When you try to use the driver side visor, it will only work in the completly down position. as i am 5'-7 tall, the visor in this position almost completely blocks my view. some other times it just drops down on it's own. i have a nissan muran 2006. laura - south carolina

Both passenger and drive sun visors will not stay up, resulting in obstructed vision while driving.

2006 nissan murano driver & passenger sun visor does not stay in place. the mechanism for the sun visor malfunctions. when placed in the up, locked in position (not in use) it pulls away and hangs loosely. when placed downward to block the sun the visor does not stay in a locked and angeled position. it has suddenly dropped and obstructed my view. this is a safety hazard and may result in an auto collision. i live in colorado where the majority of our days are sunny. i am often forced to support the sun visor by holding it in place with my left hand while driving only with my right hand. this is a safety concern for me, as a driver should have both hands on the wheel while driving, i wear sunglasses however, the suns glare is often so intense that the visor is necessary especially during rush hour traffic when i am driving west towards the sunset. the last time my visor malfunctioned was yesterday, 10/1/10 while commuting in heavy rush hour traffic (5pm mst). nissan corporation should take action to recall & replace the sun visor mechanism.

The driver's side sun visor fails to stay in the up(retracted) position effectively restricting the vision of the driver when it falls into the view of the driver. this will occur suddenly while driving and is a significant safety hazzard.

I own a 2006 nissan murano and in the fall of 2009, started experiencing an issue with my sunvisor. i understand that this issue is not just mine, but many other owners have the same problem. while driving, the sunvisor randomly falls down, sometimes hitting me (or my family) in the head. it is clearly a safety issue. it always occurs on rough road surfaces but also happens on smooth highways, and at random times, often startling me or whoever is driving my car. we have purchased & replaced the clips that holds the visor but that is not the problem. the visor just does not lock in the up position. we have also spoken to the dealer and they said it is not under warranty and is a $350-400 replacement part. other owners have indicated they will not cover is under their goodwill program either.

I am having problems with the drivers side sun visor in my nissan murano. it will just drop down suddenly. at first i was able to pull the visor down and move it foward to help protect my eyes from the sun. but that didn't last long since it will just fall straight down and block my view. when it falls i can not see the cars in front of me. i am not a tall person but i would have to be extremely small to see under the visor when it falls in straight down position. the other day, i was driving on the freeway and my sun visor suddenly dropped straight down .it really startled me cause i lost visability. i screamed cause i could not see the cars in front of me like i mentioned earlier. as quickly as i could i lifted the visor and held it in place and continued by journey. it was pretty nerve wracking. i could have gotten into an accident and injured my passengers, myself and other drivers. and with traveling at high speed it's was an extremely dangerous situation. my dealer said the cost to repair would be around $500. i feel nissan should take responsibility for this and issue a recall but i haven't seen any yet. this sun visor issue is very dangerous to all of us out there on the road drivers and passengers.i hope something can be done about this. thank you for listening.

Evidently a rock was able to penetrate my condenser due to the wide open gaps in the front of the vehicle. my a/c is no longer providing cold air in my 2 month old 2006 nissan murano. cost of the repair $717.98 and no known prevention of this recurring multiple times. per the lake nissan sales manager is well aware of this recurring problem. *jb |
