| My son was traveling home and discovered that the steering wheel became hard to control. due to recent shoulder surgery in december, it was very difficult for him to control the steering wheel. in an effort to gain control, he placed pressure on the shoulder and safely got the car off of the road. due to the pressure on the shoulder, he was taken to the orthopedic center to have his shoulder examined for additional injury. after reviewing over 132 complaints online and the recalls that were made for the 2005 pontiac g5 but not the 2005 pontiac g6. my wife and i are very distraught that the g6 was not placed on the recall list and that our son was so close to losing his life. we purchased the pre-owned vehicle in may 2011. since there has been so many complaints and close encounter with bodily injuries and/or death, we have also contacted the gm manufacture to determine why the pontiac g6 was not placed on the recall list. we only want this problem repaired to ensure that our son is driving a safe vehicle and therefore are requesting an investigation into this matter. | |||

| I was driving approx 30 mph and when i went into a curve the power steering quit working and i almost ran into the ditch and hit a mial box. luckily, i missed both of them but pulled a muscle in my shoulder trying to keep the car on the road. i pulled off to the side of the road and my 3 point turn turned into a 8 point turn. the power steering light was on the screen flashing. this can be very dangerous and deadly. this needs to be a recall before someone dies and the company is sued, considering the fact that i'm seeing this reported quite often. | |||

| My power steering keeps going out! i received a notice in the mail it was recalled and when i took it into the gm dealer they said the recall was for something else. i would have to pay $765 for a new power steering column to fix the problem. my dash light and power steering notice comes on every day and my power steering has gone out about 3 times so far. luckily only while pulling into or out of a parking spot. i have seen hundreds! of other complaints about this issue. i will never buy another gm car again!!!!!!!! nor will i allow my family to buy one either! | |||

| I have a 2005 pontiac g6 gm recall # 80317 - the recall does not include my vin #. my vehicle has every symptom and issue that the recall calls out for but gm/pontiac will not honor the recall because it does not include my vin #. is there anyways that my vin can be included in the recall? i am a safety hazard as my brake lights dont work, my cruise control doesnt work and when i try to shift the car out of park, i have to apply a lot of force to the brake pedal. all of these are issues that are called out in the recall. *tr thanks aaron slavey | |||

| Too many complaints to write them all up, here are a few: engine makes metal grinding whooshing noise independent from acceleration-dealer cannot replicate, warped rotors-dealer wanted over $1,000 to fix, have had radio replaced 5 times due to disc errors-dealer keeps replacing, had steering rack and water pump replaced at 30,000 miles-dealer covered, sensor that turns on lights went-dealer replaced, power steering problems, hard to turn and rough, but no lock-ups like others have had(thankfully)-dealer cannot replicate, had drivers side front panel sunroof drain clog, water soaked front carpet(3 inches of water)-dealer fixed but left me with a moldy carpet!, engine flutters/stutters to a start on random-dealer has no answer for me, trunk lid was scraping rear bumper due to latches being tightened wrong-dealer fixed, headlamp full of condensation-dealer fixed, car ridiculously bad in the rain and snow, stability control makes loud grinding noises and causes the car to buck, replaced tires with snow tires, still bad-dealer has no answer for me, large deep scratch across windshield right in the line of view from contour oem windshield wipers, dealer said too bad. those are just a few, i cant remember them all, this car is such a lemon. im sticking with toyota from now on! i learned my lesson! *tr | |||

| I received a notice from pontiac in the month of august 2010 regarding a power steering defect with 2005 pontiac g6 models. the notice said repairs would be covered within 10 years of the date the vehicle was placed in service or 100k miles. i received this notice just after my vehicle reached 100k miles. i beleive pontiac delayed the notice long enough to make sure owners would be denied on the 100k limit. pontiac should pay for my repairs. | |||

| 2005 pontiac g6. brake lights stay on when driving, cruise control disengages and have to depress brake petal extremely hard to get out of park. researched problem and found out that there was a recall for this problem for some but not all vehicles of that model make & year. was told that my vin were not included for that recall. this is of major concern for me, an accident almost occurred due to this problem. with the economy the way it is and lack of funds to be able to repair what should have been covered by gm why was my vin number not included in this recall of the same problem? if an accident occurs gm should be required to pay for all damages both to the vehicles involved and any personal injury or death. | |||

| I bought my car on june 2, 2008, when we left the dealership we could smell oil burning, we thought they just overfilled the fluids, on thursday, june 5th, 2008 while going to lunch, my transmission gave out in my car, it went back to the dealership for eleven (11) days while they replaced the transmission. when we got it back from the transmission repair the air conditioner was no longer working and the brakes were squealing. we took it back to the garage a week and a half later for this and they said everything was fine. in the beginning of august, we noticed that the oil kept going low. on august 14th, 2008 we had to take it back to the garage because there was horrendous, mass amount of oil collecting under the motor. the garage kept my car again, because the rear main crank shaft seal went in the engine. they replaced the rear main crank shaft seal, it was in the garage until august 21, 2008, on this day when we picked the car up, we had to take it right back to the garage because it was hesitating to start and the transmission was shifting hard. the garage determined that wires were unplugged on the engine. on, september 5th while leaving work the car broke down on me again, this time the engine blew in the car. the car was in the garage until september 17th, 2008, while they replaced the engine. so in the few months that i have owned the car it has been in the garage for almost a month getting repair after repair done to it. *tr | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2005 pontiac g6. the contact noticed that the steering wheel was extremely difficult to turn. she also experienced roughness while driving, accompanied by a loud, indescribable noise. lastly, it was difficult to remove the key from the ignition. she took the vehicle to the dealer and had the drive-shaft replaced along with a sensor in the instrument cluster. immediately after the repair, the failure resurfaced. speed was not a factor. the failure mileage was 31,100 and current mileage was 49,000. | |||

| I was driving to work and noticed that my car had a mind of it own. next thing i knew, the check engine light came on and i lost my power assist. i pull off to the side of a very busy intersection and call a tow truck. next thing i knew, the check engine light went off and i could drive. the dealership is replacing the driveshaft for the second time. the 1st time it went out as i on a curve getting on the highway. i'm almost scared to drive the car, there seem to be no warning. it just happens!! today was the third time it happen in less than 2 years. *tr | |||

| I had taken a trip out of state and had been on the road for about three hour and decided to stop for dinner, after going through four stop lights the transmission started shifting extremly hard in to gears, so hard that the car was jerking in the next gear. i went through two more lights and pulled the car off the road.the dealership had the car put on a rollback and brought back the n.c. at my request. the service center had the car for nine days and could not get the car to repeat the problem and the car was returned to me with no repairs preformed. they said that no coded showed up on the cars computer.1024 miles on this g6 | |||
