| Defect Summary | Vehicle description: passenger mini-vans. covers on the solid stalk mounted seat belt buckles can become dislodged causing the release button to stick inside the cover. the buckle would then be only partially latched. | |||||||||||||||

| Tl*the contact owns a 1993 plymouth grand voyager. the contact stated that the liftgate hinge was not operating correctly. the liftgate closed without assistance. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and repaired. also, the abs warning light illuminated intermittently on the instrument panel. the contact applied pressure to the brake pedal and experienced difficulty slowing down. there was also a malfunction with the seat belt assembly buckle. recently, while driving approximately 65 mph in the rain, the windshield wipers stopped working without warning. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic on three separate occasions. the technician advised that the vehicle be taken to an authorized dealer. at this time, the vehicle has not been repaired. the failure mileage was 142,000 and current mileage was 155,000. update 10/01/08 *cw the set belt would not retract. updated 10/03/08. *jb | |||

| In october 1997, the driver side seat belt jammed in the fully retracted position. i had it replaced and didn't think much about it. then in july 1998, the exact same problem occurred with he belt for the right second bench seat position. i had this belt replaced, but this time i asked the dealer for the defective belt. i have it. do you want it? i feel that one failure may have been bad luck, but two failures seems like there may be a problem with the components. | |||
