I was driving home from work taking same route as i've done for three years. it was my first time driving a recently purchased 2007 nissan versa hatchback. i moved into the turn lane and applied brakes to turn a 90 degree corner. the brakes failed. i had turned the wheel anticipating a normal turn however the car kept moving straight ahead. the car jumped a concrete island and came to rest. i knew immediately there was significant damage to the driver side although the damage was underneath the vehicle. it had to be towed to an auto repair facility approx one hundred yards from the scene of the accident. police came but no citation was issued. damage includes a broken front axle, damage to suspension, wheel etc. i contacted nissan to determine if my vehicle was included in the faulty brake fluid reservoir cap recall. nissan states it is not. the brakes failed and there's no explanation.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 nissan versa. while driving 25 mph, the contact suddenly noticed that the vehicle began to stall. neither the brakes nor the power steering were operable. as a result, the contact crashed into another vehicle on the opposite side of the road. there were no injuries, but a police report was filed. the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. the current and failure mileages were 38,000.

I just bought a nissan versa 2007 six months ago and today when i was coming from lunch and was in the parking lot trying to park and was driving at the speed of 6 mph. i tried to brake , but the brakes did not responsed and i hit the car in the front. i am completely shaken up about the incident, it could have been the freeway or a red light, i would have been dead. i will not recommend anyone to buy this car. *jb

Brakes seemed latent in collision, had to pump brakes on new car to avoid accident, 3 times. brakes sufficiently locked, but too late to avoid collision. skid marks from 120 feet at 50 mph impacted vehicle at 35 mph. dry conditions sunny day. 65 fahrenheit. i believe the brakes on this vehicle should have been sufficient and worked properly to avoid collision. i have never had this problem prior to owning a vehicle made by nissan. this was the first and last vehicle by nissan i will drive.*ak
