My 2006 nissan titan was taken in for recalls. upon completion of the work, which was poorly performed, i was notified that both of my manifolds were cracked and would need to be replaced which would cost me over $2,000 but the dealer would cut me a deal for $1,700 if i wanted to do it right away and they also threatened me with the fact that i would not pass my smog so i had to do it now. i declined as i could not afford repairs like that. after a short searchh online i found that this was a regular issue with titans but was not submitted for a recall. i have also sent a complaint to nissan. i am quite dissapointed with this issue as well as the lack of service i have recieved from the dealer. my family and i have always been strong supporters of nissan and own many of their vehicles and have never had issues like this that have not been able to be resolved. i will continue to buy nissans but hope that this will be reviewed and claimed as a recall. i cannot afford the repairs as my husband and i are both currently unemployed with 4 children and this is our only vehicle which we can no longer drive because we cannot have it smogged to renew registration. there is no doubt in my mind that the manifolds had been cracked for some time prior to the visit to the dealer. we had always taken our truck to the dealer because we had purchased a gold package for mainteneance and i had complained about noise before and they could never find a problem. it figures that as soon as it is out of warranty they would magically find the issue.

Rear axle is leaking on the passenger side

Driving cross country in nissan titan. truck floor got hot at one point. later truck sputtered and shut itself down. i let it cool down and it drove fine for a while. next day all of us in the car were a little sick and nasiated. car drove fine the rest of the trip and it wasn't until after we arrived at our destination that the check engine warning light came up. looked up the codes which were that the catalytic converters had loss efficiency. i took it to the deal for a complete diognosis. dealer confirmed all 4 cat converters were dead and it probably caused by a leak in the exhaust manifolds. further research shows that nissan titans have a history of cracks in the exhaust manifold. this not only ruins the cat converters but exhaust fumes leak into the cabin causing a health risk. this is a known issue and i have contacted nissan about this but have not heard back from them yet.

Both rear axle seals started leaking all over my brakes and inside the wheel well causing poor breaking ability. i called the nissan dealer and they told me this is a common problem with titans and that they no longer recommend replacing just the seals but instead the whole axle. the tech (who told me he had 20 yrs with nissan) said that when they used to just replace the seals people would have to come back 6 months later because the seals would blow again. all of the posts online say that it is a result of an improper venting system that does not allow for the release of negative pressure. if this is such a common problem, and nissan knows that it is, why don't they do a full recall? this is a very dangerous problem that can cause brake failure.

On a recall for a faulty ecm (engine control module). the vehicle stalled and would not start again, had it towed to dealer. nissan covered this ecm. during the repair the mechanic noted that the rear axle seals were leaking and recommended that they be repaired as soon as possible. the cost to repair was estimated at $750.00. while web surfing for the repair process for the seals i ran across many complaints concerning this problem with the nissan titan including models from 2004 to present (2012). based on the feedback from other titan owners, this is a common flaw with the vehicle and a costly one at that. also this is the first time i have ever witnessed rear axle seals failing in a vehicle. most seem to last the life time of the vehicle. i believe this is a manufacture's responsiblity due to a defective parts creating an unsafe and useless means of transportation.

Axle seals on rear of vehicle leak excessively

Rear axle seals have now failed for the 3rd time. nissan dealers tells me nissan will not permit them to replace seals alone. nissan corporate headquarters fix is to replace entire axle assembly at a cost of approximately $800 each axle. nissan is obviously aware of a design problem, but will not take the lead to fix, but put the cost of a defective design on the back of their customers. nissan service representative told me there is a flaw in the materials used in the differential and differential is not venting properly thus causing the seals to prematurely fail. i fail to understand why a recall has not been issued since this is a common problem on nissan titan trucks that nissan will not face. sounds like nissan is having a toyota moment and burying their head in the sand..

Noticed loud banging in rear of truck. found the exhaust tailpipe broke off near the muffler and was hanging by a mounting post. upon inspection after removal of the tailpipe from the underside of truck, it looked like a junction of the tail pipe to the muffler pipe had completely rusted through.

2006 nissan titan se rear left seal leaking fixed under warranty. now the same issue on the left rear seal is leaking again and also the right rear seal is starting to leak. based on all my research i have done this seems to be an ongoing issue and should be continued to be covered after the warranty has expired. what are my options. my truck is now at the dealer and i should not have to pay for repairs. my truck has only 88,000 miles

Rear axle seals leaking fluid. safety issue due to fluid possibly leaking onto break pads and lack of lubrication fluid could lead to axle locking while in motion.

Truck has right rear axle leak. nissan dealer wants $470 for repair.

Right rear brake full of oil from defective axel seal. oil has leaked out of the right side of the rear axle and on to the disk brakes causing the right rear wheel to lock up when the brakes are applied. my family was forced to stop driving the truck as it will cause an accident and would cost $1200 to repair.

I have taken this avenue due to the fact that the phone numbers they gave me on my recall notice went no where. it seemed the 2 numbers i did call were no help so i am resorting to the internet process they offered. in my notification it states that the nissan titan/armada's - 2005-2006 models - that the air conditioner condenser fan motor have been manufactured out of specifications, that inadequate water drainage allows moisture to build-up leading to increased temperatures in the motor which in turn could cause wiring to melt the insulation and other plastic components and ultimately result in a fire. now there solution is to install a special protector kit to eliminate a potential fire to occur. my complaint is that if indeed these have been manufactured out of spec's then they need to be replaced not modified. i would hope that they would stand up and take responsibility and do the right thing, after all we paid a good sum of money for these vehicles and expect these items when they arrive to be handled in a professional manner, not by some rinky-dinky part installed to get them out of this problem that has risen. all i ask is that this be looked into, i'm not saying the part they wish and have already installed from my information on vehicles already wouldn't suffice but that is not what i paid for. thank-you *tr
