While driving down the freeway the brake light came on and the brakes were soft until you reached the bottom. then the brakes would engage but would bring the truck to a sudden stop. in the middle of the freeway with 4 kids ranging from 2-12 and 3 adults it could have been a serious if not fatal accident. i managed to control the truck and get off the freeway. this has happened before but not in these driving conditions. my family was very distressed. i pulled into a local dealership to check it out since turning the vehicle off will reset the problem. i was told that the brake booster needed to be replaced because of a bad delta stroke sensor. this will cost approximately 928 dollars. this has been an ongoing problem and as i have researched the inherent i am not the only one. i pray no one has a serious accident. if the issue is recurring all over the country with the brake problem then recall it. i guess we will have to major accident for nissan to do something. *tr

While my wife was taking our kid to school, the brake light came on, and as she pressed on the brakes a grinding noise was heard and the truck was having a hard time stopping. luckily, she was far behind from any car or she would have hit someone. as soon as you turn off the vehicle, the problem goes away for a while. we have been fighting this for a while now. we took it to nissan the first time and they couldn't find anything wrong. last year, i decided to take it again to nissan when the problem reappeared and they told me that they had to reprogram the computer but since it was out of warranty i would have to pay. funny how as soon as the warranty had expired, they had a fix. i went ahead and pay thinking that would fix it. it's happened again several times and we normally just stop, turn off the vehicle and problem goes away. i finally decided to write this complaint since nissan does not appear or is unwilling to fix the problem. *tr

While driving my nissan armada 2004, my brakes light came on, brakes locked up, brakes pedal did not work and there was a loud grinding sound. was very scary for my children, husband and myself. pull my vehicle over to the side as far as i could. brake pedal did not work properly, was as if the vehicle was stopping dead in its tracks, but still moving. put my vehicle in park, turned off ignition and restarted it. brake light went off, no noise and pedal seemed to be working! *tr

I own a 2004 nissan armada le that i have owned since 2004. in 2007, i had an issue with the brakes, brake light coming on, brakes feeling crunchy, grinding noises and decreased braking power. that issue resolved on its own, but now it is happening again and more often. the brake light comes on, decreased braking power, etc. i have researched the web and found multiple forums where hundreds, if not thousands, of people who own the same vehicle are having the same problems. this is a major safety issue. with so many people having this issue, i feel it is a problem with the design and should be recalled. *tr

I purchased my nissan armada 2004 which has less than 68000 miles on it. recently i have been experiencing many problems with my truck. first, there was a brake recall in 2006 and the dealership replaced the front rotors and brake pads. once again there is a problem with the breaks. i was driving down the highway at 70mph and all of a sudden the brakes failed; luckily i was able to stop the car by using the parking brakes. after this event i took it to the dealership and advised that i needed a new break booster. my issue is that once i told nissan about my problems they informed me that the warranty is expired and they are no longer held accountable. but after doing some research i discovered i am not the only owner of an armada that is having difficulties. http://x.nissanhelp.com/forums/armada/18281-armada-brake-problems-dealer-telling-truth.html http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f0ffea4/0 i have provided two links that share what other customers are experiencing with the armada. if there are so many people that are having these difficulties nissan should have called for a recall or informed all customers to get trucks fixed of their problems before warranty expires. issues with brakes could result in serious injuries or death. *tr

Brakes stopped working! brake light came on when i tried to come to a stop i had maybe 20% brake usage. if i had not noticed the light coming on and had to stop in an emergency would have crashed for sure! i have 3 kids, a great grandmother and 2 other kids that i watch 5 days a week. these will be a tragedy if the problem is not fixed. i have taken it to the dealer a number of times to be told there is no problem. only for it to keep happening. please help us a force nissan to recall these models and repair so that we can be safe on our roads. *tr

Over the last few years my brake light comes on and brakes fail. this is a large suv, it is and will be fatal to not fix this problem. i have taken it to the dealer on numerous occasions for them to tell me that the can not find anything wrong with it. we have replaced the brakes alot to help the problem, still with no results. now i am being told it is a brake booster sensor that needs to be replaced. i have researched and their are 1,000's + of people having the same issue. please look out for the safety of us consumers and force nissan to recall the 2004-2006 models of pathfinder armadas. help before someone is seriously injured or killed. the brakes do not work properly!!!! if you turn the vehicle off and then restart the engine, it magically goes away- for a little while. but, the problem always returns. *tr

This is the 3rd time the brakes have failed since i purchased the used 2004 armada about 1.5yrs ago. the armada when purchased had approximately 123,000 miles on it. not long after i purchased while driving at 50mph the brake pedal went soft the brakes were at approximately 5% and there was an electrical grinding noise. after turning the vehicle off and on again the problem went away. i took the vehicle to nissan and was told that the rotors needed to be replaced because they were so thin the brake pads were having trouble gripping them and that was confusing the abs which is what i was hearing. i was also told the brake software needed to be updated at additional cost. i paid for everything to be done only to have the problem again a couple months later while driving slowly on a gravel surface. i contacted the dealer again and was told just to turn the vehicle on and off again and if it happens again to bring it in. while driving through a shopping center parking lot it happened again. brakes go out, peddle goes soft and electrical noise. i took the armada to the dealer again and was told this time the brake fluid needed to be replaced. i asked why wasn't that done when all the other work was performed only a few thousand miles earlier. they said it was not part of the work to replace the brakes. i paid to have the brake fluid replaced. recalls have been done on 2004 armadas for brake issues in the past, during my last visit to nissan i was told the module that controls all the braking system in my vehicle could be bad which may need to be replaced. i have to wait until my brakes fail again before they supposedly will know. nissan knows there are problems still with the 2004 armada braking system and should be made to recall them all to fix them. *tr

We bought a brand new 2004 nissan armada from brown&brown nissan in tempe arizona on may 12, 2004. the car has problem with alignment and brakes. the steering always lean to the right even run on the floated road, the whole car shaken when running on the rough road and breaking, window making noise when car shaken. we brought the vehicle back to the dealer and notify them about the problems that we had experienced on may 13, 2004. the service tech told us it is normal nothing wrong with the vehicle and said that nissan made all vehicles like that. we don't think this is right because all vehicles have to run straight not leaning to neither right or left side of the floated road and should moving smoothly not shaking when run on the rough road. this is concerned me about my family safety. brown&brown nissan sale managers wanted us to bring the car to service to get fix. since their service tech said the problems are normal and nothing wrong with the vehicle when those symptoms above occurred. we don't think it is a good idea to bring it to the service and let them fix it. so we had request to switch for another vehicle but the dealer general sale managers disputed and ignored my request and didn't care about customer satisfaction nor customer's safety. brown&brown's head manager don't talk to us since we don't want to bring the vehicle to the service even though we had call in a lot of times and request to talk to him or left him a message on his answer machine. now we are stuck with the lemon vehicle and don't know what we need to do next to protect our customer rights and our family safety. please help us to solve this problem and also save other people from bad car dealerships which selling bad car, treat customer with no respect, don't care about customer's satisfaction and specially don't care about customer's safety like brown&brown nissan dealership in tempe, arizona. *ak

Car began shaking when brakes applied at 13,000 miles. called dealer to see if this was uncommon or if other armada drivers were complaining and told they knew of no problem. took car into local auto store and was told the rotors were bad and to take back to the dealer since it was not common for this to happen so early. dealership turned rotors. same problem occurred 3000 miles later and brought back to dealer and asked for rotors not to be turned, but to fix the problem. they just turned the rotors again. seems they are just putting a bandaid until i have to pay for the problem myself. i have kids and feel very unsafe. i am ready to bring it in again because the car is shaking again. i have other issues, but they are just bothersome. this brake problem scares me and it is expensive to keep fixing this when it is out of warranty. help!!!!

Continuous brake shudder vibrates thru steering wheel. seats squeek. fuel gauge doesn't move to the full mark when fuel nozzle shuts off. this is the fourth time for the brake problem and the third time for the fuel gauge. they replace the brake pads and resurface the rotors and they replaced the fuel pump assembly all these problems in less than a year for my 2004 armada. why hasn't there been any recalls i see all these complaints and i've complained many times. i think we should be refunded our money on the vehicles or get a brand new vehicle. i have 22,000 miles. and i'm still waiting for these so called repair kits that there suppose to have its been months. what are we suppose to do when our warrenty runs out!!!

I purchased my 2004 nissan pathfinder armada in december 2004 with approx. 10 miles. around the turn of 4,000 miles, my vehicle began to shake uncontrollably when the brakes were applied. this shaking was so bad that the truck was unable to stop or steer properly. my wife and i have both narrowly avoided major potentially injurious accidents as a result of this problem. we stopped driving the vehicle because of safety conerns, but when this was brought up to the dealerships and nissan north america we were assured there was no safety issue. the dealership has assisted with the problem and provided a temporary fix to the problem. the dealer also explained that this temporary fix will not last very long and i'll have to come back within a few hundred to a thousand miles. the dealer assured me that they'd attempt to get the hardware to replace the source of the problem, inferior rotors that are too small for the truck, but until then i'll have to continue to pay for my inferior product. the most damaging statement made by the dealer, against the corporation, was that since so many vehicles had this problem and the corporation could not order enough parts fast enought to fix the faulty vehicles, nissan motors will not allow me to get a hardware package until you bring the vehicle in the third time. this was actual guidance put out by nissan motors to dealers to avoid a backlog. this was confirmed when i spoke with nissan motors north america on june 09, 2005. i have documented all of this information if anyone is interested in it. no one in my family was injured as a result of this, but it is probably only because we took our vehicle out of service voluntarily.

The nissan armada has been designed with a much inferior brake system, regarding to the size and weight of the armada. they had cut costs by installing a nissan frontier brake system which weighs about half the weight of a nissan armada. this has caused the brakes to give out every 5000 miles and also creates an unsafe braking system. it also allows the vehicle to dive when braking not giving a safe braking reaction time. the dealerships have constantly replaced my brakes (3 times within 15,ooo miles) and did admit that nissan has admitted to putting an inferior braking system.

Bought new armada in november 2004. it has been at the service center at bankston lewisville twice now. repeat problem with brake failure and steering wheel shaking. unibody creaks all the time. 2nd row seat belt failed twice, which threw my baby and her car seat into the back of the driver's seat!!! dash and consoles rattle all the time. wind noise is horrible! dealer said they will work on it. i called nissan consumer affairs and are waiting for a response from a regional specialist.*ak

The vehicle steering wheel kept on veering to the right while vehicle in occupying and got worse at braking. i have to constantly hold the steering wheel firmly and veer it to the left in order to keep the vehicle running straight. this will cause hundred of dollars to fix and could cause serious injury or death to people who driving it. the dealer said this is normal crown drift and don't do anything to fix the problem. i had contacted nissan manufacture concern about this problem. nissan addressed all vehicles are supposed to slightly veer to the right when your hand is removed from the steering wheel. this is a safety precaution that keeps vehicles from going into oncoming traffic in the event the driver falls asleep, has a heart attack, stroke, etc. i had been driving for 10 years and never hear about this before. i had drive the honda, toyota, dodge ram, acura, malibu, chevy and never experienced any veering of the steering wheel either to the right or left. i have been asking a lot of people about this everyone said all the vehicles have to go straight when running on a good leveled road. nissan didn't put any kind of writing or note on the contract, vehicle safety features or vehicle description to let the customers know that the vehicle will veer to the right due to safety precaution. accordingly to the contract the dealer has to let the customers any problem that the vehicle has. i had never been told that this vehicle will slightly veer to the right by sale rep, sale manager, and so on. please help me and other for our safety. thanks. *ak

*ak

Nissan armada brake issue for 2004-2006 model year. nissan usa is not acknowledging armada has issue with the brake system. while driving approximately 10-15 mph,i applied pressure to the brake pedal and the brake pedal fell to the floor. i heard a grinding noise coming from the brakes. i contacted nissan and they had me do a diagnostic at the dealer. nissan is still not doing anything to repair the brake.

Brake issue in 2004 nissan armada. brake in my vehicle came to less than 10% and with a 6000 pound vehicle with no brakes, i am prone to get into an accident. i have complained this issue to nissan file number 7181591 on 06/01/2011. they are not doing anything until there are enough complains to resolve the brake issue. my initial report for this issue was on 02/06/2011 confirmation number (odi number) is: 10380868.

Abs system on my 2004 nissan armada disengages while driving. leaving the driver with only the emergency brake. it appears to be a problem with thousands of armadas. abs re-engages after you shut down the motor and re-start the vehicle. it is my understanding the problem is due to a faulty abs sensor.

Today, my family & i almost bought the farm when the brakes went out on a freeway off ramp on our way back from phoenix. we exited the freeway at 70 mph and i applied the brakes to stop at the light. the brakes made a loud scraping noise, were non-functional and we were approaching cross traffic at 60 - 70 mph. i immediately dropped the car into neutral, started to apply the parking brake and headed for the dirt on the side of the road, figuring i would rather hit a tree or fence than t-bone a vehicle in the cross traffic. i was able to stop the vehicle by rubbing the passenger tires on the curb to create friction to stop. the vehicle mileage today is 61,707. the problem could not be duplicated as we had turned the vehicle off & apparently when restarted, it rebooted a sensor that caused the problem. (info from nissan dealer). this is the 3rd time in less than 3 months that this has happened. it is a severe safety issue and someone will end up dead due to this problem if nissan does not fix it.

Sometimes brakes make grinding noise, shutter through steering wheel, and massive front end vibration. during this time the brakes don't work very well. restarting car will alleviate problem. had a computer module changed but problem continues. brake light comes on. there are many many complaint about the same problem! it is very unsafe! *tr

I own a 2004 nissan armada. we bought this vehicle brand new in 2005 from the dealer. for aprx. 3 years now every couple of months the abs brake light comes on and the brake pedal get very hard, it makes it very difficult to brake. we found it that we can reset it back to normal by stopping, turning off the engine, waiting a minute and restarting the engine. when i took it to the dealer to get checked, they told me that nothing was wrong with the engine or brakes. since they couldn't get the problem to occur in front of them, they said that there's nothing they can do. i expressed my concerns about being a safety issue, they told be to take the vehicle without turning it off whenever this happens, i explained that i will not put my family in danger, driving with a hard to brake vehicle, they said then just to turn off the vehicle and reset it and the problem will go away. this problem happens maybe about every 3 months for apx the past 3 years. fortunately we haven't got into and accident but this a concern to me. up to now i didn't know who to report it to, but after watching resent reports about another veh company on tv, i decided to notify you. *tr

About once a month my brakes go out for no apparent reason. the dealer doesn't know what's wrong and through research online i am not the only one having this problem. it's only a matter of time before they go out when i really need them. the dealer re-did my computer but the problem happened again after this supposed fix. *tr

The first incident happened twice just prior to july 1st, again on july 4th, and the last incident was july 12th, 2009. after the first 3 incidents once i turned off the vehicle it went back to normal and the dashboard lights went off. however, on july 12th, while driving on the highway, the dash board lights for the breaks and abs system all lit up. there was vibration and then the back brakes made this horrible sound like metal hitting metal. i turned the vehicle off and the problem didn't correct and the brake was not engaging properly. i took the vehicle back to the dealership where i bought the car only to find out that they were no longer a nissan dealer. i took it to the mechanic i use for my other vehicle and he put my nissan armada 2004 pathfinder on the lift and checked the brakes. the brakes were in good condition but he said the abs system would have to be checked by a nissan dealership. i only have 28,815 mile on my vehicle and the downey nissan dealership told me that they would update the abs computer system but that the vehicle needed a new brake booster because there was an electrical problem in the brake booster and it would need to be replaced. i googled the nissan brake booster problems and found that this has been happening to many nissan armada and could not find a recall. i am afraid to drive my vehicle because of the possibility of crashing if the brake fails to engage or worse. the dealer asked nissan to honor in good faith the warranty because my car was in very good condition and hd only at 28,815 miles less than the 36,000 mile warranty albeit past 3 years. nissan refused. *tr

Once every 2 to 3 weeks, i hit the brakes in my 2004 nissan pathfinder armada and it makes a horrible grinding noise and nothing happens, the vehicle doesn't stop. the emergency brake light comes on. i was told by a friend that repairs nissans for the employees at the nissan canton plant that this was a common occurrence for that model vehicle and it was a sensor that was bad. he said they have replaced numerous sensors on employees vehicles. i'm wondering why there was never a recall. apparently, they have improved things since the initial armada was created, but that doesn't get my vehicle fixed. i have 3 children and someone is going to get hurt one day. i am a single parent and can't afford the repair. i have taken it to the shop numerous times, but apparently when the vehicle is cut off, the sensor resets and the vehicle won't mess up for my repair person. i can't afford to take it to a dealership for them to investigate the problem. also, my main window switch will not roll up my windows. my rear hatch will not unlock. my main switch will not unlock all of my doors. *tr

While driving my vehicle at approx 45mph i was coming up upon a traffic light intersection and attempting to slow down. when i applied the brakes, the brake pedal went to the floor and i heard a loud grinding noise from the front of the vehicle. luckily i was able to get through the intersection without injuring or killing someone. i immediately pulled to the side of the road and called for assitance. the vehicle was checked out by my mechanic and he advised me that a c1179 dtc was showing up in the computer. he also said tsb was on file for this problem but that i would need to take it to the dealer to have it fixed. i scheduled an appointment with the dealer and they performed the repair. a week later, i was driving the vehicle and the same thing happened, the brake pedal went to the floor, the grinding noise was heard. i have another appointment scheduled with the dealer. nissan must be aware of this serious problem and should do something about it. there are many complaints for this problem when i searched the web. i also found a lawsuit against nissan that is being heard in us district court on 4/26/12. the nhtsa should act on this quickly before someone is injured or killed. nissan has done nothing accept charge for the repairs.

When i first purchased car the brakes went out at 3000 miles and i've continued to have a problem ever since.nissan fixed the brake judder but another issue arose.now whenever it wants the brakes just go out.i've had the car in the shop multiple times for this problem.i have to shut car off and restart as if some electrical component is resetting.this has never been fixed and now i'm out of warranty.nissan can't find the problem or just doesn't want to take the time to fix.this is leading to a very unsafe vehicle because there is no telling when it will happen again.

While exiting the interstate, went around the exit ramp. the brakes depressed farther than normal and made a grinding sound. the brake indicator lights came one. the vehicle shook while i tried to brake. i narrowly missed the guardrail and managed to keep the vehicle in control. i was able to slow down, although it took longer than it should have, and i drove slowly to a service station nearby. the vehicle was examined, and i was told i had been driving with the parking brake on and that the brakes had just heated up. i wasn't driving with the parking break on though. it happened again a few weeks later and was taken to a different service station. they informed me that it needed to go to the dealer to have the service codes pulled, and that there had been braking issues with the model and year. further investigation online revealed it can be fixed by shutting car off. it has happened several times since then, at random times with no antecedent. i drive cautiously and leave plenty of braking room, as i am nervous about the performance of the brakes and my ability to stop. please have nissan address and fix this dangerous problem!

I was driving down highway when i heard a light knock and noticed brake light on. when i tried to apply brakes they started making a grinding sound and it was very hard to stop the vehicle. i pulled over to a nearby parking lot and turned vehicle off, when i restarted brake light was off and brakes where working. this has happened several times. mechanic said brakes were fine each time.

With in five minutes of driving the brake light came on and when the brakes were applied, there was a lack of brake pressure and a grinding sound was heard. the vehicle had very minimal breaking power and i would not be able to stop the vehicle by the brakes alone, coasting is required. if the vehicle is turned off and restarted, the system will reset and the brakes will return to normal operating condition. within the last year this has happened at least once a month. last year, the brake light came on and i carefully drove it 2-3 miles to a local nissan dealership. they ran a diagnosic test, while the brake light was on, which revealed a failure of the delta stroke sensor (c1179). i asked the mechanic to drive it and experience the lack of brakes but by the time he drove it the system had reset itself. the diagnosis cannot be done unless the brake light is on. there are numerous complaints online about other's having this problem as well as class action lawsuit pending.

While driving at only 10 mph coming to a stop at a stop sign, the brake light came on and the brake failed to work. a grinding and scrapping noise was made and eventually the vehicle came to a stop. turned the car off and on again then brake light turned off and brakes worked fine. this has happened 7-10 times since then at spuratic times. the last time i was on the highway going 60 mph with my 3 children in the car. this is going to kill someone if it is not taken care of. i have had the brakes and rotors done twice. i continually take it to the dealer for them to find something wrong and repair it, each time i am told nothing can be found. please fix this problem!!! it is extremely dangerous.

Sudden and complete failure of the braking system. brake pedal becomes hard to push and the brakes issue a scrapping and grinding noise. very scary. brakes become unusable and it is clear that the abs controller has somehow come one at an inappropriate time such that the braking system is not operating properly. if this occurred at high speed, it would surely cause a major accident. this has happened several times with this vehicle and there are many other accounts with other vehicle. you are referred to the website of armada.com for the same. nissan should have recalled these vehicles long ago for repairs. i am told that some dealers are reprogramming the computer and are charging owners for this inherent defect in these vehicle and poor design from the factory. this rampant condition which affects thousands of vehicle in the u.s. both nissan armada of all years 2004-present and nissan luxury companion vehicles under the infinity qx design. the above prevalent defect is a clear and present danger to all owners of armada and qx vehicles. nissan knows about this, but has failed and refused to issue a recall. they should be directed to do so, or be heavily penalized for failure to repair these vehicle to prevent future injury to vehicle owners and their families. updated 08/31/11 *bf

2004 nissan armada brake failure while driving, this is at random times causing us to panic in traffic.this has been an on going problem with no fix and this is very scary and unsafe.and the only solution is hope that you get to a safe place without injuries or death occuring. turn it off and back on and drive until it does it again. so taking a risk everyday and praying that something be done with this is like an awakening nightmare waiting to happen just don't know when. thanks for your cooperation with this safety issue.

2004 nissan armada; i've been monitoring these reports for years and find it ridiculous that nissan is incompetent in dealing with this issue. this has been an issue since the advent of the armada platform. i have had this same abs issue since we purchased the car in feb 2005. although the issue can be resolved or reset by turning off the engine and restarting, it does nothing to ward off close calls in traffic or busy streets with pedestrians. i've heard everything from replacing the computer, brake booster, pressure equalization valve...etc. these are all blind attempts to do something if not anything. the problem needs to be resolved definitely and the remedy applied unilaterally across the armada line. the grinding noise, i believe is not at the rotors, it is a spring like resonance that comes from the brake booster and the millisecond pressure reaction to each of the wheels. it sounds like someone hits a large coil spring with a hammer. i can't tell, but is this problem limited to just the 2004 models? come on nissan...do the right thing before someone gets hurt!
08/03/201171000
Driving 2004 nissan armada se off road travelling at low speed (20 mph or less) in traffic. brake light comes on in the dashboard, brake pressure goes to near nothing (have to push pedal all the way to floor to stop car) and brakes make a grinding noise under the steering column. car stops eventually but no confidence car would stop suddenly. problem is fixed temporarily if car is turned off and restarted. happens intermittently could go 3-4 weeks without a problem, but everytime seems to be at low speed in traffic with repetitive use of the brakes. nissan dealer can't replicate problem and can't diagnose problem without seeing car with brake failure indicator still on. they are recommending potentially replacing abs computer $1,500 but no guarantee that will fix problem.

I have a 2004 nissan armada, and i was driving when the brake light came on and the abs system engaged on its on and i lost braking power. i shut the car off and the problem went away this is a very serious problem that someone can get hurt or be killed from. i contacted nissan, and im going to take it to the dealership for diagnosis. please look into this matter before someone dies.

Symptom: nissan vehicle looses braking ability when this symptom happens. brake light comes on the dashboard, brake pedal goes all the way to the floor, and there is grinding noise from the front end toward the wheels. vehicle braking ability is reduced to 10% or less. turning ignition off/on resolves for short time, but not a permanent fix. nissan has tsb ntb06-040 to clear the code c1179 from brake module. i had preformed at my cost and issue came back. called nissan and opend a file number 7181591, but they are blaming it on me, not the flaw that is happening to 100's of other armadas including me. i am requesting safecar.gov to probe nissan about the brake issue that is affecting 2004 armada, titan, and infinity qx56 and to find out if they are doing anything to fix it. links of discussion on different forums: http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f0ffea4/0 http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-problems-dealer-service/111660-brake-light-came-soft-abs-feeling-pedal-2.html http://www.clubarmada.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12333

We have a 2004 nissan armada that has had complete brake failure. what happens is the brakes begin to jump/jitter and then there is 100% brake failure---there are no brakes period! we've talked to nissan and taken the car to the dealership and they say there is nothing wrong with the brakes. we don't know what else to do, we can't sell the suv because we would be passing a life threatening problem to someone else and we cannot drive it because the brakes will fail. to solve the problem at the time they fail obe has to turn off the car, remove the key from the start switch, and then turn the engine again. this seems like the type of problem that the computer controls since the problem temporarily disappears after resetting the computer. can you help? *tr

We own a 2004 nissan armada which we purchased less than 1 year ago. since then, there has been 3 or more instances in which i've lost complete braking on the car. the last incident occurred this january 13th. i've taken the vehicle to a local specialized brake shop and was subsequently told that there is a known defect with the abs system and subsequently triggering the brake and abs sensors on the dash to light up. we verified this with nissan and they too acknowledged that there is a known defect with regards to the abs malfunctioning causing the vehicle to lose breaking at low speeds. after calling nissan they have refused to recall this known defect and have offered to try and find the cause by starting out with replacing break sensors, abs computer, master cylinder with all costs incurred on us and no guarantee the problem would be fixed. the car has the abs system disabled at the moment so i can get to and from picking my children up from school. however, i cannot drive the vehicle under wet conditions as it could be dangerous to do so. nissan should be held accountable and we should not have to pay out of our pocket to resolve a known defect that could cause serious injury or death. *tr

2004 nissan armada - brake failure. this is an on-going problem. i have contacted nissan in the past to open a claim. the person on the phone recommended i take it to the dealer (which we had done at least 3 times prior). we took it to the dealer and they indicated that there was 'no trouble/problem found' (only one time prior did they update the code to the computer - all other times - no trouble found). i mention that we have taken it to the dealer 3 or 4 times, but according to my wife who drives this car every day, this happens to her at least once a month - that is over 20 times since we have owned it! i cannot afford to keep taking my car to the dealer, renting a car for the day - just to have 'no trouble found'. quite frankly, my wife does not feel safe driving the car. i know there have been other incidents of this problem registered. i just would like it fixed once and for all so my wife and children do not have to keep putting their lives at risk, wondering if the brakes are going to work or not. please help. *tr

My wife has a 2004 nissan armada and i have a 2004 nissan titan. both vehicles have had a total failure of the abs system twice in the last month. the symptoms are a grinding noise form the brakes, the brake warning light on, and inefficient stopping power no matter the amount of pressure exerted on the pedal. after shutting down the engine and restarting, the symptoms disappear. the computer does not record any failure code and the dealer explained that nissan has a technical bulletin that specifies to reprogram the vehicle computer but it does not guarantee the problem will not recur. neither is this procedure covered under the warranty of the vehicle. i researched the problem in nissan internet forums and it looks like it is a fairly common problem as i was able to find numerous reports of the same. i think this is a major safety issue since it does affect the stopping ability of the vehicle, and almost assures an accident if the vehicle is traveling at anything more than parking lot speeds. *tr

The brakes on my nissan armada intermittently go out. this usually happens when pushing hard on the brakes to make a sudden stop. the only solution is to turn the car off and press the e-brake a couple of times then release it. the problem has almost killed me twice, but luckily i was able to swerve out of the way both times. i have brought the problem to my mechanic who has grinded down the rotors and replaced the brakes, but to no avail the problem keeps occurring. so far we have lost our brakes in this mammoth vehicle about 5 times. *tr

This happens randomly and not on a regular basis. sometimes once a week other times twice a week. when you bring the vehicle to a stop be it a stop sign or light, it does stop the vehicle no problem, but upon taking your foot off the brake and trying to drive away, the brakes will not release. if you try and drive the vehicle, it makes all kinds of noise and will barely move. this has happened so many times, that i learned how to get the brakes to release. upon this happening, you put the car in park, shut the engine off, wait a minute and restart the vehicle and the brakes are fine. i have gone to the dealership many times and they say nothing is wrong with the vehicle, and of course they always say we cannot not duplicate the problem. i know this is a common problem because i belong to a forum for nissan armada's call club armada. there are many complaints of this issue, yet nissan doesn't want to admit this problem. this vehicle is not safe and it scares me to think what these brakes might do. nissan never again! *tr

Right after we purchased this car, the problem started, the brakes locked up the brake light comes on, i have to put it in neutral to turn it off start it back to get it to quit. the brakes grab but the car doesn't stop. took it to the dealer and they couldn't find the problem unless it was doing it when we took it in. i have no warning. i have kids and it amazes me that with close to 100 complaints nissan would take action. all they are doing is putting the cost of a vehicle above a human life. this is the first time i have purchased a nissan and this will be my last. i warn people not to buy this type of car. i will even go out of my way to tell them if i see them looking at them on a lot. if nissan isn't going to do anything to fix this problem even if it means replacing the brake system then we as consumers should warn others before some one looses their life. but that may be what it takes before some big company will fix the problem. everyone is having the same problem so for the life of me i cant figure out why they wont look into it.. makes you wonder if they would drive one of these cars. the number of failures are far more then what i listed. it caused me to go thru a stop sign and by the grace of god no other cars were around. i really don't want my 17 year old driving it with this kind of problem. the funny thing is if nissan would take the time to fix the problem they may have repeat customers. not me not ever again. i am going back to chevy then next time i buy. *jb

We purchased a 2004 nissan armada in march of 2004. since almost day one we have had ongoing brake problems (mostly rotor and caliper related). in january of 2006, my wife and three of my children were in the car when the brakes completely failed. fortunately, my wife was able to drive up an embankment and stop the vehicle before anyone was hurt. the diagnosis was a failed delta stroke sensor in the brake booster. a repair was made, but since that time we experienced intermittent warning lights for the vehicle dynamic control and slip. last week we started to experience severe steering wheel and brake vibration. we took the vehicle in for service and the diagnosis was a failed abs unit, a burned out 4 wheel drive computer, and a failed switch in the brake booster. these parts have been replaced, but the vehicle is still showing errors when hooked up to the diagnostic computer and is still under repair, but nobody is sure (including nissan) what the problem is. i feel that this vehicle is unsafe to drive. *nm

I have a 2004 nissan armada and was traveling at low speed when the brakes failed. the vehicle rolled out into the intersection before stopping. just prior to stopping it felt like the abs was trying to engage, but the pavement was not slippery. i drove slowly and tried the brakes a few more times and every time it felt like the abs was kicking in, but the braking was severly diminished. i drove the vehicle slowly)about 1 mile to a dealership. turned the vehicle off, and when we turned it back on again , the problem was gone. the tech nician did a code scan and found that the abs needed to be reprogrammed, which was being done now. i dod a search on the internet and this seemed prevelant in the 2004 armadas and titans. my concern that the complaints i have read showed that this continuedc to recur even after the reprogramming. if this happened unexpectedly at high speed and a panic stop the results will be catastrophic. this should be investigated. thanks. *ak

2004 nissan pathfinder armada. purchased at 11488 miles on 11/5/05. experienced very slight vibration when braking at high speed on way home. also experienced periodic groan or thump when gently braking, mostly while turning. vibration continued to increase until steering became unmanageable while braking. difficult to be without a car so we couldn't take the car in until 1/10/07 at 22030 miles. our mechanic said they were the worst warped rotors he had ever seen and had them turned. he also replaced 50% nissan pads with carquest ceramic pads. two days later, the vibration was back and dramatically increased over 1000 mile road trip until we took car to dealer on 3/2/07 at 24,140 miles. steering now completely unmanageable! dealer wouldn't honor warranty because we had carquest pads on car. also told us that warranty work had been done on rotors at about 7000 miles under original owner. dealer turned rotors and installed nissan pads and informed us that we were now back under warranty until 36000 miles or 8/07. don't feel safe on road, especially after reading posts of complete brake failure, yet need a car to drive on trips. please issue recall. *jb

One day last summer, the brakes on my armada failed to work properly. the brake pedal felt like it depressed more than normal and the car did not feel like it was going to stop. when the brake pedal was depressed firmly the car would come to an immediate stop. loud noises coming from near the front of the car could be heard. i drove very carefully across town to horizon nissan notifying the service writer that i would be there shortly. i pulled in. turned the car off. a service advisor came with me for a test drive . the car did not have the problem. i was informed that perhaps a rock got stuck in my brakes and fell out after i turned the car off. two more times, the brakes failed to operate in a safe manner. i pulled off the road. turned the car off. turned the car on and the brakes worked normal. once again, today, the brakes failed to work properly. while waiting at the intersection at a red light, i thought i could reset the brakes to work. turned the car off, on, and the brake light stayed on and the brakes did not work. i arrived at my destination and tested the brakes again. turned the car off - on. brake light went off, but came on after about 10 seconds. i then had the car towed to the dealership as i am very weary of driving the car anywhere not knowing when the brakes are going to act up. *nm

October 5, 2005 re: vin# 5n1aa08a64n722334 (2004 nissan armada) the brakes are defective and do not work properly when applying pressure to stop. we have never received any notification from nissan disclosing any brake issues or concerns. we have always been the ones to inform the dealer of our problems each time even though there was a nissan bulletin in existence. last month (september, 2005) was the first time we received a letter from nissan with respect to the brakes and they have informed all of the nissan armada owners that they will allow unlimited mileage/or up to 36 months to fix anything that has to do with the brakes. after four times getting the brakes fixed the brakes are still defective. the brakes are a hazard to me and my family as well as to others on the road. the brakes vibrate intensely and causes the whole car to shake and vibrate not just the steering wheel. it is hard to control the steering wheel and the vehicle itself is hard to control. my wife and my child are not riding in the vehicle at all and we had bought this vehicle to have as our new safe family vehicle but it is not safe at all. we have begun the process allowed under the massachusetts new car lemon law and other possible options including court action. just yesterday on october 4th, i (dino) while driving on the highway was almost in a three car accident i had applied my brakes going 50 mph to avoid a another car changing lanes without a signal and when i applied the brakes to avoid the car the brakes vibrated so much and the steering wheel and the whole car shook, i lost control of the vehicle and spun around to the breakdown lane thankfully, and was not hit from behind. i am formally informing the nhtsa of this and am praying that these vehicles are taken off the road before accidents occur and god forbid someone is injured or killed. anastasia papagiannis and dino papagiannis, 245 pond street winchester, ma 01890, h#1-781-721-1927, w#-617-728-7307. *nm

Dt: the contact owns a 2004 nissan armada 4 wheel drive. the contact complained about a brake problem, especially the front brakes. he has already decided that it was the front brakes because he could not stop the vehicle. . also, brake rotors warped and faded. there was 14,000 miles on the vehicle, and he has been having this problem since purchasing the vehicle. he refused to let his wife or family drive the vehicle because it was unsafe. at first he thought this problem was caused by the disc brakes, pads, and the rotors that rusted, but afterwards he decided that this was caused the vehicle sitting on the lot. but since the problem became progressively worse when braking hard at highway speeds. the brakes will shutter and fade. this vehicle was made with the highest towing package and when towing something he felt like he was going to crash with this vehicle because it got so worse. he contacted a dealership and spoke with the manufacturer. the dealership told him that they were going to replace the brakes by a by owner basis but had no plans in making this a recall. there has almost been several accidents with this problem. he retired from the sheriff' s department and has been to professional driving school. therefore, the contact did know how vehicles were suppose to be handled. *ak

We have experienced problems with the abs system on our 2004 nissan armada since early 2006. periodically while driving the brake light will illuminate, when brakes are applied the abs system activates and the brakes are very spongy. when released it sounds as though a big spring is released. each time (approx 8 previously) we've driven very slow to a safe location, turned the vehicle off and back which resets the system. the occurrence happens at various speeds from 25-70 mph. on one occasion i was able to take the vehicle to the dealership during malfunction. although observed, the weekend technician failed to properly relay the situation to the regular technician resulting in no action taken. each time we were assured if normal brakes failed, would still have brakes with abs. the system also malfunctions on initial start up, when turned off and restarted the system is reset. most recent occurrence was 5/11/2007, i contacted my current dealership and scheduled an appointment. on 5/14/2007, they found the dtc c1179 delta sensor out of program, it was reprogrammed under ntb06-040 program. malfunction occurred again during initial startup of vehicle on 5/19/2007, taking vehicle back for service. *tr

2004 nissan armada se , normal highway driving conditions , partial brake failure, feels like brakes are applying abs ( large pulsations in peddle) brakes feel maybe half as effective at stopping the vehicle as opposed to when the brakes are working properly. this failure is accompanied by a loud metal on metal sound. based on my findings this appears to be a software problem and is easily fixed with a reflash of the vehicles computer. this problem could lead to many accidents and when a vehicle this big and heavy can't stop the accident's could likely be fatal . i'm posting on here in the hope that other people who have not yet had this problem can be at least be aware of it. *tr

I purchased my nissan armada in dec. 2003. on 10/8/04, my wife told me the vdc off light, the slip light and the brake light were illuminated. i immediately contacted the dealer and he had me bring it right in. the service manager told me on the spot he thought it was the brakes. he was correct. he must have had experience with armada brake problems to know right away. the vehicle had 17000 miles on it and it needed a whole front axle brake job. the price tag was $206.00 and the vehicle was laid up for over a day. i was very upset so i contacted nissan consumer affairs. the customer service rep actually told me that this was normal wear and tear and that i should understand it is a heavy vehicle. i purchased this vehicle for my wife as a pleasure vehicle, but i also wanted a vehicle that could tow a boat in the future. the armada is rated at 9100 pounds towing capacity. i have never towed anything with this vehicle. imagine how soon the brakes would have failed if i used it to tow on a regular basis. also, referring back to the customer service rep, the vehicle may be heavy but it also needs to stop the weight of the cargo it is towing. i would hope the engineers that designed this vehicle took that into consideration and installed heavy duty brakes. this vehicle obviously has brakes installed that are not heavy duty enough. i bought a nissan altima in 1995 and i still own it. there was no question when nissan came out with the armada, that we would consider it first for a luxury sport utility vehicle. well, my love affair with nissan has come to an abrupt halt and now i wish i had taken my $40,000 to toyota. *nm

I bought a new 2004 nissan armada. only 3 months after driving, i started to have problems with the brakes. it started with excessive brake dust and squeaking barkes. this turned into a grinding sound when brakes were applying within another month, eventually leadingthe brake shudder. the stearing wheel started to shake as i applieid the brakes. i took the car into nissan of bakersfield to have the car serviced. the employee who scheduled my appointment informed me that all 2004 and 2005 armada and titans had problems with the brake system. she informed me that they were aware of the probelm with the brake system not being able to carry the weight of the car, therfore the brakes buckel under pressure causing damage to the rotors and brake pads. i had to take my car in a month later to get the brakes serviced again, due to the same problem.

I purchased a nissan armada in april 2004 and two months later had to bring it to dealer for repair as the brakes were shuddering causing tremendous shimmy in the steering wheel. the dealership, nissan thousand oaks, did not replace the warped rotors, instead switching them around and replacing the brake pads. the additional problem of a rattle and squeaking sound from dashboard resulted in the dealership realigning the dashboard properly. two months later i was back at the dealership to fix the brakes again. this time i demanded that the inferior rotors be replaced with higher-quality rotors. they replaced the factory-installed rotors with new rotors (told better quality rotors) and they also had to replace the brake pads again. additionally, there i was experiencing an intermittent problem with the a/c; it would sometimes run very hot air. they checked it out and found that the clutch fan needed to be replaced; this part is on order and i will have to return for installation. also, i asked them to once again fix a squeaking and rattling issue that seemed to be coming from the dashboard again and also intermittent failure of the stereo controls located on the steering wheel. according to their mechanics, the sound problem and stereo controls problem did not occur while my vehicle was in their possession. a week later, august 12, 2004, i had to return to have the clutch fan replaced and this time i also requested that one of their mechanics drive the vehicle with me so that i could point out the squeaking issue. the mechanic heard the sound problem this time and i am told they will try to fix this issue. i have not had a problem again, as yet with the stereo controls on the steering wheel.

I purchased a 2004 nissan armada on 12-28-04. since that time the vehicle has been in for service on several occasions. the largest problem being the bad vibration and shake of the vehicle when braking. nissan has replaced the pads and rotors, which has not corrected the problem. on september 7, 2006 i was at nissan again, and was told that nissan would no longer make these required repaired repairs. i was also told by a mechanic that the real problem is that the brakes and rotors put on the 2004 armada are too small for the weight of the vehicle, and that is why the problem exists. nissan must correct this problem before someone is injured or killed as a result this serious mechanical problem. the next issue is with the rear sonar system. the problem is that when it rains the rear sonar goes off when the vehicle is placed in reverse. i have taken this to nissan for repair or replacement on several occasions. the replaced the system once, and the problem has recurred. i was told by the nissan service manager that nissan is working to find out what the problem is with the system. however, i have not seen a service bulletin or recall for this problem. the last problem is that since june 17, 2006 nissan has replaced four (4) radios in my vehicle. i was told that nissan uses radios manufactured by clarion in my vehicle, and that there have been problems with the radios. if this is so nissan should go to a more reliable company. on september 8, 2006 i made a call to nissan customer service. i was assigned file # 5460708, and told a company representative would get in touch with me. since nissan is unable or unwilling to correct these important problems, especially with the brakes, i am request the assistance of your agency in this matter. *nm

Purchased a new 2004 armada in august 2004. had nothing but problems with the car. i recently was involved in an accident because of brake failure. the car was taken to nissan immediately after the body was repaired for them ,to repair the brakes. mid city nissan in chicago informed me that they would not repair the vehicle because the body shop damaged the brakes. this was ridiculous because the car was in the accident in the first place due to brake failure. . also, the initial inspection revealed, that previous to any body work done, the rotors/ calipers, and the pads were defective. nissan was well aware of this problem, yet they did nit want to admit it. in addition, the employees of mid city were extremely rude and confrontational. they were not helpful in any way. driver's side window did not always roll up, and the stereo's volume faded in and out. however, mid city did not want to repair these problems either because there was nothing wrong with the car. this was the worst truck i have ever owned, and i will never buy another nissan. i cannot believe how poor their customer service is. i agree with a previous post, i should have brought my $40,000 to toyota. *ak

Complete brake failure-- vehicle: 2004 nissan armada le this vehicle has been in the shop (dealer) several times with brake issues. the rotors have been turned and replaced and turned again. nissan has not as of yet corrected the problem. about a week ago, i was making a stop at an intersection when the brake pedal went completely to the floor. i pumped the pedal and got enough pedal to be able to stop. on exam of the brake system, i found that the brake fluid reservoir was over half empty. why? i do not know. i added fluid and the brake problem appeared to be corrected. i took the vehicle to the dealer and requested it be examined to see if they could determine if there was a leak of some kind that may have caused the fluid level to get low. in checking out the vehicle, the problem occurred again with the technician. they could not determine the cause.*ak

Brakes developed a bad problem with vibrations when braking which acutally giggled the steering wheel. problem was first repaired at 5,000 miles and they serviced it by turning the rotors. problem reoccured at 11,000 miles and it was serviced again. this time the rotors could not be turned and they had to replace the rotors, pad kit, and boot kit. at 16,000 miles the problem once again reoccured and at the time the service dept. said that nissan has not found a permanent fix for this problem and they once again turned my rotors. i have since called nissan and was told by their representative that nissan is only providing counter-meaures and has not found a fix and has no date when one will be avail. i feel it is a major safety issue since these problems have occured without evening towing anything and i am pursuing the lemon law in the state of washington. it is unreasonable to expect people to drive a vehicle which has to have a major break service perfomed every 5,000 miles just to be somewhat safe.*ak

My 2004 nissan pathfinder armada is in serious need of a larger braking system. after only 5500 miles of mostly highway driving my nissan developed a front brake shudder indicating the rotors were warped. i took it to the brown & brown dealer in mesa, az where i bought it. they seemed to know what the problem was and assured me it would be fixed. there are several other problems with my truck suchas, bubbles in the windshield a leaky sunroof that shudders when closing, the dimmer switch for the interior lights wasn't even connected. i found a loose bolt on the floorboard. there was no explanation of where it belongs. i guess i'll find out later. the auto roll-up feature for the front windows is faulty. the service guy says nissan is researching it. its been two months. how long does it take a multi-billion dollar company to come up with a solution? are they too busy designing next year's lemons? i've owned 5 other nissan without any problems. is it canton, mississippi? *nm

Serveral issues, the main issue is the brakes, and rotors. @ 7000 miles, the rotors were turned, steering wheel was pulsating, service department turned rotors. at 11,000 miles, the sterring wheel resumed pulsating along with the brake, slip, and vdc light activated on the control panel. i was told by the service dept. my brake fluid was low, perhaps leaking and the brakes require changing at my cost, the warrenty does not cover the brake issue. i told the service dept. this was unacceptable, i will not pay for new brakes, at such low mileage. my reasearch has led me to believe earlier on this will be a continuing issue regarding the rotors and brakes. to make a long story short, it has been almost a month, the brakes are still on back order, the light signals i had described earlier are still lighting up like a xmas tree. i am more than frustrated with this on going issue. i have contacted nissan, i was assured i would recieve a call back within 2 business days, that was 2 1/2 weeks ago. i am afraid to drive this vehicle. my confidence in nissan is moot. you would think i drive constantly. i use the commuter bus to go back and forward to work. my drive daily is 3 miles. everything is on back order. i am still waiting for an interior part for this vehicle since june.*ak

I purchased the new nissan armada on 1/18/04. towards the middle of march, i noticed my steering wheel was vibrating and that it was getting harder to stop. i took the truck in on 3/29/04 (appx 3000 mi) to find out that the brake rotors were out of round. the dealership resurfaced the rotors and the vibrations stopped. at approximately 5000 miles the issue arose again. i took the truck in 6/17/04 (5760 mi) and found out that the rotors were out of round and that the pads had to be replaced. the advisor told me mine was the 5th armada she had in for the same problem and that one gentleman's rotors were so bad that they were cracked. unfortunately, the dealer was out of parts and i had to drive the car until 7/19 (another month) before the dealer could get the parts replace. during that time, the vehicle was very difficult to keep straight when breaking, even at slow speeds. the vehicle's steering wheel would violently vibrate and twist from side to side, causing me to have to grasp hold of the steering wheel with a lot of pressure. the dealership replaced the rotors and pads on 7/19. i wouldn't recommend weaker individuals try to drive the vehicle, and demand that the dealership provide a rental car. it appears that this is a critical vehicle components that may break, fall apart, or separate from the vehicle causing loss of vehicle control, or injury to persons inside or outside the vehicle. i would recommend an immediate recall. *jb

We purchased vehicle new in november of 2003 with only 10 miles on odometer. after five months of ownership and only 6,280 miles, the front wheels began to shimmy really bad during braking. i took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated the front rotors were warped. the reason or logic they gave was this was probably due to the rotors becoming wet and heated under braking during the rainy period. the repair for this problem was to remove the from tires and do an on vehicle turn of the rotors as i waited which took about an hour and a half. so far, so good, but i expect to be back in a few months. i expressed my concerns to nissan during my feedback on the customer survey form but have not received a reply. *la

This a complaint regarding my 2004 nissan pathfinder armada se which currently has 23k miles. it started on 9/7/05, while driving over the speeds of 55 mph, when applying the brakes they lock up & don't work. the warning light for the brakes came on the dash. i took the car to dealer & they stated the problem was that the rotors were out of round. they replaced the front rotors & pads, they also turned the rear rotors & replaced the rear pads. this was on 9/7/05. on 4/21/07 while driving on a major highway, i attempted to apply my brakes & the brakes did not work & the vehicle would not stop. the brake warning light came on the dash & on the same day, we took the vehicle to the dealer & they ran a diagnostic check on the vehicle & they found that one of the codes had an error. the dealer reprogrammed the computer system to correct the problem. on 3/17/08, i was driving & i attempted to apply my brakes, when the brakes failed, the emergency brakes did not work & the warning light came on again on the dash. once again i took the vehicle to the dealer, i advised them at the dealer that this was the third time i had been there for the same issue. they advised that they would need to do a diagnostic test, in which i would have to pay out of pocket since the vehicle is no longer under warranty. this time they said that it was an internal failure & the brake booster needed to be replaced & that this may not fix the problem. i was advised by the technician at the dealer that the manufacturer is aware of the this problem. of course, this resolution was not offered or advised in my previous visits as it would have been paid under the warranty. conveniently, i was told about this after my warranty expired & after paying $1,000.00 out of my pocket to fix. these vehicles are a safety hazard to have on the road & you never know when the brakes are going to fail. *tr

Ever since i purchased this car (2004 nissan pathfinder armada) in december 2003 i am experiencing some brake problems and the dealer has been trying to solve the problem and it is getting worse. the car had only about 3000 miles when it all started. i cooperated with the dealer because he said they were aware of the problem and that nissan's engineers are working to solve the problem and now i cannot invoke the lemon law because it has been over a year, at least this is what a lawyer told me today. anyway, the car started to brake on its own without anyone applying the brakes and the emergency brake lights comes on when this happens. i had it towed to the dealer and they said there was a leak in the master cynlinder. they replaced it after 2 weeks and while my wife was taking the car home, the same problem occured again. this time the dealer is blaming the problem on the brake boosters. they will not have a replacement available before 3 to 6 weeks. the major incident occured on september 29, 2005 but the overall brake problems started in march 2004.
