| I have replace the housing that holds the headlights (pigtails) on both side of this pontiac five times now. the car sends too much electric current to the light bulbs that over heats the pigtails and melts them. i've searched online and have found thousands of complaints of this happening to the g6's. this has to be address and gm should do a recall to fix this before the cars catch on fire. please email me with your response with the word pontiac in the subject line. this is not the first time i've reported this. please someone do something before someone dies in an accident. *tr | |||

| On 12/31/2011 i was pulled over for a burnt out headlight. upon replacing the bulb i noticed that the socket where the bulb plugs in was melted. i put a new bulb in and it worked for 3 months. when that went out in march of 2012 i replaced it again. now in august of 2012 that bulb burnt out. there is a connection to the melted harness as the bulb that burnt out was melted slightly where it made a connection to the socket. this is obviously an issue that goes well beyond my vehicle as a search on the internet shows other owners with the same issues. when the light bulb burns out at night it puts everyone at a safety risk which is not acceptable. gm needs to do something about this. *tr | |||

| When diring the low beam light will go out. the vechcle when be fine and then the head lights will go dim or even go out when driving. this happens about ounce a month. problem started in may of of 2012. i see several complaints online regarding this vehicle. this is a know problem with the computer and bcm module. this vehicle is not safe to drive at night. i need for gm to issue a recall. | |||

| Tl- the contact owns a 2009 pontiac g6. the contact stated they have replaced the driver side head light 7 times in 8 months. the contact started checking to see if it was the bulb or the light and tried the light bulbs in the passenger side and the light bulbs worked. the contact stated that their mechanic said the pig tail for the driver side head light is causing the failure. the contact stated there were signs of burning around the head light. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 57,000 and the current mileage was 59000.rl | |||

| My driver side headlight was out. i replace the bulb from 2 different auto store and still not working. then my dad look at the connector look and seen that 1 of the wires was burned out. so i was told to take it to gmc and see if they can fix it since i had extended warranty. after telling service dept my issue and what i thought was wrong; i get hit with a $89 diagnosit fee that i had already had told them what was going on. they called and let me know that my connector was burned out and need to replace them in order the light to work and it wasn't covered thru my extened warranty so i had to pay $290 to get fix. after google this issue looks like this a on going issue for this vehicle that i think shoud be a recall before something else get shortgage due to burned out wiring. i don't have the vin# and mileage left paper work at home. | |||

| My brake lights stick or remain on even when they are not being pressed making it appear that im riding my brakes. i have been pulled over by the police once already. i have replaced the brake light switch twice and it works for a couple of days only. i have seen a recall in the 2005 and 2006 models but it is still occuring in the newer models. i have seen hundreds of blogs about this problem in this particular model of car. this is just an accident waiting to happen when your brake lights arent working correctly. as well as the car getting stuck in park. | |||

| Tl- the contact owns a 2009 pontiac g6. while driving approximately 35 mph, the brake lights illuminated without depressing the brake pedal. when the brake pedal was depressed the brake lights would not illuminate. the cruise control also disengaged whenever the brake lights illuminated although the brake pedal was not engaged. the failure was diagnosed by the auto shop mechanic where it was purchased. the mechanic stated the brake switch had to be replaced. after the vehicle was repaired, the failure continued to occur. the approximate failure mileage was 42,000. rvk | |||

| Was stopped by the police stating i had no taillights. took the car to the dealer and they stated that the fuse was blown and replaced. within about 3 weeks the fuse blew again. had it in twice since and they still cannot find the problem. keep it a few days and resend the car out. i have checked it out and it seems that when it blows it is in auto mode and when auto lights come on. they said no connection and leave it again. this is a safety issue for my family if we lose tailights at night we could be rear ended. also i am on my third set of headlights. keep blowing out. and second set of tires. | |||

| Tl. the contact owns a 2009 pontiac g6. the contact stated while driving 55 mph the heated seat began to burn the contact. the contact turned the heat seat off and the contact turned the vehicle off. the contact notice the leather in the seat was burnt. the contact restarted the vehicle and the heated seat took a while to cool down. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer. the dealer stated their was a short in the electrical seat that caused the seat to burn. the contact stated the seat could have caught on fire while driving causing serious injury. the failure mileage was 52,000. jo | |||

| I purchased a 09 pontiac g6 on july 28th 2010 it had 46000 miles 2 weeks after i bought it it cuts off for no reason in the middle of the street and would not crank up it was towed to the dealership and kept it for 9 days and still would not crank they got it to crank and then lock the keys up while having it running cause the door unlock and lock on their own but didn't know why it cut off and would not crank. so i got it back 2 week later it cuts off again while driving and gave no sign it was going to cut off and would not crank so i am stuck in the road again stranded for an hour i get it crank take it back to the dealer ship they don't know whats wrong it cuts off again while driving. take it back they don't know whats wrong and it cuts of about 6 to 8 more time while driving i take it to the dealer ship and they say the same thing and mind u these are all gm dealership and i used 3 different ones and they all say the same thing so it cuts off again i call gm myself and file a complaint they were no help and it stills cuts off til this day and it has an electrical problem as well cause the lights dim in and out when you turn on the air or heat or let the windows down or lock and unlock the doors . the engine runs rough and wheels sound like they about to come of while driving this is a bad car it looks good but drives bad and it not safe when the people who made it cant tell you why it cuts off while driving this very dangerous | |||

| I own a 2009 pontiac g6 gt.my anti theft system kicked on while driving. i parked my vehicle 5 minutes later for 20 minutes and when i tried to start it wouldn't crank. this was the first occurence. i have 2 small children in the car with me, but luckily i was pulling into my own driveway. i had just driven from columbus,oh. a few days later after trying to reset my sytem (because i thought it was the anti-theft device) i had it towed to a dealer. as it turns out my negative battery cable had broken. according to the mechanic there was a defect in the cord. the mechanic had to do some re wiring. i just thank the lord that my car didn't cut off while driving. | |||

| I was on the road and the anti theft lock symbol appeared just before all my dash gauges went wacky. i didn't have speedometer and then no odometer so i pulled off road and shut off car before anything else could happen. car wouldn't restart after several attempts. wiring harness was the problem according to the mechanics that repaired my car. i took my car in again after fix because remote start interrupted and wouldn't work and was told remote needed a new battery even though it only had 29,000 miles. *tr | |||
