So far this vehicle has been a lemon. i have replaced everything on it, from fuel pump, sensors, steering column, belt tensioner and pulley, alternator, wiper switch that seems to have a mind of its own even tho i replaced a new switch. now more electrical problems. the instrument cluster is now messed up. abs light and check engine light keep coming on all my gauges go flat. lights go dim. then suddenly lights will flash and they will all come back on. then go off again. now, not only do they go flat but now i have a shifting problem. the vehicle will not shift. it seems to be stuck in 2nd gear. i replaced the whole braking system. egr valve, cam sensor, cruise control, the body. the gas petal use to accelerate on its own. that was a little scary goin down the road not knowing when it was gonna do that. everyone who rides with me keeps joking as if the vehicle is haunted. lights go weak, ive replaced all the bulbs cleaned the headlights. nothing seems to work right on this vehicle. ive already invested thousands. way more then its worth. ive had problems where the vehicle just refuses to start. sometimes not a problem. then usually in the cold it wont turn over at all. i have replaced the battery numerous times checked for codes. airbag light would come on. transmission hesitates. sometimes vehicle shudders acts like its gonna quit.vehicle just has on going problems.

The instrument panel started going off and on. when it would go off the abs light would come on and then the engine service light would come on, during this time every thing went out. the speedometer, odometer, gas and temperature gauges went out. i would hit the dash and it would work correctly. i finally had to replace it and that one lasted about a year and a half. so know i have put another one in and at this time having problems getting it to function. i see a lot of complaints on the internet, but none on nhtsa website. *tr

Fuel gauge intermittent non-functional. increasingly more frequent engine dying episodes, then is able to restart after 5-10 minutes rest period. mil lamp code reads battery power disconnect to pcm during previous 40 engine cranks. i suspect a faulty relay( switch) component that fails at certain voltages and after equilibration rest period its value returns to normal and restarts (allows current to pass through from battery. source to pcm and into ignition circuit). *nlm

I have had problems with this vehicle ever since i bought it. i took the van to a garage for the problem i'm reporting and they said it was a problem with the vehicle losing grounding and burning out the pcm(?), bcm(?). they also told me that this is not a part that is manufactured for replacement, you have to pull the defective one out and send it in to be repaired. this will take anywhere from 2 to 5 days and the cost is $1,500. add to this, 2 to 5 days of a rental car in order to be able to commute to and from work. never will i buy another plymouth. ever. *ak

Severe electrical problem. wipers come on by themselves, headlights stay on, dashboard lights go on and off while driving. vehicle overheats, a/c stops working. this has been the absolute worst vehicle ever owned. it cost too much to keep repairing, please advise on the electrical problem possibilities. thanks. *ak

When car is slowing to make a turn, the windshield wipers come on. the service engine light stays on. when a diagnostic test was performed, the code which came up indicated a problem did not exist. it was determined a short caused the windshield wipers and engine light to stay on. when the computer was reset, the light came back on in a matter of minutes. i do not think this problem is due to age of the car. many of my friends who have these same autos have the same problem. to correct the problem will require an extensive search of the electrical wiring and is performed on an hourly rate. this could well cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars to track down the problem. i am unable to sell my vehicle due to the problem without spending a large sum of money to correct the problem. this problem began several years ago, but was only sporadic. it did not occur enough to warrant a search. in the past year it has become routine. what can plymouth corporation do to correct this problem without the expense being that of the owner. the mechanic at the shop also indicated that he was completely familiar with this problem occurring in most vans of this age. please advise what the next step should be. *jb

A spark from an unknown source ignited gasoline from a small leak in the fuel pump and resulted in the minivan catching on fire. the wiring of the vehicle was also burned in the fire. the repair shop who intially looked at the vehicle felt it would be better for chrysler to perform the repair work due to the wiring being involved. our local chrysler dealership refused to allow the car to be toed to the dealership until national chrysler sent out an investigator to determine the cause of the fire. we have been provided little information from chrysler other than their belief the fire was not due to a manufacturing problem. they have not stated what they believe caused the fire and the delay in getting our vehicle repaired was over 1 week. we have yet to get the vehicle back! *ak
