| Cruise control disengages and brake lights illuminate without pressing brake pedal and turn off when the brake pedal is pressed. i have researched and found reports of the same problems on the saturn aura and chevy malibu of the same year, and the pontiac g6 of 2005. | |||

| Starting in 09 when i purchased this car i've had problems and still to the current date (2/26/2013) i've had to replace the tie rods multiple times which result in new brakes and tires, which aren't cheap for this car! i recently went in today to get my cat converter replaced because the sensor was melting oh and again they tell me i need new brakes(shocker)-this is a saftey issue none the less. i've spent about 7 grand in repairs all for the car to just be ok to drive for the time being. i'm not sure why this car was never recalled because it's a piece of junk! i have saved all the receipts from the dealership and it's astronomical how many times i've had to bring it in, let's just say the guys at the shop all know me by name.. | |||

| When making a turn, the left front of the car clunks. i have taken this to a couple of different mechanics as well as dealerships and have been told that the intermediate shaft needs to be replaced. i'm also told that this is a common problem not only in the g6, but in all gm vehicles. i was informed that this would not be covered under any sort of recall and that over time, this will become a safety issue. i think that gm should admit that they have made a faulty part and do the right thing by recalling this and fixing it free of charge to the customer. | |||

| The connector terminal was burnt out and extremely corroded. my passenger headlight is burnt out and this has happened 4 times since january, it is currently october. the last two weeks has ruined two bulbs. this is a dangerous issue and should not be happening on a properly maintenance car. | |||

| Gear shift cable dislodged from the gear shift arm as i was putting the car into park. car was was left in drive and rolled forward to the curb & the car simultaneously shut off and was not able to be restarted. the gear shifter in the inside console was limp and able to move from gear to gear without pressing the release button. when i opened the hood this morning, i could see the plastic eyelet that is supposed to be attached to the inside orifice of the gear shift cable broke off . i keep my parking brake on and shifted the car to drive (with the engine off) and re-attached the gear shift cable to the shift arm. i was then able to shift the car into park and re start the car. in order to make it to the dealer, the gear shift cable is duct taped to the arm so it won't bounce off and stall the car while driving. it seems the 2007, 2009, 2010 models have recalls for this same problem. when will the 2008 be recalled before it is too late? thankfully this happened in my parking lot but if i was on the highway, the car would have lost all power, resulting in danger to myself and other motorists. | |||

| Brake lights stay on without the brakes being engaged. when you engage the brakes the lights go off. the cruise control is effected by this also. we have put dielectric lube on the switch as instructed by a certified gm tech. this works for a week or less. my research shows that the 2005/2006 models had a recall issued for this same issue. | |||

| Vehicle would not restart in park. after getting the vehicle to start in neutral the vehicle would roll away in park gear. the vehicle would not act as if it was in a correct gear and it did not want to go in reverse. i took my vehicle in to have it service. it was repaired and finally was told tha the gear shift cable was replaced. i initially took my vehicle in 9 days (7/25/11( after purchased (7/14/11 purchased date) back to the auto store to tell them my car acts as if i did not want to get gears or it would act ask it it wanted to cut off in park. i was told nothing was wrong with my vehicle. after the car would not restart i took it back and and told them the car would not start and it was still acting the same from my first visit on 7/25/11. after research, i realized that some 2009 pontiac g6 were recalled due to gear shift cables. mines is a 2008 that experience the same problem. | |||

| Intermittent stalling of the car while driving. at first the stalling took place once every few weeks and only as the speed was decreasing. the car was taken to the dealership, who said there was nothing wrong with the car. the dealership stated there was no codes in the computer to explain the stalling and was unable to replicate it. over the last 9 months the stalling has increased. the car stalls every few days, and at times stalls while accelerating. after the car stalls, it immediately starts right back up. | |||

| I purchased a 08 pontiac g6 gt used with around 20,000 miles. at 32,000 i started having problem with my rotors. they front of the car was shaking back and forth. i took it to a gm dealer and requested new rotors since i am aware of all of the problems they have been having with the rotors. they would not replace them but only turn them. at 42,000 they are now warped again. i first complained to the dealer that done the work and they said i was out of luck. the dealer i bought the car from said that i was out of luck. but they told me that it was a common problem with those cars. i filed a complaint with gm and they said it was a common problem where i live because of all the mountains. i feel that there should be a recall with the g6/malibu/aura (gm's epsilon) cars. they are aware of the problem and will not do anything to fix it. | |||

| Letter forwarded from the ftc from congressman dent on behalf of constituent who is requesting assistance with a complaint to gm regarding 2008 pontiac g6. *nj the consumer stated he had considered trading in the vehicle, but when he took the vehicle to the dealer, he was informed the trunk had been re-painted. the paint index was approximately 2 to 3 times higher in that particular place than anywhere else on the vehicle. therefore, the trade in value would be reduced. the consumer stated the vehicle was purchased as a brand new vehicle. *jb | |||
