Failure of front control arms, according to nissan webiste (many other vehicles were recalled for same, not mine) this could result in collision. mechanic stated the wheel would come off with failure. nissan dealership discovered the weld was failing and told me they had to be replaced, but that while 1800+ vehicles were shown to be affected by this issue, my vin number was not on list. nissan needs to expand their recall

I have a 2004 nissan titan and have had it for about 4 years. there is 51000 miles on it and around 22,000 miles i put a lift on it. everything was fine with the truck until i got around the 35,000 mile range. when i would drive the truck i would notice loud noises coming from the front end. i took it to my nissan dealership 2 or 3 times and they said that everything was fine and that it was just my suspension that was making the noise. now it has been about 15,000 miles later and i noticed a leak coming from around the front axle so i took it back and they told me that my front differential needed to be replaced. they told me that it would cost $2300 to fix it. they also told me that they see this problem alot with nissan titans. when i got home i did a little research and found close to 100 people that had the same problem. i feel that nissan should be the one to take care of the problem. *tr

My wife and i were test driving a new nissan 2004 titan 4 door pick up at nissan of statesville, nc. we both drove the vehicle and noticed what we considered an excessive amount of play in the stering wheel. the salesperson, who was riding in the back seat, said that was normal. upon making the final turn from us highway 70 into the dealers lot a pop was heard and all loss of stering ocurred. the stearing wheel was free wheeling with no directional control whatsoever. in other words, you could spin it aroun like a top, with no stops.the vehicle was was brought to a stop without any damage. should this occur with any speed, death could easily be the result. hopefully this was a once only occurance with nissan trucks. we are still shaken by this event. the next page on this form requires me state that an event ocurred after purchasing the vehicle. we of course did not purchase the vehicle. thank you. *ak

Power steering fluid leak under right (passenger-side) axle-to-wheel area. also, a front-end alignment problem. i have had to take my 2004 nissan titan le 4x4 crew cab into the dealer service shop on at least 3 occasions to try and get the power steering fluid leak repaired/stopped. the last time it was in the their shop they had my truck for over a month waiting on a new power steering hose part that apparently was in short supply. the leak has now started again and i'm going to have to take the truck in again... additionally, ever since the truck was brand new, i have asked the shop to fix the alignment 4 times and it's still not right. the steering seems straight until higher speeds (60+ mph) then i have to keep the steering wheel turned a little to the right to keep the truck straight. my truck only has 7600 miles on it so far. i have also had the brakes repaired once already. based on all of the brake complaints i have read, i'm sure i will have to get them repaired again soon. when should i try to use virginia's lemon law? *ak
