Tl*the contact owns a 2003 nissan murano. while driving 25 mph the vehicle suddenly shut off. when the vehicle shut off the brake light began flashing and the brake pedal became difficult engage. the contact was forced to use the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. the dealer informed the contact that the crank sensor needed to be replaced. there is a similar recall on other nissan models regarding the engine and engine cooling (crank shaft sensor) but the 2003 murano was not involved in the recall. the contact is concerned about the safety risk since there was no related recall for his year, make and model vehicle. the failure mileage was 90,000.

2003 murano was stopped. driver had foot on brake. vehicle was struck in rear. brake pedal went to floor and vehicle rolled through intersection. had to pump brake pedal twice before brakes would hold again. ever since, vehicle labors as if pulling a heavy load or as if parking brake was partially engaged. nissan dealer states that brakes seem to work, therefore they will not attempt to find cause of pedal-to-the floor incident or cause of vehicle laboring. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2003 nissan murano. the contact stated that the rotors wear prematurely.when applying pressure to the break pedal the vehicle shimmies. if the break system fails his risk for serious injury and crash is increased. he has had the rotors replaced twice within a 20,000 mile time frame. he contacted the manufacturer in which a representative stated that because there was not a recall they could not provide him with any assistance. the failure mileage was 22,000. the current mileage was 55,000.

06/21/2004 | 14000 | 2 | 05/31/2003 |
(1) vehichle was operating normally, then the battery and brake warning lights came on. 2) while driving down the interstate looking for a dealership, the entire car shut down, including the engine and braking. i had to cross 2 lanes of interstate traffic to get to the shoulder without power or adequate braking. at the time, i was travelling out of town and was stranded in a city where i knew no one. (3) after being towed to a dealer, the day after i was told the alternator and battery were both bad. a new alternator had to be ordered but there were none in the immediate area and didn't know when one would be available. the alternator and battery were eventually replaced at no cost to me, 3 working days after arriving. old parts are not available.*ak pe04077_cat |
