| Defect Summary | Certain tigas fuel pump modules manufactured between june 1 and september 24, 2006, sold under various brand names and p/nos. these fuel pump modules are sold as aftermarket for use in certain daimlerchrysler vehicles listed above. silicone material used in manufacture of the flapper valve was out-of-specification, leading to excess swell of the flapper valve restricting the flow of fuel to the fuel pump module. | |||||||||||||||

| Tl*the contact owns a 1998 plymouth breeze. the contact stated that the vehicle would not start. the mechanic stated that the fuel pump failed and the top section was burned. there is a recall for the fuel system, gasoline: delivery: fuel pump (nhtsa campaign id number 06e088000); however, the contact had not verified if his vin was included. the current and failure mileages were 109,000. | |||

| I was driving to my sisters and was going towards a light , going to turn left and before i was able to do that the car went dead , the fuel pump went, the car just went dead and almost caused an accident, people peeping their horns, telling me to get off the road etc. i had to call a tow truck in the middle of the night. i brought it to a chrysler dealership and had the fuel pump and filter replaced, which cost me $663 and for a single mother i can not afford. *nm | |||
