| This report is in connection with report #10493536. this is the first time my sun roof exploded for no apparent reason. no stone was kicked up and i was not following another car. seems like a design flaw in this model. six months later, on 1/11/13, the same thing happened, much to my frustration. i just realized i put the date of that report as 2012 but should be 2013. seems like some sort of pressure from within is causing this problem, but this dangerous situation needs to be fixed. both times, the interior shade was closed, or the consequence of glass showering down on me and my child while traveling at 65 mph is not something i care to think about. thank you for your attention to this matter. *tr | |||

| For the second time in 6 months, my sunroof exploded. the first time was in july, 2012, and i will file a separate report for that incident.. both times the dealer said they were not responsible. out of the blue, it sounded like a gun shot, it was so loud. the glass was pushed up with the force, with a big circle of glass missing. i was not following another car and there was no stone kicked up as claimed by the dealer. with the cold air outside, the glass was pushed up with the pressure. the first time it happened was in the summer, and with the pressure, the glass was pushed inward. this seems to be a design flaw, as many others on the internet have claimed the same problem, even though the dealers claim they have not heard of this problem. this problem should not be ignored, as sooner or later this issue will result in serious accidents, possibly a fatality, and it would be difficult for nissan to say they were not aware of this problem. it is outrageous that i am afraid to drive this car when at any time, the sun roof may once again explode for no apparent reason. this dangerous situation is not what i signed up for when i bought this car and i am upset that this problem is not being acknowledged by nissan. *tr | |||
