| Defect Summary | Nissan is recalling certain front and rear lower links, p/nos. 54501zq00a, 54500zq00a, 551a1zq00a, 551a0zq00a , 54501ea00a, 54500ea00a, 551a1ea500, 551a0ea500, 54501zr00a, and 54500zr00a, sold between november 25, 2009 and may 14, 2010 as replacement parts for model year 2004 through 2010 titan, armada, and qx56, and model years 2005 through 2010 frontier, xterra, and pathfinder vehicles. the lower control link assembly has two cylindrical collars forming the inboard attachment points to the chassis. due to an improper welding process some collars may contain welds that do not meet strength specifications. | |||||||||||||||

| While driving at a speed of 60-65 on the highway my 2005 nissan frontier feels like the transmission slips out of gear and starts to grind. this occurs only under acceleration and i do not mean hard acceleration. i am simply at a cruising speed on the highway and trying to simply maintain a speed and the noise occurs daily. i am not positive that the noise is coming from the transmission because i am no mechanic, but the sound is a grinding sound which means it is a gear grinding somewhere. i took the vehicle to a nissan dealer three times and all i was told is that the transmission is okay. i do not have a service engine light on so maybe that is the reason, but i was able to show the dealer the noise and still no help. all i wanted when i bought this truck is a reliable car and i do not have one. nissan should be held responsible for putting out a subpar product. i know based on the online forums that i am not alone in these issues with the truck. *tr | |||

| Tl-the contact owned a 2005 nissan frontier. while driving 55 mph during rainy weather conditions she lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle flipped several times and crashed into a ditch. two passenger were injured one had a lower back injury and the other had deep cuts on her arm, face and chest. a police report was filed. the vehicle was destroyed. she reference recall 10e019000, suspension:front:control arm:lower arm and stated she believes this recall was the cause of the failure. the contact stated she received the recall letter in the mail today. the failure mileage was unknown. | |||
