I have had my 2003 nissan murano for over 4 years ever since i owned it i have had a problem with the drivers side visor. the visor cannot stay up and it always falls to the point to where it is in my line of sight. i have used velcro in the past but i have become more and more frustrated because now the velcro is failing. i was picking up my daughter from school the other day and the visor fell in front of me in the middle of heavy traffic and i had to slam on my brakes. my 6 year old daughter was crying and very frightened as was i. i am hoping that something can be done as this visor issue is a significant safety issue where lives are in danger.

We purchased a new 2003 nissan murano when they first came out. over time we noticed that the car would stall almost all the time after we first started it in the morning. we did not think much about this and just dealt with it after taking it to our nissan dealer who could not tell us what was wrong. this was a few years ago. three days ago my wife was driving home from work and the car just died while she was driving and the service engine light came on. immediatley the next morning we took the car to our local car repair shop in purcellville, va to have the car looked at. i did not fee comfortable taking the car to our nearest nissan dealer 30 miles away given what just happened. the repair shop called and said our car had a voluntary recall for camshaft position sensors and they was causing the problem. they printed out the recall and told me to call nissan to have them fix the problem instead of having to pay my local repair shop. i called our nissan dealership and reporting my problem and they told me the vin of my car was not part of the voluntary recall. i said if i have the problem and it has been verified why would you not fix it-- its not safe! long story short - i took the car to a nissan dealership and they also confirmed that my car has the problem but that nissan will not fix. i find this horrible and need your help.

I was traveling out of town alone with my 3 children and after we had been on the road for about 3 1/2 hours, the front windshield wipers came on by themselves along with the back windshield wipers, the lights were going on and off by themselves, the left blinker came on by itself, and the dash information (dte, fuel economy) was just coming on and off by itself. there was water coming out of the fuse box on the drivers side, and you could hear a sizzling sound. i took it to the nearest nissan dealer, they said they fix it and i got back on the road and it happened again 2 hours later same stuff. i just turned off the ac and kept driving with everything going crazy, because all the service departments were closed and i could not get anyone to help me. when i arrived at my destination i took it to the nearest nissan dealership the next day and they said that the ac hose was loose and was allowing water to get into everything. i hope it is fixed, but i am now scared to drive it anywhere and i have to travel 6 hours away from home every now and then because i have a child 6 hours away from home in college and you never know when i will have to go up there unexpectedly. i am thing about trading it off because i do not feel safe in it anymore, but the trade in value is a lot less than the pay off. *jb
