| Fuel pump fails repeatedly on vespa gts250. it has caused me to almost get killed on highway 288 south of houston when it failed on an incline and i had multiple vehicles behind me and beside me on the freeway. worse... it is a known issue among vespa owners and yet the manufacturer refuses to acknowledge the problem. | |||

| 2007 vespa gts 250ie, 4,316 miles. engine shutoff while riding, 6 times since bought brand new in 2007. almost got into accident, because engine shut off and slows down dramatically while car driver were driving behind going at 60 mph. replaced sparkplug, didnot fix the problem. used fuel cleaner addictive, didnot fix problem. suspected fuel pump issue. engine also shut itself off while on idle. | |||

| My son was involved in an accident riding upon a vespa. at the time he reported that it 'took off on it's own and he could not stop it'. frankly we thought that he was trying to explain bad driving or something of the sort. when we went to examine the scooter to estimate repairs we had the same thing happen with the scooter and the center stand. we currently have the scooter in our possession and the defect should be repeatable. we have notified piaggio over a week ago and they have not contacted us. | |||
