I have nissan quest 2004 mini van. 2 weeks back one day my son 7 year old got trapped in the 3rd row seat on the passenger side. we couldn't take him out. if i try to loose the belt the it keep locking finally i had to cut the seat belt. usually if the belt locksup then if you release the belt it usually frees up but it ddn't do it . luckily this happend when got to back to home and my kids were trying to come out of the van. i think this needs a little attention. i don't know if this is faulty seat belt or faulty mechanism. i strongly believe this mechanism was faulty and there is a possibility of kids getting trapped if they are not properly using seat belts.mainly if the lock and release mechanism is not working properly

Tl*the contact owns a 2004 nissan quest. the contact's son pulled the seat belt across his chest and simultaneously attempted to turn his body, which resulted in the seat belt wrapping around his neck. the contact attempted to release the seat belt and noticed that it had locked, which made it difficult for her to release the child. the child was finally able to be released and sustained bruising around his neck. the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. the current and failure mileages were 60,111.

I was driving on a side road with my daughters in the car when the airbag deployed for no reason. ten min utes later the car alarm sounded for 15 minutes nissan is claiming from the inspection that i was in a moderate to severe collision. this is totally not true. my daughters can attest to this. there are scraps under my car from the long gravel driveway that i use to drive to a horse farm. they are using these scraps as evidence of a collision. they will not repair the airbag or seatbelt. this is a huge safety issue for all 2004 quest owners.*ak
