I purchased my 2007 nissan pathfinder brand new.. i just paid it off last year.. ive been feeling like something was wrong with the shifting for some time.. but no one could find anything... well as i was driving down the road it just did not want to shift.. starting heating when i went over 60 mph. i took it to a specialist and come to find out the radiator is leaking coolant into my transmission.. im at 3500.00 in just parts right now.. than i go online and see all these other poor families that have had the same thing happen.. all nissan had to do was let us know there was a problem with the leakage.. this makes me sick.. i worked hard to pay this vehicle off.. now instead of taking my kids on vacation i will be paying for my vehicle to be repaired.. nissan totally denies any problem, however when you call the dealership they will try and sell you an updated radiator.. why does it need to be updated if they are saying nothing was wrong with the old one?? something needs to be done. we put our trust in a product and it failed us and now they want more money from us.. this is wrong.. i beg for any assistance and that someone step in and make nissan pay for what they are doing to people.. families work to hard for their products to have to be treated the way nissan is treating us.. and no one seems to be listening... i want answers.. if i sold a product and there was a defect i would fix the problem,... not try and cover it up with making my consumer by another part from me...

The radiator has leaked coolant into the transmission and now the truck doesn't start. the transmission no longer works and neither does the radiator due to a faulty wire between the radiator and transmission. nissan knows all about the defect but refuses to recall it. *tr

Hit dear was driving at about 50 miles per hour, damaged fog light and fender and started to make noise after started back driving and hit 40 mph
01/21/201366120
The issue is with a 2007 pathfinder. while applying the brakes, the engine starts to race and there is a sudden acceleration. twice i have incurred substantial damage to the front end of the vehicle. if a stationary object had not been in the way (poles), the vehicle would have continued to plow forward. my foot was firmly on the brake pedal in both instances but the car continued forward while the engine was racing (sounded like your foot was actually on he gas pedal and puposely racing the car). my nissan service personnel said they could not detect anything wrong with the vehicle whent hey checked it the first time. the second time this happened, i got rid of the vehicle. thankfully, nobody was injured. happening once was enough, but twice? in certain instances, i have also noticed while at a traffic light, for example, i could feel the brake pedal moving closer to the floor like the system was losing pressure.

Car was giving acceleration problems. two days later i was in traffic and car wouldn't go past 10 mph. i was able to pull over just out of the way of speeding traffic. i had to turn the car off then back on for it to start and slowly shift gears. still was only able to go up to 15mph at first, almost got into an accident because of my location. once i kept going it started to speed up to normal speed. immediately i called nissan, but before i was able to get to them my car failed to start. i was sent the recall letter in 2012 for my make/model/year. not right because by that time i received the letter i had already gone over the mileage. even if i was within mileage how can you make the buyer pay up to $3000 dollars for a manufacture defect. one problem is starting to lead to another. first bad tcm then relay. i'm fed up with trying to fix a vehicle that i kept maintained with the necessary maintenance checks. i did everything right as an owner, if my vehicle had been installed with good hardware (transmission/relay/etc.) then i would still have a good running vehicle. i will never buy another nissan again!!!!!

It was november 2011, i was driving my nissan 2007 at that time i was 9 months pregnant. my daughter who was 5 years old was with me. i was entering the freeway when my car started to shake, make noises and it started to slowdown on its own. i presses the speeding pedal but it kept loosing power. my daughter was crying because she was scare. i was crying too i did not know what to do i was in a dangerous situation because it happen when traffic was at its pick. i could not stop because cars where behind me and i could not speed because my car was loosing power and it smell like something was burning. i manage to get off the freeway with the emergency lights and stop the car at the moment the car die(no power). a tow truck had to take as home. nissan would not fix the problem because of the miles/warranty whichever comes first rule that they have. they would fixed for a lot of money anyway i took it to a shop an i was told it was the radiator which damage the transmission. i had it repair and a few days latter all the emergency lights on the car turn on and went crazy and the car stop at ones this time it was the gas tank. it scare me so much that i call my husband and told him, this car is going to kill me and my children nissan pathfinder is dangerous and something must be done or someone is going to get kill. it is a safety issue please help us. do something we need help pathfinders are dangerous nissan won't fix this factory problem with out getting pay. please a recall needs to get done. i beg you do something this is the usa or not? i know at list 3 more people that had the same problems with this cars and all the mechanics agree that it is a factory problem. i will never buy a nissan it is a lemon! first radiator linkage then liquid in transmission then replace transmission than it will be the gas tank what is next?

While driving on the highway, i felt my transmission seem to shift very roughly into overdrive, and usually occurred between 40 and 50 mph. over the course of about a year, it continued the behavior off and on, until it began to do it daily and i took it to the shop. it was diagnosed as having had antifreeze leak into the transmission due to the oil cooler lines cracking, a common problem with nissan pathfinders, and other nissan vehicles of my model year. there was metal in the transmission pan which signifies that a rebuild is inevitable, all due to the mixing of antifreeze in the transmission. the radiator must also be replaced due to the mixing of transmission fluid, as the mechanics found the milky substance, typically associated with the mixing of water and transmission fluid in the radiator. so far, i have been quoted approximately 6,300 dollars for a repair job on this vehicle.

2007 nissan pathfinder radiator defect causing leak of coolant into transmission fluid and resulting in transmission/radiator complete damage, undetected by dealer service for 30,000 miles. problem detected with opening of investigation. nissan requires co-pay of $2,500 even though complaints occured previous to 80k miles and when problem detected, was 414 miles over requiring a significant amount of money for a known defect.

While driving down the highway my husband and i experienced loss of power and had to pull onto the side of the road. we were towed from there to the mechanic who explained to us that the internal radiator had leaked fluid into the transmission causing failure to both. since our warranty was outdated we are now out 6000$ and are struggling to fix this. i am very frustrated and disappointed in the vehicle. we had our children with and i am very glad that we were not at a busy intersection or interstate.

Start having problems in mid july of 2010. transmission was jerking in gear. radiator broke down, allowing fluid to leak into the transmission. vehicle is unoperable. also been having problem with fuel guage. unable to get vehicle repaired, due to limited income. vehicle became unoperable passed extended warranty.

This vehicle has approx 80k miles when heat stopped working and transmission started shifting hard. i was informed by my mechanic that coolant had mixed with the transmission fluid and that it was a known problem at nissan. we replaced the radiator and fluids. a few months later the transmission is inoperable and nissan has refused to acknowledge the issue. my mechanic at midas of richmond va informed me that he sees this problem all the time and that nissan is doing nothing. clearly, nissan knew this was a problem and has refused to take any action due to the high cost of the repair. this is clearly a safety issue as well as a known defect issue. i cannot believe the manufacturer would be allowed to install a major vehicle component with a known defect and for the customer to have no recourse.

I understand now that nissan pathfinder owner (05-07) have experienced issues with the transmission failing due to defective parts. i now have to have my transmission and radiator replaced to the tune of $7000+. why has there been no recall for this problem?

I was driving home from work when i noticed my 2007 pathfinder was not shifting properly, then my check engine light came on. i then took it to an auto parts store to see what code was causing the check engine light to come on, i was told it was the transmission speed sensor. the next day i took my car to a transmission repair shop where i was told it was not the speed sensor, but the radiator had leaked coolant into the transmission. i was then told this was very common in the pathfinder and nissan would not help with repair cost. i contacted the local dealership where i usually get my car serviced and was told that nissan knew about this issue and would not help with repair costs unless i brought my car to them for diagnostic testing. i did they told me what i already knew and that it would cost $7500 to repair minus the $105 i spent for the diagnostic test. my car is not paid for and i can't afford to get it repaired. nissan should be held responsible for their poor handling of this defect. it should not take someone being seriously injured or killed before they take action. since finding out this problem i have been researching and have found i am not alone in this fight against nissan.

Heating system is not working. very often while driving the car, it will make a strange noise coming from under the hood followed by a vibrating/shaking movement from the same area. the speedometer has also at one point failed to move, it was stuck on the zero mark.

This experience has been absolutely terrible. i am a mother and drive to all of the activities everyday which adds immense stress on me everyday knowing that any second my car will break down leaving us stranded. i bought my pathfinder used from the nissan dealership and have barely owned it for 2 years. i took it into the dealership after it was running running at 40mph and would not let me accelerate and making crazy grinding noises as though i were riding on the road shoulder. the dealership informed me that it wasn't a problem with my transmission but my radiator leaking coolant into the transmission which as a result ruined the transmission. having done research on the issue i have read that it is a common issue with these models and that nissan corporate is well aware of and refuse to do anything about it. this is a great big safety issue imposed on my family and i am terrified to even drive. i am upside down on my vehicle and cannot trade it in on a new vehicle and am left with my hands tied. i am joining the other millions out there filing a class action suit against nissan in the hopes of resolving this issue.

I havent finished paying off my car and already the transmission of my nissan pathfinder 2007 xl is failing. the radiator spilled the cooling liquid into the transmission, which then proceeded to cause serious problems to the transmission. the guaranty expired after 100 000 miles, even though prior to that the mileage the guaranty still applied. now, in order to fix the transmission, or replace it for a new one, will cost me over $5000usd. i'd like to unite to the existing complaints/lawsuit against nissan on the matter of the faults found in the 2007 nissan pathfinder, as i feel that is unfair that the company with the knowledge of fault in its product has not warned the public and has proceeded to sell the product to the public, leaving us with a faulty machine that in the end is more expensive, and not a satisfactory product. i am hopeful that the company will response to all of our complaints, stepping forward and taking responsibility for the inconvenience they have caused, and hopefully taking ownership of the expenses that due to their lack of responsibility, have been incurred on to us, the consumers.

Transmission had begun to slip while transitioning to and from gears(no matter the speed).when putting vehicle into gear there would be this horrible jerk, as if the transmission or engine were about to fall out!!! vehicle would not warm up while in park. once the vehicle was turned off it would only start back up if the ecu fuse were replaced. took vehicle to transmission specialist and he stated that the radiator had been leaking into the transmission!! this issue is now subject to electrical issues!!! his recommendations, a new or rebuilt transmission. i have read reviews were someone has even had their transmissin replaced only to have the same issues or similar in nature. nissan is aware of the problem and is not utilizing an appropriate recall.

On 5-23-10: pulled in to neighbor's driveway going approx 5 mph, when accelerator pedal was pressed, vehicle surged forward approx 10 feet and crashed into house. on 5-24-10: was driving at approx 50mph and attempted to press accelerator pedal, however when pressed, the vehicle did not accelerate. once pedal was pressed again, the vehicle accelerated, but only after one attempt vehicle was taken to local nissan dealer, who refused to inspect or diagnose any problems, and referred me to nissan consumer affairs.
