| I bought the car in november 2009. i first noticed it 2 weeks after i purchased. the cruise would always turn off randomly. i noticed then that the brake lights would randomly come on. now they are pretty much on all the time even when the car is in park. they don't turn off unless car is off. the air bag light will come on and say its on when there is no one in the passenger seat. and sometimes when a passenger is in the seat it will be off. also with this the seatbelt alarm will ding and ding until i buckle in my invisible person. it isn't all the time but it worries me because having a faulty air bag is not cool. i've contacted gm because i saw that these things were on recall but they told me that my vin isn't recalled even though its the exact same issue. is there any way you can help? | |||

| I financed this used car in 2010 at 27,000 miles. since i have had this car i have not had the chance to really enjoy it because i am constantly fixing on it. i ave had a lot of problems. i have replaced brakes 2x once with rotors and they are goin out again including rotors. i am constantly replacing tires. my steering wheel pops when turning and i have had this fixed once. traction gone. had heat/air on and smoke smelling like a firecracker came from passenger dashboard. my biggest problem right now is that i had the whole suspension system replaced and now i am constantly replacing the lugs on my front left tire because the constantly pop off. brake lights and headlights constantly goes out. air bag, engine, and traction light goes on and off (sometimes staying on). power in driver door gone out for windows resulting in 3 windows unable to roll up/down but will work when wants. only one will go down using its own panel. replaced a crack in lca. remote starter gone out. car wheel shakes occasionally. interior lights doesn't work except front dashboard but minus where gear shaft at (went out after smoke from dashboard). needs struts to be replaced. also jerks with a huge pop that you can feel when putting car in gear. when accelerating you can feel it shift gears. i am currently only at about 83000 miles. nothing but trouble. scared serious accident may happen because of the lugs constantly poppin off. we don't know why. i called pontiac and gm and no recalls on this car except power-train and warranty for trans and none of this was covered by warranty or them period. tired of this car so tired!! gm and pontiac need to do something this is terrible to only be a 2007. *tr | |||

| I financed this used car in 2010 at 27,000 miles. since i have had this car i have not had the chance to really enjoy it because i am constantly fixing on it. i ave had a lot of problems. i have replaced brakes 2x once with rotors and they are goin out again including rotors. i am constantly replacing tires. my steering wheel pops when turning and i have had this fixed once. traction gone. had heat/air on and smoke smelling like a firecracker came from passenger dashboard. my biggest problem right now is that i had the whole suspension system replaced and now i am constantly replacing the lugs on my front left tire because the constantly pop off. brake lights and headlights constantly goes out. air bag, engine, and traction light goes on and off (sometimes staying on). power in driver door gone out for windows resulting in 3 windows unable to roll up/down but will work when wants. only one will go down using its own panel. replaced a crack in lca. remote starter gone out. car wheel shakes occasionally. interior lights doesn't work except front dashboard but minus where gear shaft at (went out after smoke from dashboard). needs struts to be replaced. also jerks with a huge pop that you can feel when putting car in gear. when accelerating you can feel it shift gears. i am currently only at about 83000 miles. nothing but trouble. scared serious accident may happen because of the lugs constantly poppin off. we don't know why. i called pontiac and gm and no recalls on this car except power-train and warranty for trans and none of this was covered by warranty or them period. tired of this car so tired!! gm and pontiac need to do something this is terrible to only be a 2007. *tr | |||

| Electrical, steering, abs- i've had multiple issues. when i first purchased the car, i heard a thump when turning. no one could find the problem. now its out of warranty and they found that it was the i shaft. in january of 2010, my anti lock break light came on. i had to replace a wheel bearing- $500 later, i thought i was set. i was wrong, another six months later, the check engine light and another light came on. a local gm dealer replaced the ecm control and cleaned the fuel injectors and sent me on my way, $200 later. an hour later, the lights came back on. my car shook awfully. i had another two hour drive until i got home, because i was on vacation when this happened. i took it to my local dealer and they said that some wires had rubbed together, and needed replaced, $300 later, i was sent on my way. this week, i took my car to get an oil change and the men noticed that my ball joint was going out. my tire literally shook in front of my eyes. talk about scary... i got my ball joint/control arm fixed, at a steal of $230 because my friends friend owns a shop and gave me a deal. i did get a quote from a local dealer for $420. in the past year, this car has been nothing but a money pit and it only has 55,000 miles on it. i want out! no more pontiacs for me! | |||

| Our 2007 g6 has a safety problem that results in the brake lights being on when the brakes are not applied and off when you apply the brakes. we have also experienced cruise control drop out at speed several times as well as difficulties shifting into drive unless extreme pressure is applied to the brake pedal. all three of these concerns line up with nhtsa campaign id number 09v036000 however our vehicle was built after the recall period. gm has been notified of the concern but reports that there are not recall notices or service bulletins for this vehicle. all three symptoms indicate that the recalled connector sited in 09v03600 continues to be a safety concern for vehicles manufactured after the recall period of 2005-2006. related to, but witnessed before, the brake light problems on our vehicle i followed a g6 on i75 north of auburn hills mi that had it's brake lights illuminated while at speed but they turned off when the driver slowed due to traffic. this is a concerning safety problem that must be addressed. | |||

| The brake lights on my car come on when i am not pressing the brake. i can be driving and they will come on by themselves, i can tell because the cruise control will dis engage and will not re engage. it took me a while to isolate the problem to the brakes, i had to have someone follow me in order to tell me when it was happening. it poses a safety risk because, you have you brake lights on all the time so cars behind you dont know when you are actually stopping. | |||

| At approximately 35,980 miles i began getting 'clunking' noises from my steering at low speeds and while turning. this is apparently a very common problem with the pontiac g6. it is appears to be a problem with the steering column. unfortunately i will have over 36,000 miles on the vehicle by the time i can get it to a dealership. this is a manufacture defect which if not addressed will eventually cause injury or death if not addressed by your office. a redesign and recall is required for this issue. does someone have to die for action to be taken? additionally, the factory brakes on the vehicle are very cheap. vented rotors are needed because they warp at approximately 20,000 miles due to heat. *tr | |||

| As a consumer i am writing you this letter to lodge a complaint for the car/lemon i have been leasing. the type of car i am leasing is a 2007 pontiac g6 4 door sedan, #. since leasing this vehicle i have many concerns of not only my own safety but the safety of other people on the road. here are the following issues since leasing this car: 1.replaced signal switch located on steering column on 1/16/08 2.replaced right visor for mirror on passenger side of car 1/16/08 3.replaced broken cable for right rear window regulator on 3/14/08 4.replaced steering column on 7/28/08 5.replaced front brakes with high end pads estimated date 8/08 6.replaced rear left bulb for brake lights estimated date 10/08 7.about a month after steering column was replaced the steering column again was making a clicking sound when turning right and left at a slow rate of speed. 8.instead of replacing the steering column they chose to lube intermediate steering shaft instead on 1/20/09 and i will have to keep coming in when the lube wears off!! really me having to come in every month or so!! that was their response to me!! 9.replaced radio because it didn?t come on when i turned on the car the display was blank. would eventually turn on when it wanted to replaced on 1/20/09 also in researching the steering column problem some peoples steering wheels have locked up and they were almost involved in accidents and said in there complaint does somebody have to be killed before gm has a recall on these cars?? it has been a known issue since the first model year 2005 has come out. per dominic torres my sales rep this has been a known issue but there have not been very many complaints lodged for any recall. per dominic it is because the steering column is electrical instead of using fluid and the design was changed in the 2008 model year. gm has contacted me and said they are not willing to lease a new car to me to replace this one. it will be re-poed shortly. *tr | |||

| I've had my 2007 pontiac g6 in the shop several times for brake issues. they changed pads, rotors and told me they couldn't stop the squeaking and that the strange jumping the brakes seemed to do was normal for abs - which i know is not correct as i have owned many cars with abs that didn't feel like this. recently, the traction control light came on, the brakes failed, the emergency brake failed and we hit the back of another car. gm sent an engineer out to look at the event data recorder; however, would not provide me with a copy of the report (they said it was proprietary). they are refusing to fix my car and when i asked why the traction control light came on, their professional told me i don't know - i wasn't there!. i've seen several complaints on edmunds.com about the rotors, over-heating problems and the need to have them replaced with non-gm parts to (hopefully) fix the problem. this is a major safety concern for me and i intend to dispose of the car as soon as possible. *tr | |||
