Left side strut tower rusted through on 1999 plymouth voyager, i noticed this after we had bought it in 2005 and was told that it would not be covered from chrysler, found out that i was not the only one this had happened too, chrysler made the mistake and they should stand behind it, i was getting maintenance when it fell apart, lucky it didn't happen on the highway. *tr

Strut tower corrosion - 1999 plymouth grand voyager. strut tower was rusted through with 65,000 miles on the odometer, asked dealership to look at it and they refused and referred me to a body shop. i received similar answers from other dealers in the area. estimated costs for this repair is $1,600. i called chrysler customer care and the customer care person was very rude and dismissive, and his tone was snide and scathing as i was told that i was over 30k miles out of my warranty and why was i calling their company to get help in these repairs. when i asked for a higher rep i was denied care and again, scathingly was told the problem was not theirs. after looking online i found that this issue was something reported before. *jb

Metal fatigue-8 inch crack has been found by me on the drivers side where the mcpherson strut is connected to the body fender mounting area. i have never seen anything like this. car has never been in a front accident and is garage kept. i have been the sole owner of the vehicle. if this crack continues this car will no longer function and have to be junked. i believe this is a chrysler manufacturing defect. chrysler should be completely responsible for its repair or alternate solution provided to me. *tr

Strut tower corrosion - 1999 plymouth grand voyager. strut tower was rusted through with 103,000 miles on odometer. asked dealership to repair - they wouldn't touch it. received similar answers from other dealers in area. only green chrysler-plymouth, east moline illinois would attempt the repair. cost was $900.00+ lack of inspection and support on this issue from dealership network is appalling. there is an inspection port on the strut tower - so the engineers knew there could be the potential for a problem when it was built. yet the dealerships do not inspect. a tower doesn't instantaneously corrode between 99k and 103k. there was a problem prior to the 100k barrier and no one picked up on it. but the interesting thing is that there are so many folks that have the same issue. there were two other cars into the same body shop along with my vehicle with the same failure! please check public forums on the web using google or another search engine. you will find that the problem is prevalent and yet...nothing is being done to alert the public as to problems. can you imagine what would happen if that strut tower would fail while the vehicle is at speed? how many must die before there is any action taken? *jb
