On 22 june 2006, i noticed water coming between the headliner and rear window just right of the center electric window. water had been dripping onto the window ledge below the leak for sometime due to the concentration of water spots. the local dealer identified the location of the leak (with pictures) and had the window pulled and resealed by a local speedy auto glass. upon receipt of the vehicle, i was given instruction not to close the doors to hard and to wait at lest 48 hours before washing. approximately 72 hour after receipt of the vehicle i washed the vehicle and noticed water leaking from the same spot. *nm

While driving, heard a bang, did not notice any damage at first. later once the truck was parked at home seen the driver side rear leaf spring was pushed through the bed of the truck. (have pictures, if needed) the part pushed through the metal of the bed as well as the spray on bed liner. took truck to the local garage, was afraid to drive any further than just a couple miles. the mechanic stated that he could not believe that this happened given the year of the truck. upon further examination he recommended that the passenger side be replaced as well, before it broke also, he stated that it was very thin metal. the replacement part was purchased at the a dealer and i was told that they have had numerous incidents where this part has broken causing similar damage. repairs to the truck will also require replacing the truck bed possible. this truck has not been taken off road nor has it been used to haul items, it has a fiberglass bed cover on it.

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 nissan titan. the contact stated that the paint was more gray than blue around the door jam area of the vehicle. he stated that there did not appear to be three layers of paint in that area. he took the vehicle to the dealer and they offered him a trade at the cost of $3,000. the contact declined their offer. the dealer requested that nissan send them pictures. once the pictures were received, the dealer was unable to find anything wrong. however, they do acknowledge the failure. the failure mileage was unknown, but the failure began within weeks of the vehicle being purchased. the current mileage was 11,000.

The rear drivers side shackle blew apart resulting in the spring almost breaking though the bed metal. had this happened at higher speed on a curve i feel the outcome would have been much more negative. i take exceptional care of my truck and do not exceed recommended loads or towing limits. i've owned seven different trucks in my lifetime and have never had any incident like this happen. i think nissan needs to take a good, hard look at the type of materials and design involved in this bracket, as it should never have broken on a 3 year old truck, driven on-road with 58,000 miles on it. i find this to be extremely dangerous. *tr
