at stake here! sincerely, me. *nm | |||

| After 14,000 mi, car started to growl from the front. took it to the dealer, they said that it could be alignment and advised us to drive some more miles. at 24,000 the noise got louder, we took it back to the dealer, they said that front tires were worn out and we had to pay pro-rate on the tires. at 35,000, we received a letter from nissan saying about tires problem: early wear and tear. we came back to the dealer they said they would order the front tires and did not know how long they would be shipped and we still had to pay for pro-rate on the tires. should we pay pro-rate for the tires as the dealer said? we would not buy this car if we knew wheel alignment would be the problem. should nissan cover all expenses for us? we don't like the dealer anyway. they have very bad service and unprofessional. paul miller nissan 930 kings hwy e fairfield, ct 06825 tel. | I bought 2004 350z roadster in oct 2003. at 12,000 miles a rubbing noise from front tires became extremely loud. took car into metro nissan, montclair ca and was told noise could not be duplicated but that my brakes were glazed and roters warped. they replaced brakes and shaved roters. car still made same rubbing noise took it back to dealer 3 more times and until the 5th time and 18,000 miles on my car was told that it needed new tires because i had failed to have them rotated!! tires can't be rotated because they are directionals and different sizes!! i was told by dealer it was due to normal wear and tear! my tires are completely bald from the inside they are cupping and car has become less stable when handling curves at highway speeds. the outside of tire thread is perfectly new and shows no wear. i filed a complaint with nissan north america and was told the same bs as everyone else who has filed a complaint...the wear of the tires on the inside is not normal. nissan refuses to address the problem . what is the point of replacing tires every 8 to 12,000 miles if the same problem is going to repeat itself. i'm afraid to drive my car long distances or in fwy in fear of a blow out. | |||

| Nissan 350z has a problem that leads to premature wear on tires. i have a 2004 350z and it is exhibiting same failure as 2003. tires are making a noise that has to lead to ultimately a compromise of the tire intergrity. nissan answer so far , spend $700 every 6 months, by changing tires and realign all wheels....at my expense!!! this is a consumer product failure , potentialy a safety problem, and nissan is not appropriately addressing the issue. they had the same problem in 2003 350z and all i can say , same problem in the 2004 model year car. need help ..nissan is not providing a solution> | |||

| 2004 350z has 11600 miles and tire roar has become very loud. roar began near 10,000 miles and has gotten progressively worse. i have had the tires balanced at 10,000 miles in hopes of easing the situation - no relief. notified by discount tire mechanic that the inside edges of the front tires were showing considerable wear. called local nissan dealership and talked with maintenance & service dept. was told that i would need to pay $90 + tax for an alignment and $28 + tax to flip the front tires. also notified that i would probably need to repeat this every 10,000 miles and buy new tires every 20,000 miles. this seems to be a major flaw with the 2004 350z and has not been corrected from the 2003 model. | |||

| I was driving on the express way a motorcycle ahead of me applied his brakes i followed suit. the 350z roadster began to swerve and spin uncontrollably and stopped after i hit the sid rail resulting in motorcyclist and myself going to hospital the issues with the tires on the 350z are well known by consumers, nissan, and their dealerships. i have taken the car on at least three occasions to the dealership for examination and possible repairs but the tire defect and handling remain. this is unfortunate since they have tried to unsuccesfully fix the issue on other model years of this vehicle | |||

| Oem tires (bridgestone potenza re040) on my nissan 350z started feathering on the inside of both front tires around 6000 miles. noticed the sound had gotten more noticable around 11000 miles. took vehicle into nissan at 12548 miles and was told that nissan had a problem with the front end on the 2003 model, but that it had been corrected. heard from another source that there were several 2004 350z cars that had the same problem. | |||

| At the 15k service the service associate noted some front tire wear, and said that at the next service 18k, that i would need a front end alignement. at the 18k service the service associated sait that the tires were no longer servicable and that i would need $600 of tires and an alignment. after researching the problem, i found that nissan has admitted to a similar problem on the 2003 models, and that they are replacing tires and extending the warrenty to three years. nissan has not officially done this for the 2004 models. i told this to the service manager and they tried to make it right and offered to pay for the alignment and one tire. i settled for this, but i hope nissan resognizes this defect and makes it right by issuing a recall or extended warrenty on the 2004 models as well as the current extensions on the 2003's. | |||

| I purchased a 2004 nissan 350z in august of 2003. after about 24000 miles i complained of excessive road noise comming for the tires. i was informed by the dealer that the front tire were cupping and had to be replaced. this seems to be a known problem with this car and nissan acknowledged it on their 2003 model but continues to ignore it on their 2004 model claining that it has been addressed although they are not clear on how they addressed it. i fear that this problem if not addressed by nissan will result in an unfortunate accident for someone unaware of the problem. it is suprising to me that auto manufacturers are not obligated to disclose these kind of known issues with their products. it seems that the dealers are notified but not the consumers who have bought their products.*ak | |||

| Car has progressively gotten worse, first starting having tire noise at 10,000 miles finally was able to take to dealer around 14,000 mile and dealer stated that it was just needing an alignment and tire rotation, dealer performed repair and the noise was a little better, after 1000 more miles noise got louder than before and dealer says there is nothing else they can do. there are reports of this problem everywhere yet nissan chooses to ignore it, what am i able to do to get this fixed, it is not right that i buy a 30,000 dollar car and have to live with a problem like this. the vibrations from the tires are causing the dash and door to rattle now.*ak | |||

| I have a 2004 350z and i have notice load noise from my drivers side tire. i took to the nissan dealer and they check the alignment and the results was the toe where way off align. the corect it but the noise came back. i told them that i heard that the 2003 had problems with feathering and they said that it was corrected with the 2004 model. so, what is the true answer. i think they still have problem. i love my z, but they need to be trueful with the z customer and admit there is still a problem and fix it. i think they need to offer a tire replacement for the damaged its causing tires. i'm sure i will have to replace my tires.*ak | |||

| - my car was fully serviced on 11/29/04. - on 12/11/04 - our passenger side rear tire blew out damaging my car and wheel rim. the tires is a bridgestone potenza re040. - i filed it wih my insurance company. i am still negotiating with my insurance company to have my car fixed and have the incident properly catalogued.*ak | |||

| I have nissan 350z 2004 model and the tires are featuring and i only have 15000 miles on the car. there are many incidents like this and nissan fixed some of them but not others. they have bad alignments and poor quality tires on the car. i hope it is not defective design. my new car sound like a truck with off road tires. i am not sure if the tires will blow up on me. i would like to see nissan do a recall and fix this problem. | |||

| With less that 1 inch of snow on the ground, my car completed a 360 degree spin on route 48 by taylorville, il while going 45 miles an hour. i was the slowest car on the road. my car is a 2004 nissan 350z with bridgestone potenza re040 tires. this is the second spin on those tires. the other spin was 180 degrees while going less than 25 mph. it has taken me 3 minutes to get my car in the garage when there is any snow on the driveway. please note that the distance from the street to my garage is probably less than 60 feet.*ak | |||

| I own a nissan 350z 2004 roadster touring edition and the tires on the front have been replaced at 16,000+ because the inside tread became extremely worn. while in the dealership they told me about an alignment problem that nissan was reviewing. they claimed to have fixed the alignment problem, free of charge, but i had to replace the tires. i'm now at 31,115 and the same problem has occurred again. the front and back tires look new from the outside, but on the inside tread the tires were showing severe signs of wear. i believe there is a serious alignment issue...if i would not have fish tail my car i might not have had the car looked at. a potential accident waiting to happen with this car. *jb | |||

| I currently own a 2004 nissan 350z and i'm experiencing a problem with severe front tire feathering. i have made nissan aware of this problem which cause a loud roaring noise and vibration during braking. i originally thought the problem was my brakes but after just 10k000 miles replaced the front brakes and realized this did not fix the problem. after my second time to the dealership i was informed that my front tires were no longer good and need to be replaced at just under 14000 miles. i was told that this was a design flaw with the tires and possibly a toeing problem with the nissan 350z's. i registered a complaint to nissan at 1800-nissan-1 and it doesn't seem as though they will resolve this problem. this problem also occured with 2003 350z's.*ak | |||

| First noticed by vehicle owner at approximately 10000 miles, dealer confirmed at 12000 miles, my 2004 nissan 350z touring model has developed abnormal wear of inner edges of front tires--front tires forming a cupping shape. the result of this abnormal wear has created unstable handling and ride, but most importantly a safety concern with regard to tire performance and handling. nissan has issued a service advisory bulletin acknowledging this very problem for the 2003 350z mode, but not for the 2004 model. nissan has indicated that the suspension is the primary problem for causing the abnormal tire wear and has authorized a partial fix to the problem. nissan refuses to acknowledge this problem with the 2004 model--request investigation for safety concerns and consumer protection.*ak | |||
