EXTERIOR LIGHTING - BRAKE LIGHTS
11/26/2003511/23/2003
I have a 1995 nissan pickup that i just purchased from my sister-in-law, the original owner. it has chonic problems with the brake lights not working. the metal light socket barrel will separate from the plastic socket that holds the lamp in the lens assembly. my nephew who drove the truck on numerous occasions had to reinsert them in order so they would work. this problem i learned was common with this nissan pickup had resulted in a safety recall (#98v-234) campaign by nissan. however i was informed that my pickup did not qualify for this recall due to the vin number not being within the applicable range. even so my truck has this problem and i feel it should be repaired. the recall should not be limited to certain vin numbers if there are other vehicles exibiting this problem. if nisan will not fix it they could at least provide me with the parts to do it myself.*ak
