Poor design of fuel tank/fuel pump connection will cause fuel leak, only a matter of time. consequence - possible fuel fire, explosion! fuel tank has brass inserts in blind holes to accommodate fastening of fuel pump with o-ring seal between fuel pump and fuel tank. good idea but very bad and dangerous design. these brass inserts will loosen in blind hole of fuel tank and cause a leak due to lack of compression of o-ring. don't know exact reason for loosening, possibly expansion/contraction from temperature changes, low to high elevation changes or just plain old vibration and fatigue. whatever the cause, this is a very serious safety hazard, extremely dangerous to life and health, not to mention monetary loss due to property damage and destruction of vehicle. i asked a local polaris dealer about this problem and all they wanted to do was sell me a new fuel tank/fuel pump assembly, polaris industries answer/solution wasn't any better. polaris industries needs to step up to the plate and offer a recall/repair of this defect before someone is injured or killed. shouldn't try to deceive people or piss off old people who have time on their hands to expose the truth.
