| The fuel gauge indicator is inaccurate. after the vehicle was completely fuel up, it only indicate 3/4 of a tank on the fuel gauge indicator. up on subsequent restart of vehicle (2 time), the fuel level indicator finally read full. | |||

| Dt*: the contact stated while traveling various speeds, the airbag warning light remained illuminated after an occupant who weighed 115 pounds sat in the seat. the front passenger air bag would not deploy in the event of a crash when the air bag light was illuminated. on another occasion, an occupant who weighed 150 pounds sat in the passenger seat, and the air bag light remained illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who performed a diagnostic, and did not provide any error codes. the dealer and contact encountered a nhtsa recall #04v103000, regarding the air bags: frontal: sensor/control module. the dealer determined the vehicle was not involved in the recall due to the vin. also, the fuel gauge on the instrument panel, did not display the correct amount of fuel in the fuel tank. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who replaced the fuel tank, fuel pump, but the problem recurred. the manufacturer was not contacted. | |||

| While applying the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to accelerate. within seconds of parking the vehicle a fire occurred. the vehicle displayed a dangerously slow acceleration as if the transmission was in the wrong gear when trying to accelerate the vehicle. there was also poor fuel economy (11.6 to 12.1 mpg instead of the normal 19-26 mpg). also, within the first few weeks of ownership, the power sliding door on the right side opened independently on two occasions and failed to open or close on several occasions, there were problems with the control buttons, the radio text display on the dash read malfunction multiple times and sometimes it occured when the engine was started. *ak *sc there was a problem with the catalytic converter. *jb | |||

| Dt: the consumer owns a 2004 nissan quest. vehicle intermittently stalled and hesitated. the consumer took the car to the repair shop numerous times for this problem. the dealer replaced the fuel pump once , and the abs sensor was also replaced, no one knew what was happening with the car. the car has been towed to the dealer again for the same issues. the consumer has not called the manufacturer. the consumer wanted to get rid of the car. *ak | |||

| Purchased 2004 nissan quest 3.5 sl 3/13/04. experienced problems with car starting during first week. requested full check of engine. took to dealership for custom package. upgrade and engine diagnostic during 2nd week. was not done! beginning 3rd week car would not start. dealership towed and supposedly fixed. received. vehicle following day 4/02/04. on the way home from dealership, car suddenly died in a turn on a major intersection during rush hour. nearly hit a car and a curb before i could stop vehicle. my children were onboard! unknown to me, gasoline was pouring out from underneath the vehicle. cars were zooming by on their way home. some men got my children and i out of the car and pushed to car into a gas station on that corner. we were in the vehicle for several minutes with the hazard lights on, before i could safely get my children from the car. dealership once again towed vehicle and supposedly fixed the fuel related problem. replaced the fuel pump. my vehicle to this day does not get near the reported guideline fuel consumption ratings. window sticker 19 - 26 mpg, lowest end ratings on this model are 16 - 22. mine gets 13 - 14.1 in town and 17 to 18 on the highway. have read of recurring problems with low impact causing fire in the steering columns of the 2004 nissan quest, a problem and recall that existed long before the 2004 models. *ak | |||

| I purchased 2004 quest in fall 2003. to date i have had the automatic door break 4 times, fuel pump and fuel chamber replaced,van will not accelerate periodically, brakes sqeak repaired but ow worse, sonar malfunction, no sound from radio/dvd/cd random occurance. the van has been in shop approximatley 10 times in ten months for extended time and problems are no better than 10 months ago. nissan consumer affairs has not provided any resolution or effort to properly fix problems.*ak | |||

| Dt: the brakes heat up and the rotors warp. the steering wheel would start shaking when the consumer applied the brakes. the vehicle was taken to the dealership at that point. the consumer stated it happened every 4000 miles since she has had the vehicle. it first happened in march of 2004. the dealership is telling the consumer that the brakes are heating up. the rotors have been resurfaced three times. they ordered new rotors and they have been on for approximately 3 months and the steering wheel is shaking again. she has also gone through two fuel injectors. she was told that she is putting low grade fuel into the vehicle. *jb other issues: the passenger side auto door would rattle when the vehicle was in motion, abnormal shifting, engine light had come on, rear wiper had broken, steering wheel would shake due to the brakes, the front left seat back was loose due to poor fit, mouding on the rear of the driver's seat was coming off, the fuel gauge was stuck on empty after two fill ups. *sc | |||

| We bought our brand new 2004 nissan quest s on 7-30-04. the next day it ran very sluggish and would not accelerate up to adequete speed from a stop. it stalled out twice and the check engine light came on. dealer had to replace fuel injector, fuel pump and some kind of gasket. they also ordered us a new vehicle and was very cooperative and helpful. i did not want to have to worry the next 10 years if my car was going to break down with my small children. this is not my expectation of a brand new vehicle.*ak | |||

| The service engine light came on , the consumer has taken the vehicle in on three occasions. each time a different service was performed, to include, the computer was reprogrammed, a fuel assembly repair, and a small leak in the vent control valve. the vehicle is in the shop for the check engine light on again.*ak | |||
