Defect SummaryNissan is recalling certain model year 2005-2009 titan, armada, and infiniti qx56 vehicles. the instrument panel fuel gauge may inaccurately display that the vehicle still has some fuel, typically about one quarter tank, when the fuel tank is empty.
Consequence SummaryThis could cause the vehicle to run out of gas and stall on the highway, which could cause a crash.
Corrective SummaryDealers will replace the fuel sender unit inside the fuel tank with a new improved sender card. this service will be performed free of charge. the safety recall began on march 22, 2010. owners may contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

Defect SummaryNissan is recalling certain model year 2008-2010 titan, armada, and infiniti qx56, and model year 2008-2009 nissan quest vehicles. the brake pedal pivot pin end was not spin-formed to specification during the manufacturing process of the brake pedal assembly. the pivot pin could slide and cause the brake pedal to partially disengage from the brake pedal bracket.
Consequence SummaryThe driver will experience unusual and noticeable looseness in the pedal and a reduction in braking force increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective SummaryDealers will inspect to see if the pivot pin had been formed properly and will replace the brake pedal assembly if necessary free of charge. the safety recall began on march 22, 2010. owners may contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

SERVICE BRAKES
10/13/2012420001
While applying brakes coming to a stop sign there was a loud crunching noise. trying to drive was hardly possible as the car would stop short and cause the noise anytime the brakes were even lightly applied. the red brake warning light came on. i pulled over and after turning the car off and back on the brake light was off and the car drove fine. this happened one more time in december. searching the internet i found this to be a problem in previous years but not with a 2009. most complaints pointed to a solenoid in the brake booster and a $800 repair. repairs often don't last and another $800 is spent a year, or years later. this has been an ongoing problem that nissan will not address or compensate for. had this happened to my wife or one of my children i could very well see where it may have caused an accident. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2009 nissan armada. while driving 45 mph, the hood of the vehicle began to bounce up and down. the contact pulled the vehicle over and noticed that two bolts had popped out of position and another was about to pop off in a matter of seconds. he would have never checked the hood if it had not popped open while driving. the dealer stated that the contact had to have damaged the hood in order for this failure to occur; therefore, they refused to repair the vehicle. the contact feels that this is very unsafe because the hood could have opened and impaired his visibility. the current and failure mileages were 12,000.

I was slowing down to take an exit and the brakes felt like they just didn't work which resulted in me missing the exit, striking a median with the front right tire, then causing the vehicle to roll over. very soon after my accident, i received a re-call from nissan on the brake pedal that would increase stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash. my insurance company has posession of the vehicle and i would like an inspection to be done, to rule out the possiblility of a faulty brake pedal.
