ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - ALTERNATOR/GENERATOR/REGULATOR

My car was losing power. car would not start and my radio hasn't worked for the last year. i have had to replace my alternator in my nissan maxima for the third time in approximately 6 years. when i purchased the last alternator on 11/02/05 from advance auto parts. i received a printout that there have been several factory service bulletins produced by nissan to correct charging system problems on maximas. i've called nissan and they have told me that there is no type of recall on this problem. the problems are poor connections: the battery wire may not be able to carry all the current from the alternator to the battery. the symptoms of this include alternator overheating, alternator failure, and electrical power loss. the other problem is poor charge at idle: some maximas do not charge well at idle, even though the alternator is functioning properly. i believe that nissan needs to put these vehicles on a recall notice. *jb

Every window regulator in my nissan maxima has been replaced once and i have had one fail twice. several of my friends have a maxima and we have all had the same problem. i was told by a parts person at the dealership that the number one selling part is spark plugs and the number two selling part is window regulators. i have spent almost $1000 on window regulators and i know that nissan knows there is a problem, but they will not do anything about it. i am hoping that you can help me get some of my money back and help others. my wife is the only driver of this car and the windows are not used much.*ak
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - WIRING
07/06/2006102321309/10/1999
Fuel system:fuel injector failure. fuel injectors have failed several times in the recent past. was advised by nissan factory trained mechanic at nissan dealership that the problem is in the wiring harness and that nissan knows about this particular problem and has issued a secret advisory to their service personnel about this possibly being a fire hazard, but have not seen any public information concerning this problem. this problem developed after i took the vehicle to the dealership for a stalling problem that was finally decided to be the ecm module. the ecm module was replaced costing over $1000, but the problem persisted. nissan mechanic then replaced a wire in the wiring harness, and the problem went away for about 2 weeks, but returned. have been advised by independent mechanics that the factory installed harness (ve30de engine) is too close to the rear exhaust manifold, causing wires to fail, and that nissan has a fix for the problem for free, but can't find any information. can you help? *jb

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - WIRING - INTERIOR/UNDER DASH
08/24/20003008/01/1999
For the first problem electrical under the dash. i having a problem with the fuse box and fuse relating to the shift lock which also controls the break light. there is a major short in which sparks do flash and the metal part of the fuse is melted. i have be warned by officer that my lights where not working. this is due to the electrical problem under the dash. i have nearly been in 8 wrecks due to the problem. i do know upon reading that maximas have problem electrically under the dash and some other nissan that my friends have owned. pertaining to the second issue. it is not the luggage rack but the spoiler (it was the closest thing on the list to describe.) i have had a problem and upon oberservation of other maximas it is not just mine. i believe due to a design flaw a problem with the spoiler is this. on the outer egdes of the spoiler on mine and others where the spoiler is attached to the trunk lid water gets up under the egdes and causes rust and release of the outer edges of the spoiler and they com loose as did mine. all that is left is 4, 8mm nuts to hold the spoiler. luckly mine held long enough keep mine on for me to stop. if not my spoiler could have come off and to the behind traffic cause a sever accident of the interstate. i have looked into replacing but the cost of the spoiler is 800.00. i have reattached but the spoiler is coming loose again. thank you

My vehicle contains most of the technical service bulletins and a couple of the recalls. my main concern/question is why won't nissan cover the expenses for the repair of the front end noise (one of the tsb's #ntb93189) which will lead to further damage of the vehicle??? no safety defect listed in the summary. *ak
