This vehicle is only four years old with only 84000 miles, while driving i heard a loud sound coming from under the vehicle. i took the vehicle in to five towns nissan they told me that i have a big problem, my transfer case is not good. the transfer case, seal-oil and seal- oil ring would be $2750.82. labor and tax would be bring it to $4074.33. now we all know owners of this very cute vehicle that it has a factory defect and we need more people like myself to come forth so the would have no choice but to recall these vehicles.

The visors will not stay in the up or stow position causing a safety issue for the driver. it will block the driver's vision when it falls. the nissan motor corporation is aware of the problem but refuses to do anything about the problem without charging the owners of the vehicles. the nissan murano sl awd i own was very expensive and the dealer is wanting $300.00 or more to repair the problem with no help with the cost from nissan.

Driver side sun visor does not stay in down position. even though vehicle has extended warranty, nissan refuses to cover it. visor has to be held by hand while driving to stay in correct position. if not held, then visor moves out of position sometimes blocking view of traffic lights and vehicles ahead.

This is a 2007 murano purchased new in 2008. on september 12, while driving at low speed (25 mph) the driver side visor lost its grip and fell to a hanging position. this is a hazard as it impairs visibility. i have researched the nissan forums and found out this is a very common problem with muranos dating back to 2004. however, despite thousands of complaints, i have not seen that a recall had been issued. it is very disturbing that the part/repair is really expensive.

The driver's side sun visor falls down and blocks the view of the driver. i used to keep my seat up high because i'm short, and it helped me have a better view of the road. i've lowered my seat because when the visor falls it completely blocks my view. the visor has started falling at least once every time i drive it. it even happens on the freeway, where the road is smooth.

The drivers side sun visor broke and will not stay in the up position. it falls down unexpectingly and causes the view of the driver to be blocked. this has happened on two occassions that almost caused a wreck. nissan claims this is not covered under the warranty. there have been numerous complaints on the nissan webiste because they will not recall this item. to replace the sun visor is $350-500.

Normal bumps in road cause driver's side sun visor to drop and obstruct the driver's vision. part appears to be un-available and/or way over priced for something that should not fail within the first seveal years of operation. typical sun visors are priced from $50 to $200. nissan want over $350.00 for one.

Driver side sun visor falls down in front of drivers face while driving causing blocking of view. visor will not stay in up position and constantly falls down. i have searched the internet and have seen that this is not an uncommon problem and there are many complaints about this. nissan knows of the issue and is overcharging customer for the exact same product which has the same issue.

Driver side sun visor does not stay in place. nothing led up to this. one day it went from working perfectly to falling down for no reason. it occurs frequently and reduces my field of vision. i have not yet had it replaced but understand the cost is over $300. after doing an internet search have discovered that this is a well known defect that nissan has done nothing to remediate.

2007 nissan murano drivers side sun visor keeps falling down, safety issue.i've read on forums and they have had this issue for quite a few years, and from what i've read they want to rip you off on price for a new one.you lose your total vision of the road when it falls.it falls very often, about every 5 minutes.this is a safety issue and should be a recall.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 nissan murano. when the contact drove the vehicle approximately 35 mph, she noticed that the driver side sun visor would suddenly fall and distract her view. the vehicle was taken to the dealership where the contact had the sun visor replaced. the current and failure mileages were 64000.

2007 nissan murano drivers sunvisor does not remain in retracted (stowed) position. sunvisor rotates about pivot rod due to road vibration and completely blocks drivers view. this is extremely dangerous and is exacerbated with night time driving or in bad weather. this appears to be a defect in design of the sunvisor retract cam mechanism. the sunvisor unit cannot be repaired, it must be replaced and is prohibitively expensive. nissan has been contacted directly and refuses to replace the component. an internet search has revealed many similar failures in multiple model years and 116 reports are on file with nhtsa as of this writing. this should be the subject of a safety recall before someone is killed by these defective sunvisors. *tr

The sun visor on the drivers side of my 2007 nissan murano will not stay in the up position; therefore, causing me driving hazard. i contacted nissan and they want $400 for the replacement part. after doing some research online, i am finding that there are many murano owners experiencing the same problem. i believe that the part nissan used must be defective. i even asked someone in my office that also owns a murano and he too is having the exact same problem. *tr

For eight months i have been experiencing my car windows going down mysteriously. nissan, murano, 2007, sl, touring package, 4 doors w/hatch. occurs when the car is parked, shut off, locked and no one inside it; in all types of weather (hot, cold, dry, wet); when parked indoors or outside. two front windows always mysteriously go down but on some occasions rear windows go down too along with front ones. i thought it was operator error, but have ruled it out after how frequent it occurs. two months ago it occurred when parked outdoors; a heavy rain storm occurred soaked the vehicle and required professional cleaning to remove water. a month ago it occurred parked at a busy mall parking lot. i was shocked to come out and find the windows down and car not secure. three weeks ago it occurred at night parked outdoors; it was filled with debris in the morning due to a windy night. in the last week and a half it has occurred 4 times, while in a garage. today, october 8, 2008 it happened twice and i witnessed the second occurrence. it occurred the 2nd time just as a rain shower was starting. the car had to be covered with a tarp for the night to prevent rain from getting in it in the event the windows go back down again. this is a real problem due to the fact that the car is no longer safe when the windows will not stay up. the passengers are at risk, car is at risk of being damaged from inclement weather inside it, vehicle is at risk for theft or being vandalized due to not being secure, personal property is at risk of theft from the vehicle due to not being secure. i feel this issue needs to be documented and addressed. others online have posted the same problems on blogs. after today i will be meeting with the dealer to address this issue. for a vehicle rated so high in safety i no longer feel safe in this vehicle due to the window problem. i am shocked nissan has not done anything since others have complained. i am questioning owning it. *tr

When the temperature is less than 30 degrees, it appears that the pipes/hoses by which the windshield washer fluid circulates to the front windshield freeze. the windshield washer fluid is fine, but the driver can't wash the windshield because the window washer fluid doesn't come out. this presents a very dangerous condition when it snows and the streets have been treated. the slush/dirty snow floating from other cars sticks to the windshield, and the windshield glass gets very dirty to the point that the driver can't see where he/she is driving. i have called nissan and they recommended taking the car to a garage and keeping it running for two hours until the pipes thaw out. i don't have a garage, i am at work, and i need to drive back home in a slushy snowy day, but i can't wash the windshield with the window wipers because the fluid is not coming out to be able to wash it. frankly, i am afraid to drive back home. the pipes need two hours to thaw out. it is unbelievable! my ride to work is 30 minutes.

While driving on a major interstate, with my visor pushed forward toward the windshield to block the sun, the driver's side visor falls into my line of vision. this causes me to swerve while entering a curve and just miss another vehicle. i quickly push up the visor and to my dismay, it will not stay upright; neither upright towards the windshield nor upright towards the ceiling. the dealership states this is not a recall and is not covered under the warranty. i have looked at multiple threads and spoken with multiple friends who have all had this same issue with the 1st generation nissan muranos (2003-2008). this is a safety issue and both driver's side and passenger's side visors should be recalled and replaced before someone gets hurt! *tr
