| Was entering hwy 285 northbound when fellow motorist caught my attention that fire was coming out the bottom of my car. tried to stop but didnt have any brakes, so i put the car in park and jumped out as the flames engulfed the engine compartment of the car. i feel that it was due to a defected recall part that was suppose to prevent what has happen to my car. i was the second owner of this car which was garaged and in immaculate condition. | |||

| Car was driving perfectly fine. parked my car at the back of the bally's parking lot. thought i smelled something funny. waited 3 minutes then saw some white smoke coming out of both sides of hood of car. i thought white smoke meant overheated (which has never happened to car) i popped the hood and the there were flames coming out of the engine. called 911. police and fire came and put it out with fire extinguisher. i will need to get car towed somewhere, however it can be examined for root cause. | |||

| I had drove approx. 2 miles, parked car, went inside, 10 to 15 minutes later, our friend ran in, our car was on fire. since this occurance, i have found out about the recall (calls), engine and engine cooling. we have never received these recalls. the description given in ea07008, seems to match. this vehicle is a lose, the fire melted everything but the metal, the tires are even melted on the front. when we ran outside, the fire was in the engine compartment. | |||

| I have a 2000 pontiac grand prix that i've loved and had for for at least the last 6 years. and 10-15 minutes after parking in my driveway 3 feet away, i heard a loud pop and hiss outside to find smoke & flames shooting from the hood! i had to call 911 to put out fire and was scared to death my just filled gas tank would ignite and blow up the car and our house right next to it! i only have liability so insurance can't do a thing. it was a very close call and i'm investigating how and why this happened. i was lucky it didn't happen as i was just driving it. the entire front end was burnt up. there is no repairing what happened. everything plastic is melted and gone and everything is fried. | |||

| There have been more than i can count on both hands to the incidents that this care has stalled. it happens unexpectantly and i never know when it is gonna happen, but it always seems to happen when i am in the middle of traffic. so, i have to pull over and try and start the car. which it will start then sputter and stall and die. it has had a new computer, 2 new fuel pumps, fuel resistor, fuel relay switches, starter, supercharger, 2 fuse boxes which are a discontinued part that has to come from an auto wrecker, and recently a wire that was frayed behind the fuse box that had something to do with the fuel system. all this has been done within the last 10 months since we purchased the car on payments on june 1, 2009. needless to say i am not sure as of this last repair if it has corrected the problem. my main concern is if i were driving on a windy mountainous road with no turnouts and the car decided it wanted to stall, where would i go or do. because a car or big rig could be coming around the turn and not even know i was stopped. my life and any other drivers or passengers would be in jeapordy of being injured and/or killed. this car to me is very unsafe and i am stuck with payments and don't know what to do about the problems we have had or even if it has been resolved. | |||

| In late 2007 my husband and i bought tires for my 2000 pontiac grand prix. we purchased p225/60r16 yokohama avid touring. since our purchase i have had numerous unresolved problems. with less than 30,000 miles on these tires, they have begun to dry rot or crack around the rim. i have tried to contact the sotre where i purchase these tires, they have been of no help. i also have had numerous incidents where the tires fail to hold air. i doubt very seriously my car will ever drive on a set of yokohamas ever again. *ks* *tr | |||
