 Tl - the contact owns a 2005 nissan frontier. the contact stated that the front calipers seized and as a result, the brakes failed. the contact stated that he replaced the calipers, brake pads and rotors on each side twice prior to the recent failure. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 24,000 and current mileage was 72,000. kmj

 Cruise control set at 50 mph, and as car started incline, accelerator engaged abruptly and rpm increased to maximum. multiple attempts to brake and regain control of vehicle. truck went off road on curve and head on collision with tree occurred. driver had both feet on brake, yet was unsuccessful in slowing vehicle.

 Dt*: the contact stated while brake pressure was applied at various speeds on normal road conditions, there was a pronounced vibration and increased stopping distance. the vehicle was inspected by an independent repair shop but was unable to duplicate the problem. the vehicle was later inspected by a dealer who determined the rotors were worn and twisted. after replacement of the rotors, the problem persisted. the vehicle was road tested by the dealer who determined that braking was normal. the manufacturer was not notified.
