| Tl- the contact owns a 2005 pontiac g6. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds the rear brake lights illuminated independently. the vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and the brake light switch was replaced. one month later the failure recurred. the brake light was switched by the dealer a second time. the manufacturer was notified but they offered no assistance. the vin was unavailable. the failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 71,000. pmb | |||

| I smelled a very strong odor of gas as i walked up to my car. the check gas cap display came on. i replaced the gas cap and warning is still displayed. the smell of gas has continued to worsen and seems to be coming from the gas tank. it doesn't matter if the car is running or not. i have researched and found many owners of the same year and make car are having the same problem however, nobody has found the exact cause. suggestions have been to check evaporative solonoid, gaskets, tubing to and from tank. i've done all and the odor continues to worsen. | |||

| While driving down the road at approx 30 mph i started to accelerate and the transmission seemed to down shift very hard and caused the engine to rev extremely high and when it went to shift up it shifted so hard it seemed the transmission was going to fall out. this was also followed by the check engine light coming on. since this incident this happens on a regular basis and but not every time i drive it. nor is the check engine light always on. i also have trouble sometimes putting the car in park and trying to remove my key from ignition. i have to move the shifter back and forth to get the car into park to remove my key. on most occasions when i am at a complete stop and go to accelerate the engine will rev really high and i have to take my foot off the gas to allow the car to shift. | |||
