| Everytime there is a heavy rain the floors of my 2001 pontiac grand am gets soaked. yesterday was by far the worst of all, there was about 3 inches of standing water on the passenger side floor. my car smells of mildew and the carpet is ruined. this seems to be a common problem for this car and i would like to see something done about this. i feel like i have wasted my money and i still have 2 years of payments remaining. *nm | |||

| After long or heavy periods of rain, standing water on floor behind drivers seat. problem is on passenger side as well. have taken back to dealer several times. door rubber/seal has been replaced and door alignment has been done. problem persists. dealer claims it is not a known defect. dealer will not assume responsibility beyond standard warranty on repairs completed. also states that mildew and/or rust will not be a problem since the car was treated at the manufacturer against rust and mildew. the service manager of the dealer has requested that i leave my car with them a few days to allow more time for them to review the situation. plan to contact manufacturer. *nlm | |||

| The car was purchased new (10 miles on it) in sept. of 2001. we have had repeated problems with the car pulling to the right (usually every 30-45 days. the car was taken to the dealership several times, said no problem was found. we realized something was wrong with the vehicle, took the car to other professionals, and notified the manufacturer. manufacturer requested inspection by the original dealership (?0 nothing found wrong. we requested another inspection which was done by another dealership. found the sub-frame was defective from the factory. said this would cause the steering to be off. my concerns is that a defected sub-frame may be the cause of the many complaints by the consumers for this car. a decision has not been made by the manufacturer as to how to handle this as of 7/18/02. *jb ***dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut-over to artemis*****764384 | |||

| 2001 pontiac grand am has problems cranking. ignition turns over but engine will not crank until 3-4 tries. does not do it on a consistent basis and dealership has not been able to duplicate problem. it has been in 4 times for this problem and 4 times because the back doors will not open some times without bumping the doors with your hip. dealership was not able to duplicate problem. also, rearview mirror fell off, side mirrors had to be replaced because clear coat was left off, door reflector fell off, weather strip on window fell off, blinkers stopped working. despite the fact that this car is well taken care of, it is coming apart at the seams. pontiac rep has been contacted answer is the same, we have to duplicate problem. it has now began stalling out after you get it cranked. i am now contacting gm/bbb as a last resort. please help me if you can. *jb | |||

| I was leaving a doctor's appointment. when pulling out of my parking spot the car would not turn right. i turned the wheel back and forth as far as it would go. it would turn all the way left and not go right at all. i backed back into my parking spot. took a look underneath and did not notice anything wrong. i got back in and tried turning the wheel again. this time the wheel turned both ways. i left the parking lot to return home. on the way home i heard some knocking sounds coming from the front end whenever i drove over a bump or pot hole. also turning the car to the right did not feel or sound good. i decided to drive straight to my mechanic. in a couple of hours i got a phone call from my mechanic. it turns out the frame was totally rusted out. the frame being rusted out was causing the problems with steering. the car is only ten years old and has 36, 400 miles on it. | |||

| I purchased a used vehicle in march 2006. at that time i was provided a car report that showed no accident history/clean to everything. at a later time i went to purchase new insurance and i was first alerted to an accident. i found out the vehicle was in an accident in june 2002, over $700.00 in damage. in 2003 again, was taken to a body shop for repairs. i have tried to work with the dealership to handle this situation. i took the vehicle to one of their vendors-same outcome. my vendor same outcome--extensive damage/frame straightening etc. i asked for my money back or a new vehicle. they refused. it would cost more to fix this car than it is worth. i need some assistance. i looked them up on the bbb and they have 55 reports in 36 months. not to mention they are making a 1000% profit off of me. *jb | |||

| Tl*contact owns a 2001 pontiac grand am. she noticed that there was a leak under her vehicle for a few years. on several occasions the dealer was unable to find the cause of the leak. the dealer later stated that the leak was coming from the gas tank line and it was a fuel leak. they also told her that there was a related recall; however, her vin was not related. the contact is aware of the safety risk involved and request that her vin is a part of the existing nhtsa campaign id number 07e021000. the dealer information is not available. the failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 98,000. the consumer stated the vehicle is still located at the repair shop awaiting word from the corp office. the dealer stated replaced hazard lights switch, speaker radio rear door, molding windshield side pillar, exterior bulbs, and wiper blade. updated 10/31/07 *tr | |||
