I have a 2004 nissan murano se. at approximately 50,000 miles, the drivers' side sun visor had some sort of internal mechanical failure which makes it fall down in front of my face while driving. my extended warranty company refuses to fix it, claiming it is a trim item, and the dealership claims it is no longer their problem as the car isn't under warranty. however, it seems to me that this is a safety item, since every time it falls down, it obscures my view of the roadway. when i searched online, i found many other nissan murano owners on online forums complaining of the same issue with their 2003 through 2006 muranos with relatively low mileage failures of this particular part. *tr

I ran off the left side of a mountain road hitting a large tree with the driver's door, then continued down the hill another ~20 feet slamming into a boulder. when i hit the tree, the driver's door window broke as well as the driver's side rear door. the door was jammed shut. the nissan was equipped with front side impact airbags and both front and rear head protection airbags. none were deployed. when i hit the boulder, the front passenger airbag deployed, but the driver's front airbag failed to deploy. the pre-tensioner on the driver's seatbelt did not latch resulting in me hitting my upper chest and lower jaw on the steering wheel since the airbag did not deploy. the fuel cut-off device also failed to activate and shut off the engine. after almost a minute, i turned off the engine with the key. i had been knocked unconscious for several seconds. the 2004 nissan murano sustained over $25,000 in damage which resulted in it being totaled by my insurance company. the airbag light would illuminate briefly when starting the car prior to the accident. so there was no indication of an airbag malfunction. there was substantial damage to the driver's side of the vehicle as well as the front and undercarriage. my injuries were limited to bruises to my chest and lower jaw. the accident also greatly aggravated a prior injury to my upper back. when i went to go remove my personal belongings from the vehicle, i found that the jack, mounted in the rear floor had come completely out. *tr

Failure of rear engine mount on my 2004 nissan murano with 40,000 miles. without replacing said mount safety would come into question. parts are on order is this a common failure. should nissan be held responsible and make good? *nm

Every time i get out of my car, place my feet on the ground, and then touch metal that being the car frame or car door, i get shocked. the only way i do not get shocked is by touching the metal continuously as i place my feet on the ground and then i am able to close the door without getting shocked. the only other time i do not get shocked is when it is raining. this does not happen when i get out of any other car. i am beginning to hate my car because of this. why is it doing this. i have told the people at the dealership when i get my oil changed and they have no answers and do not seem interested in checking into this. *nm

I have a noise/squeak/rattle behind my glove box. my car has been to the dealer over 10 times for this issue and it hasn't been repaired. it is not making the vehicle un-drivable, but a brand new vehicle should not be doing that.*ak

I have a nissan murano 2004 with approx 66,000 miles...all four actuators failed at the same time. when i looked into this issue on line, i see that many other murano owners have the same issue. when the actuators fail you are no longer able to look the doors, there causing a security issue, especially if you have children. i find it strange that so many people are having the same problem. my husband and parents have 2004 model cars, and have no issues with their looks. please hold nissan responsible for this issue. *tr

My 2004 nissan murano began having a tinny noise coming from the front passenger door. i thought that perhaps the insulation had fallen down, and took the car in for servicing on 1-13-05 to ferman nissan in tampa, florida. i was told that the dealership could not repair the door, as the door beam was broken, and that the body shop would have to replace a door beam. in december 2004, the car had been involved in minor vandalism. a brick had been thrown at the rear of the car, and there was sand on the passenger door. there was barely a dimple on the exterior of the door, but the service department surmised that someone kicked the door, which was why there was sand, and that the door beam was broken in the process. i took the car to a body shop for an estimate in april 2004, and they were surprised that the door beam could have been so easily broken, as this was supposed to be a safety feature of the car. i was told that because it was a safety feature, a door beam cannot be repaired, and that the door would have to be replaced. i contacted nissan usa in on april 7, 2005, and explained my concerns that the door beam could be so easily broken, with barely a mark on the exterior, and this would not protect passengers in a crash situation. i offered them the opportunity to inspect the door, as a possible manufacturing defect, and possibly pay to replace it, but, per collette, they were not interested in inspecting the door. neither was the local dealership, ferman nissan in tampa, florida. however, i wanted to be sure that this incident was recorded somewhere, as i am still concerned that the door beam could be so easily broken, causing a potential safety hazard. i have since had the door replaced, and the expense was covered by my insurance company.

I put the back tailgate up in my 2004 nissan murano to put my granddaughters' belongings in to take them home. i walked to the back seat area to put something in the back seat, when i heard a huge whooshing sound and suddenly the entire door slammed down. luckily i wasn't near it or i could have been killed. the door is very heavy and it slammed down with quite a force. there was a strong smell of a vaporized nature in the car. now the door is very difficult to open and requires both hands to do so. evidently one of the hydraulic struts went out. this poses a significant danger to anyone nearby. i have called the dealer and am taking it in today. they were very non-committal about it being something they would repair without cost. they did say it was a very rare occurrence. i am very concerned about this incident and want to report it. if others are not aware, there could be a very serious accident. i am concerned about my own safety as well. *tr
