PE08065NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC.11/18/200807/02/2009DRIVER SEAT ANCHOR FAILURE
This investigation concerns structural failure of the anchor/bracket on the left rear side of the driver's seat.the concern is that such failures may alter the driver's seated position so as to reduce effectiveness of the occupant protection system or potentially compromise vehicle control.failure of the subject anchor bracket results from metal fatigue and causes rearward tilting of the driver's seat.these failures usually occur during driver ingress but may also occur while the vehicle is being operated.the safety related concerns during actual vehicle use were not validated by this investigation.while the number of complaints of this problem is relatively high, only three very minor, undocumented injuries were reported.the reported injuries occurred during driver ingress, not while the vehicle was in motion.investigation disclosed that the apparent risk of compromise to vehicle control has not been demonstrated.investigation also disclosed that the apparent risk of collapse of the driver's seat back has not been demonstrateda safety related defect trend was not identified and this investigation has been closed.

I was driving on the highway when the incident occurred. i braked because there was traffic ahead when all of a sudden i felt a pop and the seat dipped down and back. i almost crashed due to the distraction of the seat braking and bracing myself so that i didn't fall. the seat then began to rock back and forth. i had to sustain the seats with bricks underneath the seat so that i can be able to drive. i immediately went to the dealer and the response from the dealer was that they are aware of the issue and that the other replacement seats have the same issue. he basically told me don't waste your money on a new seat because it will happen again. this is a very serious safety hazard and is beyond me that nissan will not do a recall on this! it is amazing that someone has to die in order for something to happen.

While driving and making a turn, the driver's seat bracket failed causing the left rear of the seat to dip down and rock back and forth. the seat is now unstable and it is unsafe to drive the vehicle. upon doing some research online, i have read numerous complaints that nhtsa and nissan are aware that these seats are a problem and that previous concerns and requests for a recall on this issue have fallen on deaf ears. i think nissan should take responsibility for this manufacturing defect and fix these seats before someone is injured.

While driving home after work on the interstate i heard a pop and the driver seat collapsed toward the driver door. after almost colliding with a vehicle in the adjacent lane i came to a safe stop on the shoulder and investigated the driver seat. i was able to move the seat 4-5 inches form the left rear toward the right front quadrant. i lowered the seat which took some of the play out of the seat and finished the drive home. after further investigation the metal seat frame had broken loose at two brackets. i'm still researching safe alternatives to fix the seat frame. the nissan dealer told me they had a tsb on the seat and the replacement frame had the same fatigue issues. this known deficiency by nissan is a safety hazard and needs to be addressed. *tr

Drivers side seat left rear bracket connecting the seat to the seat adjuster assembly broke, causing the seat to move freely up and down, especially while turning. this seems to be a common occurrence on this vehicle based on what i've read in forums. this could be very dangerous while you are turning your seat unexpectedly lifts up and could cause you to let go of the steering wheel and crash. the following webpage has comments from several murano owners who have experienced the same. http://www.nissanmurano.org/forums/66-problems/1548-drivers-seat-10.html. *tr

I was driving on the interstate at 65 mph and heard a popping sound. my seat moved and then it started rocking. it scared me so bad that i pulled off the road to see what happened. i could tell that something serious had broken and drove back home to find that the weld had come apart. i felt like i was driving, sitting in a rocking chair. this is a serious problem and should be fixed and paid for by nissan. i have never owned a vehicle that the seat broke like this. we have had some of our cars and trucks over 15 years! if this is not a recall problem then nissan has lost me and my family as customers for life. *tr

This is a follow up to my previous complaint, which documented the sudden collapse of the driver's seat in my nissan murano. in 2009, nhtsa ruled that this defect was not a safety issue, based on the fact that only three minor injuries had been reported. however, i recently came across information that the bisnar chase law firm has filed two auto products liability lawsuits against nissan -- one for a catastrophic injury and the other for a fatal injury -- which appear to be directly related to the nissan driver's seat defect. the information appears on the law firm's website, as well as on those of some news organizations. in light of this recent information, i recommend that nhtsa re-open its investigation, in order that this very dangerous defect can be resolved prior to any additional fatalities and/or catastrophic injuries.

My wife took the kids out of the car to the house and return to put the murano'07 into the garage. when she sat in the seat it was loose and felt that it had broken. she said it felt loose when she went to pick up the kids. i checked the seat and it was broken on the bottom beam that supports the cushion to the seat. this should not have happenned just from seating in the seat. also, took the vehicle to a nissan dealer and they stated that the seat assembly needs to be replaced which will cost about $1500.00. this is an outrageous price to pay for something that should have not broken from normal use.

I was getting into the vehicle when i heard a loud crack and the drivers seat started to wobble. sure enough like dozens of other victims the front bracket connecting the seat to the frame snapped. thank goodness i was parked when this happened. luckily. i was able to have the dealership weld the seat frame together, but they admit it probably will not hold for long. nissan is well aware of this issue and refuses to do anything about it except force their customers to pay $1000 or more to have the seat replaced. they claim it is not a safety issue, so unfortunately i guess it will take someone getting killed and the subsequent lawsuit to get their attention. poor design on something that should not wear out over the life of the car and worse yet is the manufacturer's attitude toward their customer base for a known and well documented flaw.
05/16/201251750
Seat lifter failed to raise the seat on left side side while the right side worked. dealer states this is a common failure for the murano (along with seat rails breaking). this is a safety issue as a driver needs the seat to be the right height to see out the windows and be able to use the mirrors. this should be covered by a recall on all affected nissan vehicles.

The driver's seat frame broke in my 2007 nissan murano. fortunately at the time my seat snapped i had parked my car in the driveway and was getting out; had i been going down the freeway at 65 mph the result could've been much worse. after a thorough look we found a metal support bracket on the back left side of the chair snapped in two resulting in a chair that was unstable and rocked. this problem is well known to nissan. a look at murano forums will demonstrate that many people are having the same issue and the cost to replace or repair the seat is considerable.

Driver's side power seat will not move forward or backward anymore. it is stuck at the far back position. nissan says that the part replacement would cost around $1000 plus labor. this is not a part that is supposed to wear out and too expensive. it is a safety hazzard not to be able to move the seat forward, but i can't afford to spend $1300 to fix this issue. from a forum online, it appears that many, many people have had this same problem with the nissan murano driver's seat and nissan is refusing to accept this as a design flaw and fix them.

There is a local used auto dealer selling this muranao and has sold another one yesterday a 2005 with the same diagonal tilting drivers seat issue that is a safety problem and the cost when a dealer looked at it and said that the lifter link slide assembly was broken was $600 to fix. he also stated there has been a service bulliten open for years on the murano in general for this issue. the local dealer told me that it was normal and has sold many with this same issue used.

As with all of the other complaints regarding the seats, it appears that my front driver side seat has the same problem. it rocks back and forth and i can see that the bracket has snapped. nissan needs to be held responsible for this safety issue. there wasn't an accident that caused this and i'm not obese. i'm sure if there was an accident this problem would render the airbags as ineffective. i was driving and going around a turn when i noticed it rocking. i do know if i had to stop abruptly i'd probably end up through the windshield. i don't think consumers should bear the cost of $1500 for a seat only to have it happen again in another 4 years which is how long i've owned the car.

The passanger side seat began to rock side to side. there was not accident or any thing. it was fine on the way to the store but getting back into the seat when leaving the store we noticed the rocking of the seat. after taking it to the shop that night we were informed that the seat frame was broken. the weld had failed. after talking with the mechanic we were informed that this is a fairly common problem. a very expensive problem that can hurt people. if not fixed this could lead to serious injuries in an accident. why is nissan not responsible for fixing this common problem that can harm their customers?

Driver seat rear structure broke, seat unhinged from base, leaving chair rocking as i drive or turn.

While stopping at a stop sign - going approximately 5 mph we heard a loud cracking sound from the driver front seat. upon inspection, we noticed that the rivet that holds the seat on the seat rail completely snapped off. this is faulty workmanship or inferior products in my mind as i've had a toyota and ford in the past and never had any issues with the seats.

The driverside seat bracket broke. there are four mounts on the driverside seat that hold the powerseat to the vehicle.the left rear of bracket of the seat bracket essential snapped. the driver weigh's no more than 190 pounds. the owner went to three nissan dealerships and they acknowledged the issue, but nissan has declined to make the repair. if the vehicle is in accident then there is a high likelyhood that the driver will not be held in place as forward momentum will force the driver into the steering wheel or through the windshield.

On the driver's power seat, the seat frame breaks and the seat itself becomes unstable, rocking back and forth several inches. the seat's instablilty is noticable on corners when in motion. this is apparently a fairly common occurance as both the dealership and various car repair shops are familiar. nissan's answer to this safety issue is to charge owners aproximately $1,000 to install a replacement seat frame.

Approx. 2 months ago, i noticed that the drivers seat of my vehicle was wobbling. the vehicle has 65,000 miles on it. upon inspection, i found that the left, rear portion of the seat was no longer attached to the body of the car. the seat moves when i enter and exit the car and it leans while making turns driving the vehicle. i checked on line for any possible recalls related to this issue, as the seat should not be loose and i see it as a huge safety risk should i be in a collision. the seat is not secured to the body of the vehicle. i found many consumer complaints related to this issue involving not only the 2007 year model, but other year models as well. many of the individuals stated that they had contacted their nissan dealership as well as corporate nissan and were told that this defect is not involved in a recall because it is not a safety issue, yet they will recall an air cleaner tube that has a tendency to come loose. the dealerships will repair the common defect for more than a $1000. i sense that this issue has already come to your attention, after seeing the number of complaints reported. please help us to get nissan to the next right thing by backing their product and more importantly, repairing a gross defect that absolutely makes their vehicles affected, unsafe to drive. thank you for your consideration.

When i initially purchased my 2007 murano, the driver-side electric seat would rock slightly when leaning forward or back. recently the frame connecting the front of the seat (just under the cushion) to the floor frame snapped and caused the entire seat to fold backwards. luckily i had just pulled into my driveway and was able to step on the break and put it in park before i was in an accident. upon examination, the frame necessary to secure the seat to the floor was woefully inadequate. i have searched the internet and have found many others complaining of the same issue.

I have a 2007 nissan murano. the driver side left weld bracket broke on my seat. i am the only driver of this car and i am a female weighing 140 pounds. i don't think that is an excessive amount of weight for a seat to hold. this has created a huge safety hazard for me... and it's going to cost me around $1200 to fix. this doesn't seem right to me... i have seen a lot of complaints about this same issue. why hasn't nissan stepped in and issued a recall to make this right before someone gets seriously injured or killed, due to this issue. i'm thinking of getting rid of this car and moving on... i was under the impression that nissan made a quality vehicle that was built to last and safe, but what kind of vehicle is safe that can't safely hold a 140 pound female into her seat??? wake up nissan and do the right thing!!!!

The driver-side seat frame broke on my 2007 nissan murano after normal use only. i was lucky that it broke while the car was parked. since the seat drops suddenly when the frame breaks, this is an obvious safety hazard. nissan did not offer to repair the seat. they told me the part alone costs $950 and i would have to pay for it before they would even order the part.

2007 nissan murano driver's seat frame, rear left weld broke as i got into my car. it made the seat wobble back and forth creating a very serious safety hazard not only in controlling the vehicle, but also if there were a crash. car was taken to a dealership for appraisal. the quote was for $1400. nissan consumer affairs would not cover it under good will. i am not a large man and the seat brackets should not break after 4 years on entering and exiting the vehicle.

2007 nissan murano sl power seat drivers side seat bracket broke at weld causing the seat to rock back and forth dangerously. this is an item i have never heard of breaking. in my opinion, nissan should recall the muranos and fix them free of charge. i will be fixing the problem at carmax with my extended warranty, hopefully.

Driver's power seat suddenly started rocking forward and backward as you were slowing or accelerating. popping and squeaking noises accompanied the rocking motion. as the seat would rock you had to adjust pressure on the brake pedal or accelerator to compensate for the movement of the seat. it was unnerving to operate the vehicle with the seat moving. i had to hold onto the grab handle over the driver's door to help control the movement of the seat. in doing this i was unable to keep both hands on the steering wheel. if i tried to keep both hands on the steering wheel, when the seat would move i would tend to jerk the wheel from side ot side as i tried to stop the seat from moving. appointment was made at local nissan service department. i learned that nissan is familiar with this safety issue and have issued a technical service bulletin. parts were ordered and seat was repaired. i am concerned that if normal use will cause the inferior designed seat to break what would happen in a crash. it appears tsb is for model years 2003 thru 2007 . possibly the seat design was improved for '08 and later models but nissan is unwilling to issue a recall to cover this safety issue.

The driver side power seat on my 2007 nissan murano will only activate the left side. the right side is locked in one position. i took the vehicle to the dealer who quoted $1,100 to replace the entire seat assembly. the vehicle had less than 30,000 miles at the time of the seat motor failure but is out of the 3 year warranty period. i feel this is a safety issue as the seat cannot be adjusted to the driver

Drivers seat broke upon entering the vehicle. apparently the seat frame wore out after only 75k miles and 4 years.

While travelling for a funeral, driver's seat started rocking to the rear. investigation showed the seat frame had broken at the left rear corner. a nissan dealer in wisconsin refused to repair the seat failure for free as the car is no longer under warranty. to get vehicle home a block of wood was placed under corner. once the car was in home state, dealer there also refused to repair for free even though this is a safety issue. owner had 3rd party mechanic remove and make welding repairs. searching the internet shows many complaints for this model vehicle with multiple production years starting in 2003 through at least 2007 for the same driver's side seat failure.

Two days ago, my driver's seat broke resulting in the steep tilt which pushes me towards the driver door especially when car is making a turn. it seems to be anchored on the right side but comes loose from the left rear, allowing rocking when taking turns. this car has 47k miles. this seems like a major safety issue, as it could affect a driver's control of the steering wheel, pedals, etc.
03/27/201123000
I was driving my car home from work when i turned a corner and my seat came off the floor. i wasn't going fast so i was able to keep control. the car is in excellent condition and only as 20k miles on it. i did some research online and found this to be a common problem due to faulty design of the power seats. depending on the situation, this could definitely lead to an accident and serious harm since the seat is not securely fastened to the chassis of the car. the fact that nissan won't cover the cost to fix the issue ($1000 part plus $400 labor) because it is out of warranty is ridiculous. a car seat should not break at all let alone after 20k miles. this is a potential a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

The driver's seat bracket, outside rear broke as i swing my body around to exit the car. the back of the seat fell sharply about 4 and i found myself between the pillar and the seat. i live in a mountainous county in california, and regularly travel for business (2 - 4 times per week) between 3 other counties, same topography. if this had occurred while making one of these trips the result would have been catastrophic, a head-on, roll-over, or over the cliff. thank god this occurred in the valley, and when i was stopped. i had to have a temporary repair at a furniture repair store just to be able to drive the car. he fashioned a wooden support to keep the seat upright and strapped it beneath the seat. on getting to santa rosa, ca, i took to vehicle into nissan of santa rosa and spoke to the service department. he mentioned they see this weekly, and wanted to charge me a diagnostic fee. i balked at that, was sent to the consumer hot-line, and they wouldn't file a report until it was diagnosed at the dealership. i got them to waive the fee. went back to the dealership had it diagnosed. they wanted to charge me over $800 dollars to fix it. several days later i get a call from the consumer division of nissan saying they would do nothing with my claim. of course they wouldn't if they sell an expensive part plus labor on a regular basis. since then i have talked to several other technicians in both the santa rosa and petaluma, ca dealerships. it was confirmed this is a regular failure. i'm amazed that there have been no any fatalities, or maybe there have. the fact that nissan has not re-engineered this part, or created a mod for this fix has me questioning the integrity of nissan products. how many people have to die before they do the right thing. is this the only complaint filed with the nhtsa? we found this problem discussed numerous places online.

We have a 2007 nissan murano. in december i realised my drivers seat wasn't attached on one side. the seat lifter was broken. i drove with 1/2 of my seat not being attached for 2 months because there was a national backorder on this part. i was told by the repair technician that they've seen this a lot recently, and that it was a thin piece of metal so it broke easily. i was very uncomfortable with this safety issue, because my infant car seat was behind my drivers seat. i was worried my seat would detach in an accident.

Driver seat suddenly became loose during my afternoon commute. it rocks very badly from side to side.

While driving on i95 the driver's seat broke and began rocking back and forth. i managed to maintain control of the car till i got home and propped the seat up with wood blocks. i looked online and found numerous complaints of the same problem from murano owners, 41 exact same complaints on the first site i viewed. nissan admits no fault and recommends a $1200 repair. i called my nissan dealer and they said they see this problem constantly, but can usually make a weld repair for about $70. i took the car to the dealer and they quadrupled the price to $300 for the weld. when i balked, the mechanic and the service manager told me i had to have the repair done as it is a safety problem. i agree, it certainly is a safety problem. shouldn't nissan acknowledge their design flaw before people are killed?

Front seat in the 2007 nissan murano is off it's bracket, can't afford to pay over 2,000 to get it fixed. the whole frame is broken and it it shakes when i sit in the car. the car has less than 60k on it.

Upon entering the vehicle to begin my commute to work, i noticed the driver's seat had apparently separated from its tracks, and was rocking back and forth. this is disconcerting, and can be extremely dangerous. the vehicle was purchased new in december 2006, and now has 27,500 miles on it. i have been driving for many years, and have never experienced a failure like this.

I went to sit in my drivers seat and i heard a very loud crack and my seat broke. it now rocks and leans into the direction of the driver side door. the seat literally rocks and is very unstable. if the seat comes completely unhinged during the driving process or in an accident the driver could become severely injured due to the instability. in addition, it causes my seatbelt to get stuck in betwen seat and door because seat touches the door when sitting in it. i called the dealership and this fix is approx $1000 to $1200. i noticed online and on this site that there are numerous complaints with this exact problem and nothing has been done to force the automaker to fix this problem. we need serious action quickly because this is a very expensive repair and nissan should be liable for it as this is happening across the country and is very unsafe for the driver and other vehicles that could be affected in an accident.

During the course of normal, routine and non-commercial use of the vehicle, the driver's seat became loose and began to rock/move. took vehicle to nissan dealer for inspection and diagnosis. dealer service department advised that seat mount for driver's seat was broken at a weld spot, compromising the integrity of the mounting. no collission or other abnormal event precipitated the incident. this would seem to indicate a manufacturing or design defect in the seat mount with serious safety implications.

2007 nisson murano ,no accident, failure of drivers seat frame, cracked under normal driveing conditions less than 50,000 miles. this could certainly be a safety issue since it affects the driver while driver is driveing, should be a recall . fix is quoted at 1,200.00 dollars waiting for parts currently. old parts still in car

 1. we own a 2007 nissan murano. while driving at approximately 45 mph, we heard a crack sound in the car. it was immediately evident that the seat's back was able to move in a manner that is not normal. it was able to shift/twist to the side rather than be stable in a front-facing position. this occurred with a vehicle that was only driven under normal suburban conditions (not used off road or in extreme situations) and with approximately 55,000 miles. there were no special circumstances or unusual driving, jarring, or trauma to the vehicle or its seat in the days, months, and years leading up to this failure. 2. a metal seat bracket (seat lift frame assembly) in the front driver's seat broke on 12/20/2010. this has a consequence of the front seat being able to move about including rocking, shifting, and twisting while driving, and is especially unstable during turns or on a bumpier surface. even with a seatbelt on, there is a serious instability to the seat. while we have not experienced a crash that caused injury, from this, we strongly feel the potential for there to be serious injury or death because the seat is not stabilized exists. in reviewing message boards from other owners of muranos (see http://www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2004/nissan/murano/seat for example), this failure exists in multiple model years (noted from 2004 on) and appear to impact hundreds, if not thousands of murano owners. 3. nissan requires the seat to be replaced at a cost of $1000 - $1200 to the consumer. they do not consider this a safety issue and thus do not cover this under recall. we are currently awaiting the repair from the dealership.

2007 nissan murano with 54000 miles purchased new in 07 - as i was driving i heard a pop. later realized that the driver side seat is loose at the back left side and moves and drops 2 - 3 inches when sat in. wobbles when turning curves. electric seat still moves back and forward but does not tilt. dealer said over the phone when i called to make an appointment that it is a broken track and is out of warranty. would require replacement of entire seat foundation and would cost $1300 to repair. with so many complaints about the same defect and some much worse, why is there no recall for a safety hazard?

2007 nissan murano driver seat, left corner weld is broken and rocks while turning corners or driving. if you are not sitting in the seat you can just move the seat freely and it is obvious that it is broken. nothing was done to correct this as not covered under warranty. i feel this is a big safety concern as you are the driver of the vehicle and need to control it, meanwhile you are sitting in an unsafe seat that is broken.

Drivers side power seat on my 2007 nissan murano is broken. the left side of the seat moves fine but the right side is locked in one position. i had the problem diagnosed by an authorized nissan dealer and was informed that a plastic gear on the side right side of the seat used to move the seat from back to front is damaged and needs replaced. this plastic gear is probably less than $5 to manufacture but i was told by the dealer that the whole track needs to be replaced at a cost of $750 (not including labor). there are numerous complaints on the internet regarding this issue.

I brought my car in for an oil change and when i picked up the car i was told my lifter link was broken. i informed the dealer that it was not like that prior to bringing car in. he told me nissan murano had a history of this defect. i was never told of this defect. i question why the dealer failed to tell me this upon leasing the 2007 murano and secondly how it just happened to break during a visit.

Driver's left rear seat attachment point gave way during a shift in body weight. this created a floating type condition as the left rear of the seat shifted up and down in correlation with the vehicles movements/cg shift. took vehicle to dealer to point out unsafe condition and was told that it was not covered under warranty despite the vehicle being only 3 years old with less than 100,000 miles on it.

My 2007 nissan murano has broken driver's side seat frame. it broke while braking for stop sign at a slow speed and the vehicle only had approx. 50,000 miles. it now rocks to the right when braking and turning. the dealership estimate to repair seat frame is $1,000. i feel this is very unsafe and an obvious defect in this model and nissan should stand behind fixing the problem and making my vehicle safe to operate.

Front seat has become loose on the left side of the drivers seat. i had taken it to the nissan dealer for an oil change and asked them to look at it. they called to let me know it would cost 1000.00 for the part and 200.00 for labor. in a struggling economy i cannot afford to make this repair. this seat is clearly a safety issue if i were to get into an accident. i feel as though this should be covered by nissan as i understand there are many other of the same complaints. *tr

About two weeks ago, i begin to notice that the driver's seat was rocking every time i turned. this is not a slight rocking. i would have to say that the seat moves 2-3 inches. i was actually bumping into the center console. it seems to be loose on the left side. after taking it to the local nissan dealership, it was diagnosed as a broken bracket in the link arm. there is an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty on the car, but nissan has declined to cover the part. i do not view this as a cosmetic issue or a minor problem. i have true concerns about what would happen in any type of accident with a loose seat, especially in a rollover. *tr

My 2007 nissan murano driver seat broke tonight it started making a noise a couple days prior and then it just started sagging down on the left side. i had to drive it home with it flopping up and down, this was very unstable and i am concerned about the safety. we looked under the seat to see if perhaps a bolt came unscrewed only to see its a metal bracket and would need to go to the dealer to be fixed. my car has 50,0000 miles from what i am seeing this is a major issue, but since no bodily injuries or deaths have occurred they are not being required to recall this problem. i think allowing them to charge consumers 1000.00 to 1500.00 is ridiculous. lets not wait for people to die in order to fix this problem. i will call the dealer tomorrow to see set up the appt for the another recall i just received and will inquire about fixing the seat which i am sure i will be told its out of warranty and no recall has been issued. i hope this recall is not being overlooked because of the government bail outs for these auto dealers. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 nissan murano. while driving approximately 25 mph, the driver's seat failed and extended to the rear seat. the contact immediately drove to the dealer and was informed that the seat could be repaired. the dealer welded the seat to the track as a temporary remedy. on july 6, 2009, the seat failed again. the dealer recently stated that they would no longer weld the seat because the track needed to be replaced. the contact paid $400 for the welding and $1,400 for the track replacement. she stated that she would not repair the seat since the failure recurred. the manufacturer stated that they would make an agreement with her to split the repair cost. they later stated that they would get in touch with her and that no recalls were available; however, the dealer and service manager confirmed that the failures occurred. if a crash had occurred, the injuries could have been fatal. the contact refused to pay for the repair and stated that if the seat leaned toward the air bag switch, the air bag would deploy. the state attorney general is mailing her a packet to report the failure. the contact informed the dealer that she will go the media about the issue. the manufacturer stated that this would be irrelevant since no crash occurred. the contact found several nhtsa complaints and an open investigation regarding this issue. the failure mileage was approximately 39,000 and current mileage was 42,000.

I bought a brand new 2007 nissan murano and it has 55,000 miles on it. as i was driving home my drivers seat made a very big pop and the frame of the seat broke into. it scared me to death and i felt so unsafe. my first thought was that i had been hit by another car. please read all the complaint about this. i am sure this is a defect and a big safety concern. i have always had my car serviced at the dealership and have all service records on my car. nissan will not fix my car because they say it has to many miles(55,000). the cost to repair is 1,500.00. i have never had a seat to fall in the floor. i sure hope this safety hazard will be recalled before someone gets hurt. *tr
