 Intake manifold blew up. contacted dealer, and the dealer was not willing to do anything.*ak

 Vehcile was making loud noise. dealer identified problem as being the carburetor. dealer was rebuilding carburetor, and replacing a non reverse drum. part being used was a non heat treated part, and will always have a problem. part is called the non reverse drum.*ak

 Vehicle experienced problem with stalling intermittently. vehicle been in/out of dealer shop on seven occasions within thirteen months, and replaced fuel pump on four occasions, but problem is still reoccurring. *ak in addition to stall outs and non starting, all the fuel poured on the ground the consumer does not feel safe driving the vehicle. *yh

 Gasoline evaporation leak at tank hose causing engine warning light to come on. gm dealer says hose is broke at tank and only way to fix it is to replace entire length of hose and fuel tank at a cost of approximately $780. apparently, this is a one piece sealed system and would appear there is a defect in the material if the leak is occurring somewhere between the two ends. *la

 Dt: 1998 oldsmobile intrigue. while driving at any speed the vehicle stalled. the dashboard lights came on only after the car stalled. had coast to the side of the road, tried several times to restart vehicle. it finally restarted. after several days vehicle stalled again. had the car on diagnostic test and they could not duplicate the problem or find anything anything wrong. diagnostic test was done twice. replaced all the gaskets, the brain box, fuel filter. spent several thousands of dollars for repairs. this problem started about 6 months ago. *ak updated 11/02/05

 When starting the vehicle smoke came from under the hood. consumer was informed that intake manifold blew out. dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.*ak

 Engine repeatedly mis-fires. problem more common during cold or damp weather, but not limited to these conditions. multiple parts replaced before resolving problem by replacing fuel injector for cylinder #3. problem corresponded in close proximity (within 10 days of) the failure of ignition switch, and dealer speculated both problems related.
