| I am the owner of a 2002 nissan maxima. the air bagworning light came and i took it to the dealer for repair. in my owners manual it states that seat belts and related systems are covered for the life of the vehicle.the sevice manager said that the parts are not covered. the air bags are directly related to the seat belt system. as long as the worning light is activated the air bag and seat belts will not operate. this unit is disigned to only operate when there is a collision, and the vehicle has never been in an accident. the dealership is requiring a payment of $2800.00 for the repar. part numbers y851m-5y800, 25567ar227, and28556-5y725the vehicle only has 53000 mile on it and has been very well maintained. it should be the manufactureer's responsabilty to cover this device on the warrenty. | |||
