Cpst noted during crs installation that vehicle owners manual for 2005 pontiac g6 gt indicated that latch anchors were located in outboard seating locations. vehicle clearly had 6 lower anchors (3 sets). lower anchor configuration appears atypical for the rear driver side and center seating positions. these 4 anchors are unevenly spaced and likely require the use of every-other anchor to properly secure a crs. the vehicle manual guidance directions could pose a significant risk as the rear outboard location behind the driver has 2 anchors spaced about 8-9 inches apart. center latch install could also be a problem as the two center most anchors (of the 6 total anchors) are also spaced only 8-9 inches apart. this atypical spacing is not uncommon in gm vehicles but is detailed in the vehicle manuals.....and usually includes an illustration. this particular vehicle manual gave no clue as to which of these atypical anchors should be used to install a crs behind the driver or in the center with latch. vehicle manual cover indicated it was the 2005 pontiac g-6 manual. the first page of the manual ....indicated the part # for the manual was: 05pon/buiwarsupl 2004 gmc this complaint involves primarily the vehicle owners manual ...but indirectly involves atypical lower latch anchors that are spaced non-intuitively and may result in installation errors for child safety seats. *tr

I recently purchased a 2005 pontiac g-6...the rear door locks do not have child safety locks. my 2 year old, who was in his car seat was able to unlock and open the back door while riding down the highway. had he not been in his car seat he would have fallen out of the car traveling at 50 mph. *nm

My power steering light had been coming on intermittently for the past few days. yesterday while leaving a parking garage the power steering light came on. i continued driving and as i went to turn the wheel, the power steering went out while making a left turn (5-8mph). i nearly ran into a pillar in the parking garage. i turned the car off and back on and the problem went away, but the power steering light stayed illuminated. after searching the internet for some time, i came across hundreds of similar problems. a few of the same problems occurred while people where driving on the interstate which could have been deadly if someone would have been going around a turn or just switching lanes. i just don't understand why there hasn't been a recall to fix this problem. the car industry want us to stick behind american made products but are unwilling to fix potentially deadly problems until the inevitable occurs and someone losses their life because of a problem they know about. maybe that's why many are buying quality made foreign made products. over the five years i had the car i have had numerous problems this car has been a money pit. the hood latch broke, the power window motor went. the rotors have to be replaced more often than i change the oil ( that's ridiculous), the bearings went bad, the six disc factory cd player stops working and sticks constantly, the blower for the heater and ac only works on high, the panoramic sunroof leaks which has caused water to accumulate in the trunk and now their is a mildew smell ect......... *tr

Too many complaints to write them all up, here are a few: engine makes metal grinding whooshing noise independent from acceleration-dealer cannot replicate, warped rotors-dealer wanted over $1,000 to fix, have had radio replaced 5 times due to disc errors-dealer keeps replacing, had steering rack and water pump replaced at 30,000 miles-dealer covered, sensor that turns on lights went-dealer replaced, power steering problems, hard to turn and rough, but no lock-ups like others have had(thankfully)-dealer cannot replicate, had drivers side front panel sunroof drain clog, water soaked front carpet(3 inches of water)-dealer fixed but left me with a moldy carpet!, engine flutters/stutters to a start on random-dealer has no answer for me, trunk lid was scraping rear bumper due to latches being tightened wrong-dealer fixed, headlamp full of condensation-dealer fixed, car ridiculously bad in the rain and snow, stability control makes loud grinding noises and causes the car to buck, replaced tires with snow tires, still bad-dealer has no answer for me, large deep scratch across windshield right in the line of view from contour oem windshield wipers, dealer said too bad. those are just a few, i cant remember them all, this car is such a lemon. im sticking with toyota from now on! i learned my lesson! *tr
