Tl*the contact owns a 1993 plymouth grand voyager. the contact stated that it is very difficult to depress the brake pedal in his vehicle. he has to use all of his strength to get them to work. in addition, the abs pump is running and will not shut off. the abs lights and brake lights are currently illuminated. the rear wiper on the rear hatch has been replaced four times at the cost of $350. the wiper currently needs to be replaced again. within six months of having the vehicle repaired, the failure recurred. the driver's side door is falling off the hinges and the door was repaired once before with a used door. the door currently needs to be repaired or replaced again. at 81,000 miles, the transmission had to be replaced due to shift bump behavior; however, the failure still persists. the air conditioner has not worked since the vehicle was purchased. the current mileage was 151,000 and failure mileage was 100,000.

Bought van used august 1999 with 91,000 miles. van now has 134,000 miles. transmission has been rebuilt/replaced 3 times [2 rebuilds - october 2000 (cost: ~$1600) and april 2001 (cost:~$550); replaced with used transmission after last failure april 2003 (cost:$901)]. computer controls (single board engine controller - sbec) went bad while traveling at night on interstate on a trip - caused cam sensor and crank sensor to go bad as well (cost: ~$550). as you can see we have spent ~$3600 on a van that was purchased for $3700!!????? i am considering legal action against chrysler now.

I have had trouble with the abs since i bought the car. the system has been replaced 3 times to date and is now beginning to fail once again. i have had numersous repairs to the a/c system. thew first was in 1996 ($472). the second in 1998 ($850). the third also in 1998 ($286). the fourth again in 1998 ($673). the fifth in 1999 ($178). the sixth in 2000 ($688). so, to date, i have spent over $3000.00 having the a/c repaired on this vehicle. the frequency of repairs and the amount paid for these repairs is unacceptable and suggests that there is a major problem with this component that should be the responsibility of the manufacturer. to summarize, i have had frequent and excessive problems with both the abs and a/c systems. thank you for you attention.

We have had problems with the air conditioner for almost two years. during the warmer months, we have had to add freon about every 2 months. we have had to add freon to the system at least 5 times since 8/98, which is excessive because the air conditioning system is generally only used during the summer months in northern illinois. earlier air conditioning system checks could not detect where the leak was occuring. a recent check in april resulted in a diagnosis of an evaporator problem. the firestone repair shop manager stated that air conditioner problems were common for the plymouth/chrysler minivans. *ak

Over charging of ac system, causes transmission/tires and engine to lock.this is an extreme hazard to passangers of both vehicles, and any other on coming vehicle. plus it can be used by dealers to sell transmissionsions.it causes premature tire failure. and extreme loss of control on turns.it is also a hazard on any vehicles with the same system.i've spoken to two dealers and two local car mechanics.who could not solve my problem.until the a/c system failed, and the a/c tech knew what was causing the problem.my vehicle would stall half way through a turn(routinely),all four wheels (all wheel drive)would lock up at 65mph on the interstate.i've never had a set of tires last longer than about twenty thousand miles. all three dealers my vehicle was serviced at since it was new, never addressed the problem. *ak

The transmission slips at starting and after stops is slow to re-engage, the radio for a long time has shut off on its own and then when you try to turn it back on sometimes it takes 20 to 30 tries to turn it back on. the transmission and radio problems are the same as a van owned by my wife's brother.
