Service engine soon came up, so i went to my mechanic & told me that code po463 came up & fuel pump sending unit needs to be replaced & that cost around $800. i chech online & notice that a lot of people are having the same problem. so i think nissan needs to do a ecall & take care of this issue....thank you in advance.

Fuel gauge started to failed and check engine light turned on. failed the state inpection due to emissions. i took the vehicle to the dealer and quoted for replace the two failing fuel sending units $99 to inspect + $700 part & labor. of course is not covered by nissan. how many other brands beside nissan have you seen with this problem? i am simply appaled by the lack of concern from nissan. after reading complaints about seat collapsing, wheel bearing going out, visors falling blocking the view of the driver, steering hoses braking causing fire, in vehicles with low mileage i cannot beliebe nissan does not identify this as a safety issues and allows the consumer to pay for these faulty components. the fact tha nissan does not stand up behind their products is an insult to everyone who bought this product. nissan offers no assistance despite the clear premature failure of the components. this is my first and last nissan vehicle. writing letter to the ceo, vice president total customer satisfaction, vice president manufacturing quality and parts & service nissan north america, inc.

Just like all of the other complaints that i have been reading, when i attempt to put gas in my murano i'm unable to put gas in by the nozzle. the only way i can get a full tank of gas is to keep clicking continuously until it's full. however, now i have a lot of back splash of gas and to me this very dangerous to me and others. nissan should immediately have a recall on this problem before it cause an unnecessary accident or death. if this is a manufactured problem then it should be dealt with accordingly and respectively. i went by my local nissan dealership concerning the problem and the only solution was given to try different pumps, hold the trigger gently, and it's cold outside it will do this more often. what type of resolution is this??????

Fuel level sensor circuit, fuel taank assembly, fuel level circuit sensor high input car will not pass emissions testing nissan usa does not respond to phone calls or call back regarding request for recall. this item was recalled on several other nissan's , but not the murano. nissan states emissions control warranty on fuel systems is only for 3 years and my time is over since the car is now 5 years old . since july of 2010 67,000 miles the tank has been telling me i am empty when i reach half a tank of gas the car thinks its empty, i had no intention of fixing it since i know how much gas is in the car but now that it won't pass emissions testing, i test every 2 years and sept 15, 2011 car went in for testing and failed due to this fuel problem, due to cost to fix, i have dealt with poor fuel economy and fuel sensor/gauge malfunction but now i can't put my car on the road anymore due to not passing emissions and not being able to renew my license plates. carl now has exactly 73,000 miles on it.

My 2006 murano was bought used, shortly after buying, i had difficulty putting gas into it, pump kept shutting off, it only happened occasionally, so i did nothing about it, but did look it up to see there was a service bulletin now every time i pump gas it will do this, so i will be contacting nissan about it to get this fixed, as i should not have to pay for this. apparently there are many others w/ this same problem, it needs to be recalled. have had a few instances where gas would spill back out of the tank and all over the side of the car and on the ground, this is a very serious safety issue.

I have a very hard time pumping gas into my 2006 nissan murano s. after a gallon or two the fuel pump handle will kick off and stop pumping. i have been told this is because of the venting system. i first brought the car in for this issue in 2006. i ended up picking it up and then taking it right back because i couldn't put gas into it at the station down the road. it was again serviced for the same thing in 2008 and then again in 2009. the vehicle is currently back in the shop for the same complaint. i have to pump gas into a portable gas can and then pour it into the murano.

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) 2006 nissan murano s awd vin # [xxx]. the check engine light came on at the end of march 2010. i scheduled my car to be looked at in the beginning of april. prior to the appt, i noticed a major discrepancy between the 2 fuel instrument gauges. whenever fuel would be down to around a quarter of a tank of gas, one or both of the gauges/electronic display would show any where from 1/2 a tank of fuel to completely empty. after bringing the car in for service in april, i was informed that my factory warranty had run out, and that my after market warranty purchased from that dealership, didn't cover the repair needed. i was advised that my check engine light and fuel gauge/electronic display was due to a defective

The problem is trying to put gas into my vehicle the nozzle on the gas pump will shut of and spit gas back today i had a puddle of gas on the ground this has happened to me and my husband repeatedly have registered a complaint with the dealer and with the nissan company directly. i have talked to other people with the same car, model and this has happened to them too. you have to keep turning the nozzle on and moving it around in the gas tank trying to find a position where the nozzle won't shut off or spit the gas back at you. this is the 2nd time where i had to come home and change my clothes, gas on my shoes, and pants, hands, arms i consider this to be very dangerous especially when there are people out there who have a cigarette lit at the pumps as illegal as it may be. this has happened at various gas stations so is not the pump at one certain station. are

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan murano. when filling the vehicle with gasoline, the fuel gauge indicator would read inaccurate fuel levels. prior to the recent failure, the fuel system was repaired per nhtsa campaign id number 06v003000, fuel system, gasoline, storage, tank assembly. the contact was unaware if the recall repairs were associated with the current failure. the current and failure mileages were 36,000.

The vehicle's current problem is that the alternator is malfunctioned, and defected which causes the engine and battery to shut off and die. this already occurred more than 3 times. in addition, the oil tank pipe leaks. this is very dangerous because when the defected alternator fails, then it causes the battery and engine to shut off and die. if a person is driving a defected vehicle that has a defected and malfunctioned alternator that causes the engine to shutoff and die in the middle of a highway or street then a huge accident can occur and it will cause the driver and passengers to die or even get severely or permanently injured. this vehicle definitely has a recall, malfunctioned, and defected alternator. i bought my vehicle that is under warranty to the nissan service dept but they never admit that it is the defected alternator problem and never fix it. they just provide and install a new battery in my vehicle. but that does not solve the problem because the battery power gets drained and it dies and shuts off the engine. this already happened to me over 3 times and nissan's service dept never resolves this important problem. this urgent problem needs to taken cared of asap or else it will be dangerous for driver and passenger's life. *tr

I have a 2006 nissan murano sl. the recurring problem i have is that when filling up with gas, the pump stops generally after pumping only 0.5 gallons to 3 gallons. often, i can not fill it up anymore at that pump. sometimes, i can start to fill it up at a slower rate and continue to get the rest of the gas in the tank. this has happened at 7 or 8 different stations in town, at numerous pumps - so it is not a case where 1 pump at a station is pumping too fast (as was used as the initial excuse). i have read in forums of this exact same problem, in addition someone at my dealer has confirmed they have seen this before. yet my murano is currently in the shop for the 3rd time since may 2006. they have cleaned the rollover float and are now replacing the tank assembly. one more time qualifies for the lemon law in illinois. *nm

Problem (continuing to) fill-up with fuel when using gas pumps with vapor recovery: for the most part, the pump trigger should not be opened to maximum otherwise will trigger a shut-off; however, if a slight jerk back of the pump occurs, will trigger a stop and can no longer continue fill-up even though the tank is not even close to being topped off. researching the web had revealed that this happens to many later-model vehicles. *nm

In february of this year, my 2006 nissan murano began to stall as i was driving. i brought my car into the dealership and was told that the bello boot was loose. i paid to have the fuel injection system cleaned. could this be related to recall #09v16900. *tr
