The sun visor on this car will not stay in place in the up position and continually blocks my view of the road. it is a safety hazard. my research has shown that nissan is aware of this problem but will not voluntarily fix it. instead, they are charging $400 to repair this problem that almost every nissan murano has. *tr

The driver's side visor of the vehicle constantly drops down without warning, causing viewing obstruction. it does not relate to road conditions (i.e. bumps or off-roading), weather (happens regardless of hot, cold, or normal temperature), or any other factor. this appears to be an ongoing issue with countless vehicles affected. nissan needs to issue a recall and fix the problem at no cost to the consumer. when i asked a nissan dealership about it, i was told it was due to the wearing out of the mechanism and a new visor would be ~$300 (including a $30 labor charge, which is ridiculous considering i've taken apart the visor myself and put it back together and i am in no way mechanically inclined). velcro does not fix the problem as the lining of the interior of the car is cloth ~ the velcro does not stick sufficiently. trying to keep the visor in the down and left position (against the driver's window) blocks the view of traffic, as does keeping it in the down and forward (against the windshield) position. i essentially have to drive with my left hand constantly either on the visor or within reach of it in case it starts to drop, leaving me with one hand to drive and react. this is a major safety issue that nissan is fully aware of and refuses to acknowledge, which severely impacts my faith in their products. i have driven two other nissans (both frontiers) without issue; it appears this is only a murano issue. i would hate to have to give up my car, which i greatly love in every other way, but i cannot continue to jeopardize my own safety as well as that of my family with this problem. *tr

For no visible reason, the driver's side visor dropped down and could not be put back into place. it refuses to stay up. in the down position the view is cut in half and renders the vehicle unsafe for sustained driving. i believe this is a total manufacturer defect. *tr

The nissan murano's sun visors drop down without warning and suddenly impede visibility as well as create a distraction to the driver. the visors never have been very secure but now the situation is a hazard and not just an inconvenience.

Driver's side sun visor will not remain in up during driving conditions. item will fall into down position and obstruct driver's view of road, other vehicles, and signage. this is not an isolated incident on bumpy roads; this has happened multiple times a day for the past 12 months, all on highway miles.
