Every window regulator in my nissan maxima has been replaced once and i have had one fail twice. several of my friends have a maxima and we have all had the same problem. i was told by a parts person at the dealership that the number one selling part is spark plugs and the number two selling part is window regulators. i have spent almost $1000 on window regulators and i know that nissan knows there is a problem, but they will not do anything about it. i am hoping that you can help me get some of my money back and help others. my wife is the only driver of this car and the windows are not used much.*ak

In the past four weeks we have replaced three out of the four power window regulators on our 1993 nissan maxima. the power windows, especially in the rear, get very little use. it has cost over $500 in parts and labor to replace these parts. inoperable power window regulators cause a threat to the safety of the vehicle and its passengers.*ak

My vehicle contains most of the technical service bulletins and a couple of the recalls. my main concern/question is why won't nissan cover the expenses for the repair of the front end noise (one of the tsb's #ntb93189) which will lead to further damage of the vehicle??? no safety defect listed in the summary. *ak

Rear window regulators fail in window closed position. both rear windows have failed once in up position even though they got very little use. the rh rear failed in up position after about two dozen cycles over a few year period. the replacement cost is $225.00. and the dealer will not replace them under warranty due to milage, even though the rear seat is almost never occupied. i currently block the failed windows in open position since they fail so fast. it has been pointed out to me that this is a safety hazard in case the rear seat window was needed for egress. there is no aftermarket unit available and the oem part is plastic junk that only lasts a few cycles to failure. the dealer says this is not a hazard since the windows will probably not work in an accident since they are powered off the battery. my position is that the windows need to work as designed and a manufacturing design deficiency should not be cause for an occupant to be trapped in a the car. *ak

I have had to replace all 4 power window regulators in my maxima because of a little plastic piece that cracked. the part lasts just long enough to get beyond the warranty period. the little plastic piece is now metal reinforced in the replacement window regulators. *ak
