This vehicle has more common failures than any i have seen. both of the rear leaf spring shackles rotted out. the rear axle seals are now leaking. in 6 months i have replaced 2 oxygen sensors and now for the 2nd time i am replacing the evap canister control valve. nissan seems to ignore all of these issues and has redesigned many of these problem areas in newer models however does not own up to fixing the issues on vehicles that are on the road.

In august of 2010 was the first time i experienced a problem. the vehicle lost power and died while driving on a main street going approximately 45 mph. later i discovered that the vechicle was out of gas despite the fuel gauge being at 1/4 tank. today, after nearly 1 1/2 of keeping my truck above 1/4 tank and logging my miles, the vehicle engine power died on me and failed to start because once again it was out of fuel...this time reading just under 1/2 tank. both situations are extremely unsafe and caused unnecessary stress. i've called the dealer and they are aware of problems with the fuel sending unit on the nissan titan model trucks but can not do anything without the official recall. it is widely known that there is a recall on some of the nissan titan models and should be extended throughout all of the failing fuel systems before myself or someone is faced with extreme injury.

The instrument panel fuel guage displayed that the vehicle still had fuel. the vehicle stalled on the highway, in traffic, and was out of gas. at the time we had no idea what was wrong and only knew it would not start. we had the vehicle towed to the nissan dealership who diagnosed it was out of gas and the fuel sender was faulty. the fuel sender resides inside the fuel tank according to the dealership but they will not fix it at their expense. our particular vin # is not covered for the identical issue that is under a current recall.

At highway speed, vehicle shut off and would not restart stranding wife and kids on highway. the fuel gauge showed 1/4 tank of gas, but it was later found that the tank was empty. same condition as documented in nhtsa campaign 10v074000, but nissan corp. stated that vehicle is not covered under previous recall because vin range/manufacture date is prior to specifications of recall. nissan has stated that there is nothing they can do and has offered no assistance in this matter. *safety issue - a major collision could have occurred at highway speed due to vehicle's inexplicable shut down.

I have a 2005 nissan titan. on may 7th i ran out of gas while my fuel gage was still showing 1/4 tank. i was on a fairly narrow state highway in wisconsin and came close to someone rear ending me while i was on the side of the road. i filed my complaint with nissan and just heard back from them today that there is a recall on the 2005 titan for this issue, but my vin number was not included in the recall. even though my truck is running out of fuel unexpectedly also. *tr

While putting gasoline into my 2004 nissan titan it spills back out of the tank. the gas will go into the tank then the pump will stop and then gas will spuw back out. this normally happens several times before i can get the tank full. this has happened more than one time, it happens anytime my tank is low and i am ready to fill up with gas. the tank has been replaced by the dealership. this has not solved the problem. *nm

With 1/4 tank of gas or less left in fuel tank, gas pours back out when filling from any gas station.gas pump will click within 10-15 seconds of getting gas and up comes gas from the tank.when a pump clicks, your tank is suppose to be full.but in this situation,it doesn't even come close to being full.it happened to me when it got around 2-3 gallons into the fill up.other owners of this truck(nissan titan '04-'05) have this same problem.dealer has avoided fixing this issue.this is a safety issue that nissan must fix.a couple gallons of gas pouring out of this truck at every fill up is dangerous for me and the people around the gas station.i have 2 kids and i hesitate everytime i fill my truck up with them inside.please investigate and see that nissan fix this problem.the forum on this is found at titantalk.com(gas tank issues).

Purchased a new 2005 nissan titan 4-door pick-up truck in february 2005. both the manufacturer as well as the dealership knew of an existing safety problem regarding the braking system of both 2004 and 2005 titan pick-up truck models, but failed to alert myself of the problem. i had to threaten to sue the dealership to provide and install the manufacturer's suggested replacement parts to resolve the issue. the replacement parts were installed less than 60 days ago, and the problem has resurfaced. when i spoke with 2 separate nissan corporation representatives, they provided me false information, and they told me they considered the matter closed and if i was not satisfied then i should contact a lemon-law attorney! i demand the manufacturer and the dealer to refund my money entirely! they fraudently sold me a vehicle that is not safe to be on the road. additionally, 2 additional problems regarding the driver's power seat and the radio have surfaced and the both the dealer and the manufacturer have done nothing to fix these problems as well.

I own a 2005 nissan titan. there is a safety recall nhtsa 10v074000 for a defective fuel gauge sending unit. the recall notice states; the instrument panel fuel gauge may inaccurately display that the vehicle still has some fuel, typically about one quarter tank, when the fuel tank is empty. my truck has precisely that problem, i have run out of gas on the road several times when the gauge shows 1/4 full. i set up an appointment for this recall and when i arrvied i was told i did not qualify. i called nissan today and again was told i do not qualify though they could not tell me what vin's or manufacturing dates qualify. i believe that since my truck exhibits the problem described in the recall, my vehicle should qualify for replacement of the fuel sender unit.

My 05 nissan titan fuel gauge reads that i have a quarter of a tank left when i run out of gas. i have been told this is due to a faulty sending unit in the gas tank. this is disturbing because if i were to run out of gas on the highway or my wife has my truck and runs out of gas, the power steering shuts off when the truck dies from no fuel. this could cause a collision and result in serious injury or death. this is not a chance i am wanting to take with the lives of my family. this item has been recalled on other nissan titans, but when i called about mine it was said that it is not covered under the recall. i would like to make it known that the 2005 nissan titan crew cab se 4 wd ..vin number [xxx]...also has this problem and should be included in this recall. and the recall id # 49063 is for the fuel gauge system recall. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

My 2005 nissan titan is exhibiting the failures as outlined in nissan nhtsa recall campaign 06v459000 (electrical system / wiring harness) and nhtsa recall campaign 10v074000 (fuel system / fuel gauge system). after reporting my issues to my local nissan dealer and nissan consumer affairs, i was told my vin was not included in either recall campaign. nissan consumer affairs finally gave me a case number and told me to have my local nissan dealer diagnose the truck and provide the written diagnosis and cost estimate to a nissan consumer affairs specialist. after paying $85 for a diagnosis, the local dealer confirmed in a written diagnosis and estimate, that my truck was experiencing the same failures that the 2 recalls cite and that my truck needed the same remedies as outlined in the recalls. after providing this information to the nissan consumer affairs specialist, nissan declined to cover my repairs stating that my vin was not included, i did not have a complete history of nissan servicing my vehicle and that my vehicle was outside the limited warranty term. i knew my truck was outside the warranty term, my truck needs to be included in the recall campaign, which has nothing to do with warranty. nissan is negligent in not including my truck in the recall. i have seen this same complaint from numerous others in my same situation, on this website and other online forums. the recall needs to be expanded as they obviously are not covering all vehicles affected by the failures cited. *tr
