Defect SummaryVehicle description: mini vans. one or more of the five bolts that mount the rack and pinion steering gear to the vehicle may have been incorrectly tightened.
Consequence SummaryThere could be a looseness in the steering, which may be accompanied by noise or vibration.
Corrective SummaryDealers will inspect the vehicles and, if the bolts are missing, will replace the steering gear mounting bolts. all bolts will be tightened to the specified torque.

 Consumer request for recall information on nissan quest 1999. *bf the consumer is experiencing problems with the steering and electrical system such as the widows, and the front drivers seat. the clock and radio lights come on and go off most of the time. *jb

 When vehicle gets up to speed of 58 to 63 there is a very bad vibration in the front end. vehicle has been aligned, bearing has been replaced, rims and tires have been changed. problem is still occurring.*ak. also the lamp socket, wiper switch, rack bolts, cup holder and hub assembly have all been replaced.*jb

 I have a 1999 nissan quest i bought new and i was never informed by nissan dealer about nhtsa id#s 00v292002- and my vehicle do have the exact problem of vibrating even though i took it in several times even on the second day i bought it; # 99v205002 & 99v347002 if there is a campaign out to have these services done, should'nt nissan follow up on these? i had to change several sets of wheels, tires, endless balancing; fornt end shot twice due to heavy vibrations and nissan never found the answer. i also had and still have the mirrors vibrating so badly that it's difficult to see.
