My grandson owns a 2005 nissan titan pick up, he made a turn into our street and bed of the truck, literally became twisted and not align with the cab of the truck. he could have been seriously hurt. when he took the truck down to the dealers they advise him that bolts and come loose and the would charge 300.00 dollars for the repair. we have own a lot of trucks in my life time and i have never seen this happen to any of the truck we own. what type of company sees no danger in this. someone could have been seriously hurt. and all they could think about was the charge. you would think they would want to find out why this happen. sincerely a ver concern grandmother and soon to be greatmother. *tr

2005 nissan titan. door latch failure during cold weather below freezing. live in anchorage alaska, so time period of this weather is october - april. door will not open, nor close properly from inside, or outside of vehicle. had this problem last week, was not able to get back into vehicle for 10min while child was still in back seat. yesterday 2 nov driving on a highway door opened unexpectedly and passenger nearly fell out of vehicle. no one injured, however you can imagine the experience at highway speeds. there is a nissan tsb that they will replace door locking mechanism if vehicle is under warranty. nissan usa: tbns bx56aa / tsb 05118. however if vehicle is not under warranty they quoted me at $400+ per door x's 4 doors. this is unreasonable and a severe safety hazard for most of the country that experiences weather below 32degrees f. it is a known failure that nissan usa knows about. this should be a mandated recall. there will be severe lawsuits filed if another passenger, my child, or myself cannot get into a vehicle, or unexpectedly falls out. below are links to a nissan titan online forum with multiple other complaints about this. http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-general-discussion/49432-frozen-door-latch-problem-not-solved-please-advise.html http://www.titantalk.com/forums/canada-forum/85666-winter-problems-titan-usa.html http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-problems-dealer-service/83826-frozen-door-handles.html http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-general-discussion/70975-frozen-doors.html http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-parts-accessories/69105-doors-wont-close-when-cold.html http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-problems-dealer-service/33467-nissan-new-tsb-frozen-door-handles.html. *tr

In cold temperatures the driver side door on our 2005 nissan titan crew cab is extremely difficult to or will not open. when it does open it sometimes will not latch when closed so the door would swing open if the vehicle is operated. if it does latch when closed it is impossible to open from the inside. this is a serious safety issue because it would make it impossible for the driver to exit the vehicle from the left side in case of emergency. this happens anytime the temperature is 30 degrees f or below. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 nissan titan crew cab. when it becomes really cold in the single digits, the driver's side front door does not open when the release button is released on the remote or on the door panel. the contact can hear it clicking, but he cannot open the door. he can pull out the handle, but it does not disengage the locking mechanism. the failure is constant and dependent upon the temperature. the vehicle is no longer under warranty and the dealer stated that the contact was responsible for the repair. the current mileage was 49,200 and failure mileage was 49,150.

I have a 2005 nissan titan p/u in which the door handle cables get frozen in the winter months. i feel that this is huge safety issue that nissan has failed to address as a recall! i cannot get in or out of my vehicle except through the door windows when this happens. i have already had this vehicle in to my dealership on 2/15/08 to get repaired, but they had to order other parts that they said they didn't know that they needed. they didn't order them overnight and there was no sense of urgency on their part to rectify the problem! it still is not repaired. *tr

Prior to leaving for a trip i stoped by the dealership that i bought the truck from informed me that the exhaust was broken due to rust i was also told that there was no issue with driving it to nc from ct on the way back from nc the trailer lights failed and i started receiving slip abs brake and 4wd lights on my dash. i return the truck to the dealership and was told that the exhaust had melted the wiring harness where it had broke/rusted. i spoke to another dealership and was told this was a common issue where the wiring harness would melt when the exhaust brakes/rusts... i was also told that they had seen some where the whole tail lamp had melted. *tr
